STRENGTHS
  • Scale of Control: The Advanced Telescopic Relay can connect directly with Imperial and Inquisitorious Operatives feeding their HUD's a direct feed from orbit in real time which can afford them a birds eye view of a battlefield, city or landscape. This amounts to an enhanced degree of tactical awareness. With a 10cm resolution the Darklight is capable of magnifying to a degree that a grenade can be seen from space as an example of optical capabilities. Atmospheric Shields allow it to dip into planetary atmospheres while maneuvering enabling it zero in on even difficult to locate targets.
  • Fast and Nimble: Duralumin Hull and Plating reduce the weight of the Satellite ensuring it is both maneuverable and swift. Outfitted with maneuvering thrusters and ion engines to assist and it redeploy quickly ensuring operators always have an up to date picture of their environment.
  • Difficult to See: Ion Shields assist in making the Satellite difficult to pick up on sensors making it harder for Capital Ships to target and requiring Pilots to rely on line of sight rather than automated targeting systems.

WEAKNESSES
  • No Offense: Like it says, the Satellite has no offensive capabilities. It is not intended for direct combat.
  • Limited Defense: The Satellite relies on speed and stealth, it has nothing in the way of deflector shields and the duralumin hull and plating ensure that it is susceptible to anything that can hit it.
DESCRIPTION
Commissioned by the Imperial Secret Service (ISS) for use by the Confederation Military and Inquisitorious the MK-2 'Darklight' Satellite is designed as an advanced reconnaissance tool to assist Troopers and Inquisitors control the battlefield with real time, accurate data.

Deployed by Imperial Capital Ships these Satellites are outfitted with automated systems that allow them to operate independently for years at a time. Solar Energy Arrays allow them to power themselves and retract when not in use, ion shielding assists in scrambling sensors that might pick them up ensuring other starships and planetary defenses mistake them for 'blips' or ghosts in the system and slave circuitry allows operatives to access satellite programs with new coordinates and designations. Each Satellite is also outfitted with atmospheric shielding permitting it to dip into planetary atmospheres for additional cover or advanced angles to zero in on otherwise hard to locate targets.

Secure channels of access ensure that most Slicers will find it difficult to hack into a Darklight and a killswitch allows Imperial Operators to remotely destroy Satellites that have been compromised before they're turned against them.

A Darklight Satellite is approximately 30 meters in length, 10 meters in width (increasing to 40+ when solar array is extended) and 15 meters in height. The Satellites are deployed independently, they have no squadron size. As the Satellites are often deployed from Capital sized vessels they do not come equipped with a hyperdrive unit however their powerful engines allow them to be deployed at the outskirts of a system so that they can make a difficult to detect approach to planetoids.

Looks cool!
I would like to ask you to add the following parts to the template. These are not part of the pre-made fields but still important part of the template:
  • Length: (Via Metric System.)
  • Width: (Via Metric System.)
  • Height: (Via Metric System.)
This, if the satellite is larger than 50 metres:
  • Hangar Space: (Please provide the amount of fighters/support craft this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of advanced systems should be. )
  • Hangar Allocations: (This is the allocated amounts of starfighters and support craft (dropships, shuttles, gunships, etc) this submission can hold in its hangar based on the maximum hangar space capacity listed above)
    • Starfighters: x squadrons
    • Support Craft: x squadrons
  • Single Craft Hangar: (Does this ship have a hanger for a single fighter craft to be docked? Please choose either Yes or No. This field does not need to be taken into account when balancing but should be included in the strengths and weaknesses.) If the ship is between 50-500 metres
Or, if the satellite is smaller than 50 metres:
Squadron Count: (Please provide the amount of fighters this submission would have in a squadron. The average squadron for any starfighter is 12, at lengths averaging 12.5 meters. The bigger the fighter, the smaller your Squadron Count should be. The smaller the fighter, the bigger your Squadron count can be. [None: 1 | Very Low: 4 | Low: 8 | Average: 12 | High: 16 | Very High: 20 | Extreme: 24 ] Squadron Sizes may be listed as just the rating.)
And this:
Hyperdrive: (Does this ship have a hyperdrive? If this ship has a hyperdrive how fast is it? The lower the number, the faster the ship is, you may choose decimals. Any speed below 1.0 requires the hyperdrive to be added to the ship’s strengths and accordingly balanced with weaknesses. Links: Hyperdrive, Hyperdrive Comparisons)
