The list of NPCs: on the base.
Atmospheric music: Arrival

Summery: Bordering the Unknown Regions, is a republic outpost and research facility, cut off from everything else. The only time contact is open, is when a single transport ship delivers fresh resources and other materials, once every six months. With recently scanned activities of pirates, the three Jedi have been assigned by the Jedi Order to make sure that the base is secured. Meanwhile, the facility has hired two Mandalorians who were to work under contract as privateers to oversee the security forces on the station by the Site Manager. When the research facility receives a distress signal from a derelict ship, they quickly discover survivors in deep need of medical care and something else... something dangerous.

"This is the captain speaking, we will be exiting out of Hyperspace ETA twenty minutes" announced the captain from the cockpit, before closing off the comm to the rest of the transport ship. The journey had been long, even for hyperspace travel. The 017 was a specially built ship for travelling long distances, able to transport all manners of resources and a lot of it at a time. However, unlike normal resource runs to the Republic outpost and research facility, which normally would take a day or so. This time it took them four whole days, due to some specific requisition orders from some of the scientists.
bbb49341d96f2cbf0a3a6727a5a34e08.jpg
The transport ship was issued with the most basic quarters for hyperspace travel. At the front, with a slightly pointed-nosed, two large windows placed crossed to get the optimal view for the pilots. The cockpit had four chairs in mind, two front for the pilots and then two behind, turned 90-degrees, facing control panels for various functions.

In order to get down the lower areas of the ship, small turbolift is installed, to provide quick access for the crew members, however, if something were to make it stop working, stairs are also included. Coming down by either stairs or turbolift, only accessible by crew-members, is a small corridor with the restroom doors, opposite of the stairs and turbolift. To the right is one of the escape pots, room for five people total, and to the left, is leading into a T-junction. At the end of the T-junction, is a long hallway, plenty of space, spanning the entire length of the ship. To the left of the long corridors were all the work stations for the crew and to the right, were crew lounge, another set of restrooms, and escape pods. The crew lounge had a pazaak table, a couple of sofas, a long table up against the hall with two chairs on each long side.
0ed878ae14d44146ccf70e557266c960.jpg
Further down the corridor after the crew lounge was the many crew cabins, doors on each side of the hallway, issued for the many people who work on the ship. The Jedi and Mandalorians riding along, each received their own cabin for the journey to the outpost and research facility. Each cabin was issued with a standard issued bed, a table with a chair, and a small cabinet for personal belongings. The crew cabins were not the biggest rooms, but they did the job for space travel. While the Jedi and Mandalorians weren't part of the crew of the ship, they were granted access to the crew lounge, mess hall, and other basic facilities on the ship.

Continuing down the hallway on the right was the medical bay, walls made out of thick glass covered by curtains on the inside for privacy of the patients. a little further down, would the hallway open up to an open built mess hall with a small kitchen in the corner, up against the wall, facing out to the eating area for easy access.
c3d0d780825f332a45557634b41845c5.jpg
All the way at the bottom was a turbolift and stairs down to the large cargo bay, filled for maximum capacity on this journey. Down in the cargo bay area, was two walkways built over the cargo, so the crew could get from one end and back faster. The cargo bay area was also were the docking tube. The shipped was manned with about 25 people, including droids.

Some of the crew members had gathered around the mess hall, while others found better relaxing in the lounge after long a long day. A few took the chance to get a nap, or just stay to their cabins, not wanting company at the moment. "I can't wait for when we return, my wife is due in a couple of months, said the doctors," said one crew member, walking down the long hallway to the mess hall, "no way man, congratulation!" congratulated his friend, walking with him. They pasted two other crew members, ready to kick off after a long day with a game of pazaak, "are you ready to get your ass kicked?" Asked the first man teasingly, excited to relax. "No way, I've just got a couple of new cards for my deck, you're going down" replied the female, holding up her Pazaak deck in her hand as the two entered the crew lounge.

