The Reaper of Won Shasot
Dax mentally shrugged at the fact that the woman had decided to throw caution to the wind. Some cases he could admire. This wasn't necessarily one in his opinion. Sith ruins could be even deadlier than battlefields. But, it wasn't his place to judge. He'd had his fair share of dumb adventures himself.

When [member="Kaalia Voldaren"] stopped at the fork in the hallways and conjured into life a flame, the Master couldn't help but give her an impressed look. He was starting to like the fiery woman, despite the fact she'd tried to kill him. Returning his slugthrower to its holster, he raised his left hand, stray wisps of flame floating through the air from the conflageratiom in her hand to gather at the center of his palm before bursting into its own little ball of light. The man peered down both hallways, both equally empty and forboding..."Right." he said. No one had gone wrong going right before...right?

Kaalia simply nodded at the answer. "Right it is then. Let's hope you made the right decision." The light of the flames in both of the pair's hands bounced off the walls as the woman started moving again, heading into the right corridor. A short an uneventful walk later they would meet a large open room. The only things visible where whatever was lit up by the fire that was conjured before.

As she took a careful step forward the Kro Varian felt the Force screaming out a warning to her and almost immediately a creature leaped out from the darkness, the only reason it missed Kaalia being her reflexes not failing her and being able to sidestep it. As it flew past her she focussed the Force around her, and much like when she created a mote of fire, called upon a technique from Kro Var, her birthworld. Out of seemingly nowhere a large gust of wind came to life as she shaped wind around her, slamming the presumed Sithspawn against the wall. "Kill it!" she yelled out towards Dax as she continued shaping the flow of wind, trying to keep it in place.

Dax felt the beast leap from the dark just as the red headed dark wider did, and Dax's orange blade screamed to life. The Sithspawm helped as it struck the wall and floor, a scratching sound, claws against stone, filled the room besides the howling wind as the creature struggled to regain its footing on the floor. A quick hiss and smell of burning flesh was the last thing the spawn experienced as Dax quickly plunged his blade into the beasts's side.

"Where'd you learn that trick?" Dax asked as he extracted his saber and knelt beside the dead thing to examine it.

[member="Kaalia Voldaren"]

Dax' blade flashed to life in an instant and not even a second after Kaalia called out to him to finish the job he had finished the creature off. The powerful stream of wind died down when the orange blade found its way into the Sithspawn A wide smile was seen on the redhead's face and she nodded in contentment of witnessing the life, if one could call it a life, quickly slip away from the creature and smelling the flesh around where the saber was plunged into its side being scorched. "One down, probably many more to go," she said to the young Master as she knelt down next to him to look over their kill.

The woman let a breeze of air blow through her nose in amusement when she was asked where she learned how to shape wind. "It's from my planet of origin, Kro Var. I didn't grow up there, I don't know my parents either, but I'm not telling you that story today." All he needed to know was that her roots were there and nothing more. She got back up on her feet and once again summoned a flame in the palm of her hand, taking a few steps into the chamber. "It reminds me of where I came from."

"Oh, so you're a Shaper?" the young man asked as they both stood, once again igniting their 'torches'. "I've heard about them, vaguely. Focus on elemental abilities? More or less a bit secretive." Dax had always found the Shapers of Kro Var a very interesting Force sect, among many others. They were the only ones he knew of that focused on elemental abilities exclusively.

Dax followed after the fiery Dark Sider into the chamber, shining his light around the stone walls, attempting to discover more of whatever lay deep within the temple...

[member="Kaalia Voldaren"]

Kaalia chuckled for a moment. "Don't catch yourself saying that in front 'real' Shapers. They would be incredibly insulted." Kro Varian people opposed any Force powers that didn't have a physical manifestation, but the redhead often used powers that weren't visible. "I like to say I took the good parts of their... less-than-perfect culture." After learning of her roots and hearing the story of her parents she wasn't sure what to think of the people of Kro Var, but she was more than happy to take what they had learned for herself.

The chamber had interesting markings on the wall, but unfortunately the woman couldn't make anything of it. "Can you read this?" She took out a datapad and started making records of what she saw to hopefully translate it later. Her assumption was that the text on the wall was in Sith language, but she wasn't entirely sure.

A little while later Kaalia finished recording the texts and she pocketed the datapad, now looking around for any sign of a door or set of stairs to continue. Although none of such things were visible, she had the feeling there was more to this room than just this. "I think there's a hidden passageway somewhere. It makes no sense for this room to be a dead end."

Dax stared at the thin lines chiseled into the stone walls of the temple. Lifting the flame in his hand and bringing it closer to the script the man scrunched his brows together as he tried to decipher the language. "Yeah, that's Sith alright. Little different dialect than the Shasoti use, just gimme a sec."

