SPECIAL FEATURES
  • This weapon has a very long barrel, providing incredible velocity and range, with the weapon propelling its projectiles at 31 kilometers per second.

  • The sheer size of their projectiles coupled with advancements in the preceding centuries means they can present a threat to frigates and cruisers at maximum power.
  • These guns are built on large repulsorlift pads and require a prime mover vehicle and a large flat area to fire from.
  • These guns are able to fire into orbit, and can be used as very effective counter-battery fire to orbital bombardment.

STRENGTHS
  • Massive ordinance, far exceeds the capabilities of most other guns of its size, a battery under protective shields can slug it out with many warships.
  • Possesses its own shields which can withstand direct hits from many large kinds of guns, this shield can extend to protect much of its logistics vehicles.
  • Very accurate weapon.
  • No longer requires the loading of shells, just enough time to prevent the barrel from melting its coils.
  • Very fast projectile speed, 31 kilometers per second.
  • Fires quite rapidly for a weapon this size, 20 rounds a minute.
  • Can reach into high orbit of the planetary or lunar body it is on, can outrange many turbolasers this way.
  • Can engage from a massive distance, able to outrange most conventional artillery, even some missiles.
WEAKNESSES
  • Too big to be very mobile, cannot execute shoot-and-scoot tactics.
  • Ammunition is too big to be man-handled by less than six men.
  • Requires a large and well-trained crew (~15).
  • Requires a large somewhat-flat area to fire from.
  • Requires a large logistics train to supply spare reactor coolant and pumps.
  • Requires a prime mover vehicle, it is not self-propelled.
  • When fired the weapon emits a very bright flash of light and its projectile leaves a faint trail for a few moments, like a rocket motor's smoke, making it vulnerable to discovery.
  • Has a blind-spot, half a kilometer from the gun and the weapon cannot target there.
DESCRIPTION
Designed to be the CRAF army's new and ultimate answer to orbital bombardment and well-shielded fortifications. This weapon, unlike the J-30 was designed to be an anti-orbital cannon from the very start of its development so it could provide ground troops without access to orbital support or powerful Fury-III missile batteries the ability to fight off enemy warships from ranges that they wouldn't have been able to do so before. With the sheer power and complexity of this new weapon it is a totally different beast from the weapon it is now replacing, being far more powerful, and inflicts damage on both people and armor in a totally different way, rather than exploding its targets with sheer concussive force this weapon does that and heats their target with a heat wave powerful enough to melt warship armor plating. When one of these weapons opens fire the entire region will usually know because of how bright its projectile is, it will turn night into day like a flare, but the Crossroads Army never fires just one, these weapons are deployed in six-gun batteries, and fire as a group, meaning that a minute-long bombardment can yield over a hundred plasma charges pummeling an area of their choice in a minute.