The footsteps of the cloaked Knightess echoed through the hallway, as she trolled from point A to... no where really. A Jedi had to be patient at all times, but she couldn't deny that the long hours of hyperspace travel were getting to her. Kara understood that their destination bordered the unknown regions, and that the hyperspace routes to their destination were unstable and ever changing. Plotting a route alone took days, and she could've sworn that they made at least seven short jumps per day.

The captain's message over the comm brought relief to the female Kel Dor. Just twenty more minutes... Turning the corridor, Kara moved a little to the right, allowing two crew members who were on their way to the mess hall to pass her. At a glance, she saw that they were carrying a Pazaak board. It made her wonder if their shift ended, or if they had a short break. Even after all these days, she still hadn't be able to deduce the numbers of the crew aboard this ship. Every day she saw new faces. That, or she truly was going crazy in here.

Her promenading eventually led her back to the corridor that housed the crew's and guest's quarters. She hesitated for a moment as she reached her own simplistic cabin. She had work to do, publications to write and texts to analyze. But she really had been procrastinating for the last few days. "Well then.. Let's get back to work..." she mumbled to herself, as the door to her cabin slid open.

The pair of Mandalorians didn't sit with the crew in the mess hall but rather sat alone, playing Pazaak with their helmets resting on the table beside them. The cabin fever had set in and after four days he was itching for some excitement and it wasn't in the form of a card game that he had half-heartedly been playing with Isabeau since they had finished dinner. He had few complaints; the food was decent and everyone had their own room which was a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

"Hah!" Zephyr exclaimed rather too enthusiastically as he practically slammed the winning card on the table after a lengthy losing streak, causing a few eyes to glance in the direction of the pair. He gathered the cards in to deal them again but upon hearing the announcement that they would be leaving hyperspace in twenty minutes he lost all will to play and placed the cards down, signalling the end of their game.

A familiar, distinctive face caught his eye behind Isabeau, prompting a chuckle from the Mandalorian. "Well I never..." He muttered before calling to the Jedi. "Cas!" He shouted to get the Padawan's attention before beckoning him over with a hand gesture, a smile forming on his face. "This is Cas, my ex-bounty." He introduced the Padawan to Isabeau in a joking manner. He harboured no hard feelings towards the Jedi, despite their brief rivalry; it was nothing personal, just a job.

Her eyes narrowed as Zephyr let out his triumphant little exclamation "Just you wait - I'll get you in the next one" she said with a tone resembling the one she'd use whilst threatening to kill someone. Brushing away a few strains of hair, she watched intently as he shuffled the cards. It was soon replaced by a sense of dread as he stopped to hear the Captain. The announcement would rue this day and serve as his saviour. But at the same time, she too was excited about the prospect of not being locked on a me'sen for another eternity - while the research facility was probably also just another bucket of bolts, it would probably be more spacious and hopefully allow for some sparring. Waiting until he had finished putting the cards back into the box, she leaned forth "If you had any self respect, you would've played for another round"

Before he really got a chance to respond, Zephyr seemed to spot someone he knew. Turning around, she saw someone around the same age as herself with pleasant features and weird tattoos. "Who's that?" she asked, quickly receiving a semi-response as the guy's name was hollered. "You can't just call for him as if he were an akk dog!" she said with a teasingly critical tone and furrowed eyebrows. Still oblivious to who Cas was, she hopped out of her seat and neared him. She usually didn't warm up to stranger's quickly but this one seemed pleasant and as a part of her jest on Zephyr; Isabeau formed a friendly smile "Hey, you should join us." Standing about a metre apart, she extended a hand for him to shake "I'm Isabeau" before turning around, bringing him along to the table and guiding him to a seat next to hers on the bench.

