SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Itsû is ri Jura
  • Classification: Prison
  • Location: Raekkar
  • Affiliation: Yidhra, Legion of the Damned
  • Accessibility:
Itsû is ri Jura, or "Jura" for short is not a location that is very easy to reach. Located deep into the magma pits of Raekkar the prison is almost impossible to traverse on Foot, requiring a speeder or spacecraft in order to actually reach properly. Lava falls, geysers, and a whole host of unpleasantness surround the entire area. Though there are bridges located around the massive canyon Jura is located in these are most often not at all comfortable to actually walk on. Jura is located in a wasteland, escapees will often find themselves in more misery outside than in.
  • Security:
Perhaps Surprisingly, Jura has not real external defenses. Due to its nature as a prison of 'undesirables', no one on Raekkar is really worried about the idea of someone going in to the prison to break someones else out. Because of this there are scant few external defenses, really only a few laser cannons and turbo-lasers positioned at the opening of the canons. On the inside of the prison is an entirely different story however.

Blast Doors, Auto-turrets, and security guards rove the halls. The Inside of the prison is a seeming maze that one can spend weeks walking around if they don't know the proper way. Dozens of cameras line the hallways and each junction can be crossed with a thick blast doors. The Inside of the prison is made to be secure, hiding away the deadliest and most cunning of prisoners.
  • Description:
Itsû is ri Jura is located deep within the Magma pits of Raekkar. The prison itself is actually composed of three sectioned buildings each with their own purpose. These buildings are loosely linked with bridges that hold just above the magma pools. The three buildings are of course different size, two smaller structure hooking into the cliff surfaces leading back to a singular tower placed within the middle of the valley.

The two support building as they were are directly constructed into the side of the valley itself, each one holding a different function. One is a Guard Barracks, a slightly nicer building which allows the soldiers of Jura to live in relative comfort.

The other building is a sprawling laboratory, one of a dozen located on Rakkar utilized by Yidhra for her experiments. It is here that tertiary tests are performed on prisoners. The screams and echoing cries that come from this building seem to ring throughout the entire valley, and it is a sight often seen that men and women are dragged over the bridge to the laboratory. What is truly inside has never been seen.

The final building, the tower is located centrally within the valley and it is here that the majority of the prisoners are kept.

POINTS OF INTEREST
The Pit: Jura is a prison that above all functions as a sort of recruitment center for the Legion of the Damned and Lord Yidhra's experiments. The best way to 'screen' candidates for those whom have the tendency to survive was to...throw everyone together.

The Pit, as its name implies is quite literally a giant pit dug deep into the earth below the central tower of the prison. This rocky home is where ninety percent of prisoners within Jura are kept. Men, women, and even sometimes children are thrown into the pit. They are given food and sometimes clothes, but other than that they are simply expected to survive. Every now and again the Guards will take someone from the pits, though they are hardly ever returned.

Life expectancy within the Pit's is slim, and more often than not only the strongest survive.

The Cells: Located within the tower, The Cells are where those who have survived the Pits go.

These cells are hardly the lap of luxury, generally they are little more than four walls, a toilet, and a blanket thrown into the corner for the prisoner. Most often the cells are filled with those who have survived The Pits, some destined to become experiments and some having already survived the touch of Yidhra. The men and women located here are bloody, broken, and absolutely ruthless.

It is not uncommon for Guards to fall victim to inmates within the cells, either tricked or trapped by cunning prisoners.

The Laboratory: The Laboratory is where Yidhra and her servants do their work. It is here that the Sith conducts here experiments upon both beasts and man, forming them into something new or perhaps just seeing if they can survive.

Screams, terror, and fear seem to burst out from the laboratory.

Even the hardest of men fear what lurks beyond these walls.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Jura is not the ultimate prison.

It is not the most secure facility in the galaxy and it is most certainly not the bastion of liberal prison keeping. Instead it is where the worst of the worst are thrown, those across the galaxy that the Resurgent Empire and others simply did not want. Murderers, Serial Killers, and every other horrible kind of being make their lives within the pits of Jura. Those that are sent here are the worst kinds of people in the galaxy.

There are no innocents in Jura, and those that are quickly die.

Jura doesn't truly function as a prison facility, it is not meant to house VIP's or personnel that are meant to be reintroduced into society. Jura is a place that someone is sent to when they are to die. This prison is a death sentence, and it's atmosphere presents that very well upon arrival.

It is said there are only three ways to escape this prison.

Death, Transformation, or the with the Damned.
