The ISTBM is an improved variant ISTBM Tie Bomber of the produced by Bastion Holdings for explicitly military use. It has been upgraded with additional heavy laser cannons and launchers thanks to improved power management and more efficient automatization, carrying a total of four of the former and eight of the latter. It is, simply speaking, a powerhouse in the offensive department, while still maintaining decent defensive characteristics. One will still, however, want air superiority or a fighter escort for them, as they are slow and can thus be slowly whittled down by enemy strikecraft.

- Peace Through Superior Firepower...: The ISTBM variant of the Standard Tie Bomber has quite a few more weapons and missiles than its base variant while still maintaining its other beneficial characteristics like higher defenses, making it a deadly bomber against land and ground targets.
- ...But Peace is Expensive: Balancing all the thousands of minor changes to the original design to get even more firepower out of it was expensive, and this is reflected in the raised cost of the bomber, limiting it to factional use or for wealthy individuals.
- Vulnerable Without Escort: Its low speed and maneuverability make it vulnerable to hit and run attacks by more maneuverable and quick starfighters, as such one would be wise to escort it with interceptors or fighters.
