Smatterings of agents still lived within the borders of Iron Space. Many of them had been denounced as retired, or killed-in-action, and were reassigned to the directive of Soan Antares.

There were two, however, M got sentimental over. Though she would argue it was territorialism motivating her maintenance, rather than any other connection. Sometimes, practicing that argument, she even managed to convince herself.

Regardless, there were few that dared question Chiss’ motivations so long as the outcomes and work backs were all accounted for. Performance had never compromised, and by all measures be damned if it started now.

One of the two agents, nameless, continued to operate within the civilians on the Iron Border. Specifically Nirauan. M couldn’t think of anyone else who could have sent through updates through a series of randomized networks that when matched to the quantum encryption’s schematics, provided an interesting update. The sort of movement that would att steam to Ixion Wakes — officially out of M’s dossier.

But she could still qualify leads, no? It was her job to keep an eye on all things after all.

Further reports connected updates within The Core’s influence, of Nirauan’s prince orbiting around random planets in Alliance space. That was better for her. The networks were under her jurisdiction and heavily surveiled by her own company.

It only took a few keystrokes through historic files predating the Stygian Campaign for the necessities to bubble up. Mostly labelled with associations to OPERATION_VISCISITUDE — a partially abandoned initiative. Still, it delivered contact information, strings of observations that took a few hours to piece together in a comprehensive list that was entirely confidential and need-to-know.

The outgoing message’s source would be non-traceable unless run through Niruaun’s intelligence itself first. All operations the Chiss conducted while sipping her blue milk, lit by the dim glow of her screens, were strictly off the record.

A list of your forces activity over the past years. There seems to be a pattern that's interesting behaviour for an Imperial citizen.

Forgive the belated query, but curiosity is best validated after a long while of simmering: What was your reaction to the Iron Sun’s proclamation on Warlords?