Before the man could finish translating the scripts the sound of a saber igniting echoed through the halls around them. "...You heard that too...right?"

[member="Kaalia Voldaren"]

"Take your time, I'm sure we've got-" Kaalia was interrupted by the sound of an igniting lightsaber, causing her to immediately grasp the hilt of Mirari tightly in her left hand as she once again unclipped it from her belt. A quick look around revealed nobody, but there was no mistaking it; there was someone or something that was not too happy with the two being present. "I did. Sounds like trouble." Her tone immediately turned into something cold as she spoke. The killer in her came to life like it had done many times before, and rarely would her target walk out alive.

The flame in the woman's hand extinguished and she started moving, her steps eerily silent. Calmly walking towards the entrance of the room she placed herself next to it with her back pressed against the wall. Anyone who were to come through there would quickly meet the hot plasma of her lightsaber. Her face, mostly hidden by the how dark the room was, was like it was made out of stone.

Dax silently acknowledged the woman's movement and turned to stand himself. His sabers were flew to his hands, pulled by the Force into his grip. With his back to the wall, a roar and a scream accompanied the orange blades of light that sprang from his hands. Both sabers point to either side of himself, he listened carefully to the silence, tracking the friendly neighborhood darksider through the Force while searching with the Force for other presences. One...two...three...four... the number other, unrecognizable presences continued to climb until they reached a rough dozen...Dax looked up towards where the Force signatures resided. A single blade of crimson light hung from the ceiling, a skeletal being clinging to the ceiling. One by one, the other eleven blades ignited in quick succession, all equally terrifying creatures clung to the walls and pillars. Who were they, what did they want? And why hadn't they attacked yet?

[member="Kaalia Voldaren"]

When Kaalia had noticed the skeletal beings were clinging from the ceiling herself, she immediately ignited the saber in her hand and moved her free hand upwards, aiming at their enemies while she focused on the air around her. Bending it to her will a blast of wind burst outwards, blasting it against the ceiling. Her goal was to have them drop down so they couldn't get the drop on the two and as she saw at least one of them fall down she jumped up to meet it, slashing her saber towards it. It was met by the red beam of light of the being, at which point she went land a kick. It was placed at the midsection and created distance as it landed on its back.

When Kaalia landed on her feet herself she immediately went to charge at it, unrelenting on her flurry of attacks to leave it no room. The presence around her direct opponent darkened and a burst of energy was sent out by it, blowing the redhead back for a moment. "That's no way to treat a guest!" she exclaimed as she looked to re-engage.

Dax watched as the woman struck out at one of their many attackers. The sound and light illuminated the darkened hall for a moment, only to be dimmed by the shadowy Force presence. Like the red headed woman, Dax saw, or rather felt, the incoming Force attack, and raised his own defenses as the wave of kinetic energy flowed past the woman. Back already to the wall, the man didn't budge. Looking to the ceiling he watched as the skeletal, humanoid beings began to descend from the escarpments, some simply jumping down, others crawling down the sides of pillars and walls like insects.

One launched himself through the air at Dax, only to be found flying back in the direction he came, slamming into a pillar. Dax had thrown his own Force Push at the attackers. Turning, the man struck at another of the hostiles, his orange blade clashing with another of the red blades. Staring at the hollow face, Dax noticed a rather jarring similarity to that of a human skull. But another moment and the man realized that the attackers were Givins...or rather they had been. Their bodies now appeared even more deformed than they had before, limbs elongated and stretched, and apparently capable of bending at unnatural angles....SithSpawn...

Watching Dax' saber meet another, Kaalia kept her tight grasp on the Force. Suddenly she leapt to land to the side of the Sithspawn and slashed out, the blue beam of light slicing through its midsection. With a kick to one of its legs it fell apart, and with a quick nod toward Dax she turned around and turned to face one of the remaining creatures. It let out a cry as it charged towards her, forcing her to react. Reaching out through the Force once more, she clasped down on it, rendering it frozen in place. Taking slow steps forwards until she was right in its face before cutting off its head with her lightsaber. The lack of effort the saber took to cut through caused Kaalia to smile, feeling a surge of power come over her.

"A few more," the redhead mentioned as she quickly scanned the area for the remaining hostiles. Locking eyes with her next target she went for another leap, ready to cut another Sithspawn down to size.