Whether he had figured out that they were Mandalorian or not was unclear. While they both wore armour as Mandalorians practically always did, their helmets were placed so that the T-visors, which tended to be the dead giveaway, weren't plainly visible. Only when the three of them were seated did she hear Zephyr tell her who Cas was to him. Isabeau looked to her side at Cas with two raised eyebrows, obviously quite surprised. "This is a little awkward, isn't it?" she asked, looking at the tattooed bounty. A mischievous smile spread across her face "Anyone with self respect would've let themselves get captured" - the thoughts remained in her mind. While she was not keen on letting her fellow Mandalorian off the hook, the joke probably wouldn't work well with this other guy anyways. Instead, she looked him and let out an interested "How much were you worth?"

Okay, Cas regretted agreeing to participate in this mission - however, the friendly face that was Vil helped eased the trip slightly. Although, it only lasted for so long. After a few hours holed up in his quarters, the Padawan reflected on some of his Master's advice and attempted to meditate but to no avail, giving up his attempt, he sat on his bed with his legs still crossed and stared at the wall. Completely bored, Cas got up off of his bed and exited his room, making his way to the mess hall, he planned on eating his boredom away.

Shortly after arriving, his ears perked up at the announcement they'd be exiting hyperspace in twenty minutes sent a wave of relief over the Kiffar, tilting his head upward he sighed in joy. Surprisingly, a familiar voice called out his name and he turned his attention to... an armoured man and woman? Before he could even react however, the woman who was oddly friendly and looked the same age as him approached him and introduced herself, "Cas. But... you knew that." he shook his head in embarrassment, simultaneously taking her hand and shaking it.

As he was led to their table, he couldn't help but think that he just wanted food before sitting on the bench alongside Isabeau. Then he remembered, the armoured man was the Mandalorian that tried to capture him on Takodana way back when, "Ohhhhhh yeah, I remember you now. Didn't recognise you without the helmet... and the various stun bolts being fired at me." he passive aggressively joked, leaning on the table, he turned his attention to Isabeau "Nah not really, my clan respect you Mandos a lot. Was practically an honour to be hunted by you." the Padawan confessed nonchalantly.

He then leaned forward even more, locking eyes with his former rival and grinned, but he still answered the female warrior "No idea to be honest with you..." pausing for a moment "... But, did you end up having to give your employer that refund in the end?" he queried, calling back to the same joke he made back during their encounter.

Coming out of hyperspace, the ship's captain started to guide the ship towards the looming base in the distant. it was quite a distance away still and so the captain's voice came over the ship's comm again. "We are not out of lightspeed and are expecting our arrival within ten minutes" announced the voice, before turning the comm off again.

Multiple areas on the ships had thick windows installed, allowing people access to the outside. What people would see, if they took a peek, was a vast belt of rocks, both small and large, some even huge.
5c82edd69207e3b2d80eb12579bc643c.jpg
However, it didn't take long for the ship to slow down as it started to approach the outpost and while the base wasn't enormous, it still had volume to its size, expanding over two of the larger rocks and a few of the smaller ones.

Cas, Isabeau, and Zephyr would start to notice that a lot of the crew members around them would start to head for the ship's cargo bay, ready to unload cargo to the base. One of the ship's officers stopped by Kara's cabin door, knocking a set of knocks, before speaking, "you are to head for the cargo bay Master Jedi" explained the officer, just to make sure that Kara Dur had heard him before he headed for the mess hall. Seeing all three passengers gathered, made his task much easier as he went over to the table. Coming to a stop by the end of the table, he placed his hands behind his back and gave all three a friendly smile. "We have arrived at the station, so if you would please head for the cargo bay where you will be able to depart the ship" explained the officer with a pleasant and formal voice. "If you don't know where the cargo bay is, just go out to the hallway and turn right, you will find a turbolift, taking you down" added the officer, just in case.

When all four passengers arrived down in the cargo bay, they would be met with cargo being unloaded and carried inside by ship droids and multiple of the ship's crew members getting the next crate ready for offloading. Further down, stood another crew member, actually, the same one who greeted the four passengers, before taking off. When Tim saw the four exit the turbolift, he waved them over to where he stood, ready to greet them goodbye. "Thank you for flying with us, may your time at the facility be pleasant," he said with a small smile.

