PRODUCTION INFORMATION

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Sword
  • Size: Large (~135 cm)
  • Weight: Heavy (~15 kg)
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Electricity Flow Channels: The power core in the center of Iustitia stores electricity that can be sent along insulated copper channels inside the blade when the pommel button is pressed. Once electricity travels to the betaplast edges of the blade, it is no longer insulated and electricity is discharged out of the blade, creating a field of electricity around Iustitia's blade. This field is strong enough to stun most humanoid species upon physical contact and to absorb the strike of a lightsaber, allowing Iustitia to deflect and parry such weapons without taking damage. The electric field can also short out small electrical appliances such as helmet HUDs and astromech droids upon physical contact.
STRENGTHS

  • Anti-Saber: When its electrical current is activated, Iustitia can block and parry the blades of lightsabers.
  • Ion Blade: Iustitia's electrical current can short out small electronics and droids.
  • Cleave: More similar to a greatsword than a baton in dimensions, Iustitia has a reach and striking power that exceed that of most conventional melee weapons.
  • As All Things Should Be: The considerable weight of Iustitia is evenly distributed throughout its blade, allowing for increased accuracy and slicing power compared to more unwieldy weapons.
  • Superior Blade: As its creation was personally overseen by FN-999, Iustitia is a well-crafted blade. Its compact form and simplistic construction unhampered by ornate decorations gives it impressive durability, making it a weapon that can last for centuries in the hands of capable and responsible swordsmen. When swung with enough force, Iustitia's weight and construct multiplied by its velocity can generate enough power to crack or even shatter a physical blade of lower quality.
WEAKNESSES
  • Electric Power: Iustitia gains many of its positive attributes only when its electric circuit is activated. If the circuit is deactivated or destroyed, then Iustitia will simply be an ordinary, though uncommonly well-crafted, sword.
  • Big Boy Blade: Designed with FN-999 in mind, Iustitia is larger and heavier than most melee weapons. Consequently, an individual unused to carrying swords and lacking the muscle mass acquired through military training can find it very difficult to wield Iustitia.
DESCRIPTION

Upon ascending to the rank of Captain in the New Imperial Stormtrooper Corps, FN-999 decided to use his benefits to upgrade his aging Z6 riot control baton.
At nearly fifteen years old, the baton was a relic of his many years of service in the First Order. Even after he had exchanged his First Order Stormtrooper armor for that of the New Imperial Order, he had kept his baton. It held deep value to the trooper - it was a physical reminder of his past, a time when a little boy from an abusive family was approached by a young recruitment officer from a fledgling empire. In continuing to carry it with him even as a New Imperial stormtrooper, FN-999 believed that he was continuing down the path of order and justice that he had started so many years prior.

In order to keep the legacy and memory of his baton with him, FN-999 had the blacksmith creating his new weapon salvage his old baton and melt down its betaplast frame. The puddle of betaplast would later be solidified and used for a large majority of the new weapon's construction. To further reinforce the blade and allow for the flow of electricity through its interior and out of the blade, titanium and copper components respectively were contributed.

Once the blacksmiths were complete, a powerful and refined blade had entered FN-999's possession. He decided to name it Iustitia, which came from an ancient language he had learned on Corellia, with Iustitia translating to "Justice", an ideal that the captain held deep in his heart.