Dax heard the woman mutter something about only a few more. Not a problem. Dax moved swiftly, breaking his bladelock with the Sithspawn, pinning the Givin's saber down with the orange blade in his left, while the one in his right trailed up the Sithspawn's arm to his neck swiftly decapitating him. The head thudded to the floor as the limp body stumbled around for a moment, not yet realizing it was dead before dropping to the floor. Dax looked at the head on the floor, then to one of the Givin approaching the duo. A smirk on his face, the man took a couple steps back, the ran a few paces, stopped and kicked the head right at the Sithspawn, catching it mid stride, enough Force to topple it over. Dax was upon the dazed being quickly, driving his blade through its back as it attempted to stand again.

[member="Kaalia Voldaren"]

Seeing the Sithspawn she engaged had already raised his saber to defend Kaalia did not strike with her leap. Instead she landed next to it and tripped it over with her left leg. When it came down with a thud she buried the tip of her saber in the back of its head, at which point it stopped moving. Her saber was extuingished for a moment as she started moving again looking for her next target, but it seemed it was the last of their group.

"That was a nice workout," the redhead said as she stretched her arms. "A bit out of nowhere, and a bit rude as well, but nice nonetheless." Kneeling down for a moment she picked up the antique lightsaber the creature wielded, taking a look at it with a mote of fire in her other hand. "These could fetch a nice price, don't you think?" She slipped it into one of the pockets of her coat, gladly surprised by the spoils of victory. Walking around to the other corpses she picked up the other ones, going through the same procedure of examining and pocketing them. "Split the amount fifty-fifty?"

Dax stood and rolled his shoulders as his blades hissed and screamed to a close. He watched as the flame-haired woman walked around the brief battle site and collected the fallen Sithspawn's weapons. "Sure. Fifty-fifty." the Rogue said as he knelt down beside a body of the Sithspawn. Definitely a Givin. The hollow looking skull stared out like a ghost from a horror holo, the light from [member="Kaalia Voldaren"]'s flames dancing across the dead thing's face morphing the unmoving face into a living, breathing, screaming being. The man went to turn the head to examine the body further, but as soon as he touched the body, it all fell away to ash, blown away by an unseen wind. "I got a bad feeling about this place." he said as he stood up again. "What do you think did this?"

The bodies themselves didn't matter much to Kaalia, but the sabers were points of interest. They were of ancient design, perhaps some things could be learned from them. It was something to worry about later however, they had likely not dealt with every danger yet. Darting around through the room she looked for anything else of interest, carefully taking it every little detail she came across. "Probably whoever's final resting place this is, or their servants. They have been here for quite some time, so they were likely guarding something. What that something is exactly is what I'm hoping we will find out." Places like these were nothing but intriguing to the redhead. Despite the risks that came along with visiting them they were very alluring.

"Oh come on, did it have to be this cliché?" Kaalia chuckled. It was clear she had found something. An unlit torch was placed in a holder on the wall, and when she gave the holder a yank it tilted towards her. Small rumblings could be felt as part of the wall slid down, revealing a new pathway. "I was hoping for something original, but I suppose you can't always get what you want." Walking back to her backpack that leaned against one of the pillars she flung it over her shoulders, the small collection of sabers rattling inside. "If you want we can wait here for a bit, calm down a bit after that little fight. Would give you time to translate the texts, too. I have no issue in moving on, though."

Dax laughed a little at the woman's mention of a cliche as she yanked on the unlit sconce riveted to the wall. "I swear, that's straight out of a hologame or something." he said as the wall slid away to reveal a hidden passage. "Gimme a sec to try to make sense of this chit." the Rogue said, peering closer to the engraved letters upon the wall, a ball of fire in hand to illuminate the shallow, worn markings. If the red-headed dark sider listened closely, she'd be able to hear the man mumble to himself and occasionally grumble over the writings. Finally, he straightened his back, and shoved a hand in his pocket, his brows furrowed in a concerned look. "This can't be right...it mentions the remnants of an exiled Sith. Someone who was extremely good at alchemy. But why the hell would they exile an alchemist, the Sith loved that kinda chit..."

[member="Kaalia Voldaren"]

"Take your time." Kaalia walked over to Dax to witness him translate the texts while looking at them herself. Having truly no clue of what it said she made a mental note to look up any information on the Sith language and get to learning it herself. For now she had to depend on her partner for the translation, but it would do. His mumbling and grumbling made it seem some things were a bit off, but until he explained why he did so the exact reason for it was unknown.

Fortunately the redhead did not have to wait much longer for the translation. As Dax told her what the texts said she raised an eyebrow, wondering what the cause of the Sith's exile was. "That is true, but what makes it truly curious is that Sith rarely exile people. They rather just kill them and be done with it." Turning around towards the recently opened corridor she started walking towards it. "Perhaps this alchemist was too powerful for them to kill. No matter what though, I want to know what secrets are hidden here now."