Exiting the ship, Zephyr, Isabeau, Kara, and Cas would enter a long squared tube, made out of something that looked like plastic, but most likely wasn't, giving them the full view of the dark looming research facility, where they would be living in for the next six month. After a minute of walking, they finally arrived at a set of blast doors, opening one by one, letting the group inside of the base.

What they first met was two people, standing side by side, one smiling and the other with indifferent facial features. "Ah, welcome friends! We've been excised for your arrival" greeted the smiling woman, wearing just a sweatshirt, some relaxing trousers, and a clipping board. Then she realized she hadn't introduced herself and colleague, "oh, where are my manners. This is Zenor, and I'm Mona" introduced Mona herself and the man beside her.

The man called Zenor looked the two Mandalorians over and an actually smirk formed, "at least they gave me real soldiers, instead of some peace lovers" earning a light slap to his shoulder by Mona. "Zenor, that is not how we greet our guests!" Scolded Mona her colleague, before looking back, "my apologize, why don't I show you two, to your rooms and then tell you a bit more about the place and what you will be working on?" she apologized to Kara and Cas, leading them away from where Zenor, Zephyr, and Isabeau stood.

With a bit of a grumble, he looked at the two Mandalorians, "follow me, It's my job to show you your quarters and what your job will entail exactly" he explained before turning left and went down the right hallway, leading towards the base's cargo area.

Zenor led Isabeau and Zephyr down the hallway, having multiple wide windows on their right side, giving them a view of space and current the large ship they arrived with.

However on the left they would pass by multiple doors, all labeled for all manners of different areas. Some would lead them deeper into the facility, while others just led them into office rooms or smaller cargo holds. This area very much looked like where the cargo would be placed when the cargo had been sorted through.

Passing through the large cargo bay, where all the crates would be placed, they entered a thin hallway, only room for about two people to stand beside each other. Some crates even stood in the hallway, causing them to walk around, which meant that when they passed other people, they also had to walk in one line down the hallway. To say that this facility was built with luxury in mind, would be an understatement.

With multiple doors on each side of the thin, almost claustrophobic hallway, they started to walk up a staircase, leading up to a slightly more open area. "This is the 2rd floor and where your sleeping quarters have been assigned" explained Zenor in a very militarized manner as he led them down another hallway, though not nearly as long and opened a door, with a number 6 on the door.

Leading them into their sleeping area, they were met with a medium-sized room, a bed in each side of the room, up against the wall. A single desk with a lamp and a worn office's chair. Each had their own wardrobe for whatever they might have packed for the trip and an average-sized window with a view out to the endless space.

Waiting by the open door, Zenor gave Isabeau and Zephyr their time to place their things, before leading them out and down the stairs again.
0ecf4baa0d9731cbcb628f308dbe99c2.jpg
Coming back down the long claustrophobic hallway, he led them through another door, which led them into a new hallway, which was a bit wider. Coming halfway down the hallway, they would be led into the security office.

The security office was double the size of Isabeau and Zephyr's room and had a gun-safe with blasters in on the opposite side. Besides that, there was a row of lockers, 5 to be exact, to the left of the gun-safe, each having their own nametag. On the other end of the room, right of where Isabeau and Zephyr stood, was some old computers, if any of the security needed to write reports or other work-related things. Leading the two Mandalorians to two lockers, "these two will be yours to stash your stuff when you're done for the day" explained Zenor as he led them out of the security and back into the long thin hallway again.

Zenor then started to show them the rest of the areas, the mess hall, crew lounge for relaxing, training room, and then how to cross over to the two other smaller rock islands. He also introduced the Mandalorians to the research team and a single engineer by the name of Dawil. The two smaller rock islands, which was where the main research was being worked on. Leading the two Mandalorians back to the security office, he each gave them a keycard two most of the base that was needed for them to do their job. Facing Isabeau and Zephyr, he looked at the clock, "looks like dinner will be ready in about 15 minutes" explained Zenor, and gave them directions for the mess hall.

