Strengths:
  • Slightly more well armed - The IX-10 comes equipped with much of the same weaponry one would find on an X-Wing, however a nose-mounted ion cannon was also added in addition to the four laser cannons and two torpedo launchers.
  • Durable - Boasting a standard deflector shield and durasteel hull, the IX-10 is a pretty durable fighter.
  • Versatile - The IX-10 was designed to fill multiple roles for any purchasers, whether that means attacking an enemy starship, defending a planet, patrol duty on the fringes of space, etc.
Weaknesses:
  • Weak spot - Much like the older AI-07 Dawn Starfighter, the IX-10 has a weak spot in its armor to the rear of the ship that if hit can disable or destroy the fighter immediately.
  • Master of None - While the fighter is designed for versatility, it does not excel in any one role over another. Specialized fighters can easily outstrip it different scenarios.
  • Maneuverability Issue - Due to the design of the craft, if the lower ancillary wings are damaged in any way, the fighters maneuverability will become extremely limited to non-existent.
Description:

As Aurora Industries began to push its starship designs into a next-generation, it was decided that the old AI line of fighters were going to be discontinued. No new versions of those ships would be made, although production would continue for a time. This was done to begin the next series of fighters for the company, the IX series, the first of which is the IX-10 Starfighter.

The IX-10 is designed to be a versatile starfighter for any consumer, with the hope that it can be used in a wide variety of roles. The IX-10 is equipped with four standard laser cannons, two torpedo launchers, and one starfighter-class ion cannon, all with the intention of ruining someone's day from the safety of a durasteel hull enhanced with ferrocarbon and a deflector shield. The fighter is also equipped with two 221 Sublight Engines, although old they are still entirely usable ion engines for the starfighter.
