SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Rapid Fire: The J1 Can fire bursts at ten rounds a second. It requires a 30 sec Cool Down time between shots
  • Hull Melter: The J1 Can melt, and slag most hulls themselves, and pretty much anything attached. It has no deep penetrating power.

  • Can pass through shields: Plasma shots can pass both Ray and Particle shields. The offset is you have to get in close.
  • Surface Warfare: They are a versatile Cannon, but have absolutely no penetrating power on a hull. (They will destroy things attached to said Hull. Systems, Weapons & Hull itself)
  • Rapid Fire: The J1 Plasma cannon, in keeping with the theme of Jast Shipwright Co. was modified into a fast attack cannon. It did come with drawbacks (See Weaknesses)


DESCRIPTION

During her time in the outback Hala had access to some of the work that Jorus and his folks did. She was the designer and creator of the Merrill 1 Survey Ship. Thus she had some interaction with the Retribution Plasma Cannon. She managed to get a hold of the design and slip it her engineers, ordering them to come up with a custom enhancement.

So the Engineer pannel scrapped some parts, and made some mod's. The newer model was a shorter range then it's cousin and template. However it fired faster. The drawbacks were numerous. To be able to pass through shields and keep up a rapid clip, it's penetrating power was down to nothing, and it required a cool down period.

Operating this cannon past it's cool down will blow it up, and melt a huge hole in your hull in the process.

Strengths:
  • Very Rapid Fire - The J1 Plasma cannon can fire bursts at 10 Rounds a second.
  • Versatile Roles - The J1 Plasma cannon can be point defense or up close and personal weaponry for larger ships. Capitol, Freighter etc.
  • Bypass Shields- The J1 effectively passes through shields, due to being an entirely different makeup than traditional projectile or laser weapons.
Weaknesses :
  • No Penetration: The J1 Only destroys hull itself, or attachments such as weapons and systems on the hull. It cannot pass through the plating deep into the enemy vessel, unless a lucky shot makes it through an already present breach.
  • Unstable Ordnance: Plasma relies on magnetic fields to hold superheated gasses in a form such as a projectile. If this cannon is hit hard by Ion fire and the shield is compromised, the Plasma will cease to be contained. This causes unpredictable effects, from the destruction of your hull to rogue plasma burning through multiple decks unchecked inside your vessel.
  • Cool Down: Every burst has a mandatory 30 sec Cool down phase. Neglect this and kiss your cannon, and hull location it was attached to goodbye. (CAN FIRE EVERY TWO POSTS.)
  • Short Range: This weapon does not hit anything past Laser Cannon range. That means you need to be up close (Broadside range) to effectively use it. Otherwise the containment field fizzles out and it disperses harmlessly.

Edited accordingly, though I am very confused about what is being sought after by filling these out as weaknesses and limitation have been covered in multiple sections of this submission as well as in detail in the description.

It is meant to organize them better, and I have to correct it so other people don't take the liberty of doing it differently aswell.

As I said in your other post, Special features is supposed to be the spot where it lables the features, so like.

  • Penatrator
  • Rapid Fire
while Detailed is supposed to be.

  • Penatrator: This weapon has great penatration etc.
  • Rapid Fire: This weapon shoots fast etc.
or something like that, So if you could flip the sections that would be nice.

Standard star wars technology states that plasma weapons can do the following:

The Plasma cannon (or Pulse cannon) was a type of weapon that fired plasma balls at enemy vehicles or starships, causing massive electrical disturbances that disabled the target for a time.
It doesn't mention anything about going through ray and particle shields. (ray shields, which absorbed radiation and blaster bolts and particle shields, which repulsed solid objects.)

Similiar technology is this:

The m-68 planetary magnapulse cannon was built with a large underground generator and a large rotating plasma cannon above the surface. The cannon fired plasma balls at the enemy vehicles, causing massive electrical disturbances that disabled the targets for a time.
Please reflect the appropriate type of damage a plasma canon makes as per the wookiee.

Special Features:
  • Retribution Plasma Cannons completely bypass ray/particle/deflector/etc. shielding.
  • Retribution Plasma Cannons have a very short range.
  • Against hulls, Retribution Plasma Cannons deal high external damage (e.g. against turrets, arrays, launchers engines) relative to turbolasers but have lesser penetrative power. For example, a heavy, close-range, ongoing bombardment from Retributions may leave half your ship weaponless but won't have breached the reactor unless your ship is ridiculously skinny.

There might be chaos precedent but even the factory admin back then placed a heavy warning on the submission. It also had 149 posts of development to it. We are now at Factory 4.0 where development threads will no longer push the boundaries of ambitious submission.

So having a submission that is similar will not pass at it's current state.

To move towards approval, this will need to be dropped to semi-unique for only a handful of characters and PC use on ships only. Give me a set number of ships it can be used on.

How is this rpable in an pvp environment?