************

Leading the Jedi with her, Mona started to explain about the outpost's history and how it came to be as she started to lead the Jedi through many of the same areas, as Isabeau and Zephyr, though not so they would pass each other on the way. While Cas and Kara weren't shown the security office, however, they were shown their sleeping quarters, which had the number 3. They were then lead into the research laps, given them the grand tour, talking about the progress they have been making, and so on.

The whole outpost had a very dull and boring yellow paint job and wasn't exactly fun to look at. Not only that, but a lot of crates were placed in the thin hallways, as well as wires and cables, running along the hallways, connecting to multiple rooms and areas. The Jedi was also lead

850532df168e8e7815265bebaee1adda.jpg
Mona looked at the clock, "oh, there will soon be dinner" expressed the scientist with a smile and led the Jedi back to the mess hall, which they would see Isabeau and Zephyr enter the opposite end. The food was pretty tasty and with a variant. In a corner stood a minibar for those that wanted a drink, though it only had a couple of different bottles.

The people that the group met as they were shown around, was the security team of 3, Zenor, Lars, and Vek. Zenor came off as rather disgruntle about Jedi and favourable towards Mandalorians. Lars was bigger than the two others, he sat most of the time by the security computer, watching over the area. And lastly, the group met Vek, a smaller guy, and patrolled the eastern side of the base, whereas Zenor patrolled the western side.

Then the group met the research team, which entailed, Mona, Zika, Inira and Kla'ak. Mona came off as very cheerful and welcoming, whereas Zika, while smiling, wanted just to focus on her work. Inira was happy to show what she was working on when Cas and Kara came by, while Kla'ak waved, as he was very focused on not messing up what he worked on.

The engineer worked on the lower part of the base, where it got rather hot, due to the heat emanating off of the roaring generators, keeping the rest of the facility and outpost from hitting below freezing.

Finally, both groups were introduced to the cook and doctor in the facility. The cook was a large man, showed an appreciation for food and loved to tell long tales of the places he's been on. the doctor, however, found great pleasure in Pazaak and always managed to beat Zenor, which always complained about his cards being bad.

Shortly after she resumed her studies, a knock on her door serve as yet another interruption. The officer left before she could respond to his message, likely to inform the other passengers of the other unusual passengers that they had arrived at their destination.

Kara placed the compact holoprojectors and holopads she used for her study back in the heavy case that stood next to her desk. The box was completely secure, able to withstand the vacuum of space should it be exposed to it. It was a little heavy, but nothing Kara couldn't handle. Once she had gathered her stuff, the Kel Dor made her way to the cargo bay.

Once she found the shuttle that would take them to the base, Kara turned to thank the crew members one final time for their hospitality. It wasn't a passenger ship, so the fact that they had transported them to the base was very kind of them. Although Kara would have preferred to take a shuttle of her own. She liked having her freedom, meaning that this mission wasn't exactly up her alley. But the words of the council were the law, which meant that she had no choice but to accept the mission they had bestowed upon her.

Arriving at the station, the party was greeted by two individuals. The man looked rather stern, while the woman appeared to be more friendly. After they introduced themselves as Zenor and Mona, Kara would introduce herself in return. "I am Kara Dur, Jedi Knight. I look forward to working with you." She stated, putting emphasis on her words with a short and yet respectful bow. She ignored the rather rude comment of Zenor; it would have been rather immature of her to respond to such a comment. Luckily, she wouldn't have to put up with the man for long. Mona immediately led her and the other Jedi away from the others.

Kara tried to memorize the many corridors and rooms of the stations as Mona guided the pair through them. The sooner she knew her way around the station, the earlier she could test its security. Once they met the research team, Kara would introduce herself again. With curiosity, she listened to Inira's explanations, asking a couple of question to keep their conversation going. The team that worked here was friendly and kind, despite being such a closely knit group. It made her wonder how many people they had met in the past few years, who weren't part of their research group.

After the final few introductions were made, Kara would excuse herself, as she wanted to get settled in. They were going to spent a lot of time here after all, so it seemed like a good idea to start unpacking.

"I don't doubt that, I'm awful at this." He replied with a chuckle as he sorted the cards and put them away before returning his gaze to Isabeau's, only for her to tease him. "Hey." He pointed at her with an accusatory finger. "It was one poorly-thought comment, let it go." He told her, though his smile suggested that he saw the humour in it too and he clearly wasn't irritated. "I'm not! We know each other." He defended himself to Isabeau though did nothing to warn her about the potential awkwardness as she approached Cas since he found the situation rather comical.

Zephyr laughed at Cas' quip and gave the Padawan a hearty slap on the back. "I like this one." He proclaimed as he raised an eyebrow at Cas' next comment. "Where are you from?" He asked, intrigued about what culture Cas came from that gave such high regard to Mandalorians. "Well I never got paid so-" He shrugged, appearing relaxed with the situation. "I'm Zephyr, by the way." He introduced himself and held out a hand to Cas, though he made no attempt to apologise for trying to hunt him, and as he did, they were approached and told of their arrival. "See you later then." He said to Cas before grabbing his helmet and heading back to their cabins with Isabeau.

After retrieving a large duffle bag from his room, he slung it over his shoulder and followed the stream of people heading towards the cargo bay. "What are they all so happy about?" He whispered to Isabeau when everyone kept acting cheery towards them. Zephyr smirked at the praise received by the other man and glanced at the Jedi to see their reactions. They were soon led away to their sleeping quarters by a less than enthusiastic man, though he was more refreshing than the overly cheery woman.

Upon seeing the room, he realised he would be rooming with Isabeau for the next six months but was unfazed so said nothing on the matter other than idly commenting "Cosy" as he placed his bag at the foot of one of the beds. Next, they were taken to the security office and given a tour of the station but when they were shown the training room he nudged Isabeau suggestively and gave her a playful smile, hoping she could gauge his thoughts from it. "Thanks." Zephyr concluded their tour with Zenor once they were back in the security office.

They were led back to the mess hall and rejoined the Jedi to meet the rest of the crew. Once they met everyone, Zephyr slid into a seat at one of the tables to wait for dinner, though he was eyeing up the minibar. After a few moments of contemplation, he rose from his seat and gravitated towards the minibar, though not before declaring to Isabeau "I'll be back in a minute." He returned a few moments later with a couple of bottles of something he had never heard of before and offered one to Isabeau. "This isn't so bad." He concluded with a content sigh before taking a swig of the drink.

An amused eyebrow rose as she raised a jestfully patronising tone "Don't give me that. Poorly thought out comments are your speciality" Flashing a cheeky smile, she held out a hand to take the cards and put into her pocket.

Soon, she sat at the bench along side Cas whom she had just kindly brought in after Zephyr's call for him to join. She didn't want to show any open 'conflict' with her fellow Mandalorian yet and looked away from the two, smiling brightly at the wall whilst Cas gave her ori'vod a piece of his mind. Turning to a Mandalorian's best friend, she eventually tied up her hair into a messy bun and took on her helmet. Now she could return to the conversation without risk. The conversation did sweep past a rather convenient point which allowed her to make it all seem a little more natural "Well, this is me. Now you'll recognise me both in and out of the helmet"

A devious smile grew on her lips as Cas mentioned how it had been an honour to be hunted by a Mandalorian. The pieces of the puzzle started to fall in place until she finally asked - desperately trying to hold back any laughter - "Ori'vod, this Jetii got away from you?" Everything seemed to confirm it and with this, she could no longer contain herself. Laughter started slipping out until, desperately 'demoting' him "Vod! What would your Alor say?" Finally, she took off the helmet, seeing no point in hiding her amusement anymore. Leaning over to Cas, she spoke with a slightly more serious tone "No offense, Jetii, I just had higher expectations of him" A mischievous smile flashed across her features "Maybe we could be sparring partners after Zephyr's self respect demands that he takes a break" The young Mandalorian sent a devious glance at Zephyr - she had all the respect in the world for him - he was a capable warrior and reliable ally. But sometimes, he just deserved to be taken down a notch. It was not long before they were told to head leave.

Lingering a few more moments, Isabeau leaned forth to look the Jetii in the eyes. "But I wasn't joking. I want to learn of your tricks" she said before taking her helmet on and taking a few quick steps to catch up with Zephyr. The time to play around was nearing its end. There was no doubt that the girl was grateful for being brought along on the job, and she had no intentions of letting him down. With that in mind, she truly did commit to paying attention to her surroundings, analysing whatever details she could from behind the anonymity which the T-visor offered.

Tour with Zephyr & Zenor
"What are they all so happy about?" he asked upon which he only received a shrug at first. Still maintaining her attention at what was happening and trying to absorb as much of the surroundings as possible, she replied rather absent-mindedly "Maybe they're just happy to see you." For most other interactions during this part, Isabeau would remain quiet and let Zephyr be the one to take the spotlight whenever anything social was needed, whether it was a comment or simply a nod, showing that they still listened.

It was fortunate that she didn't fear tight spaces, although, if the scientists decided to revolt, it would be more restrictive than she would have liked. Usually, Isabeau preferred larger areas with more space to manoeuvre in and this was definitely not it with its narrow corridors and cramped spaces filled with inconveniently stacked crates. But then, the likelihood that the scientists would revolt was probably just as low as the likelihood that she'd get the taste of real combat before leaving the station.

Quite satisfied with the bed chamber, Isabeau settled down by the bed which Zephyr did not pick. They were only stopping by for a short bit, so she simply left the bag there before moving on, casually replying "Every Mandalorian's dream" with a cartoonishly light tone. Taking off and clipping the helmet to her belt, Isabeau gained a broad smile to meet Zephyr's. While she had found a few ways to stay active on the shuttle, it seemed like there would finally be some facilities which could truly be utilised efficiently. Not to mention the space in which they could spar. It was, in short, perfect - at least when compared to a shuttle.

Finally nearing the end of the tour, a chance to speak to some of the locals presented itself. While she stood in silence for most of it, she did manage to ask Dawil the Engineer if he could fight before moving on. She had Zephyr and Cas, sure, but two people over six months could get boring fast, and while excited for the job, the young Mandalorian had no interest in letting her skills deteriorate all too much.

Mess hall
While the Kel Dor Jetii - Kara Dur - seemed to entertain herself with the scientists, covering topics which was of little interest to Isabeau. Remaining relatively idle whilst waiting for the food, she then turned, looking at Zephyr what an expression of both confusion and amusement. What was he even offering? He had already had some himself without anything too bad happening, but without knowing what it was, Isabeau's interest in it was low - who knew what crazy ideas these science people could think of? Instead, she shook her head and stood up, gently redirecting Zephyr's extended hand towards the padawan. "Cas, look here, a peace offering" she said, with a broad smile. With that, she left the former hunter and huntee to their own devices.

From time to time, the young Mandalorian would glance at the more senior jedi sitting next to her. A 'Jedi Knight' - surely she must have seen some action, right? The chef in all honour, but this one could be genuinely interesting. Or a typical Jetii, disgusted by the idea of 'glorifying violence'. Without much to loose, she spoke up "I'm Isabeau" making a rather blunt entry to the conversation, presenting herself to both the Jedi and the scientists. "Do you have any war stories?" she asked, politely turning to look at each and everyone of them before stopping at the Jetii.

Cas' head toppled in response to the slap on the back he received from the Mandalorian, he chuckled slightly "I'm from Kiffu." he revealed. A snicker escaped the Padawan upon hearing his former hunter actually didn't get paid for his failed bounty. As Isabeau placed her helmet back on and teased her counterpart, Cas simply leaned back and watched in enjoyment before waving his hand off when Isabeau removed her helmet and addressed him "It's cool." he assured her.

The Kiffar flashed his teeth in a grin of agreement when the female Mandalorian proposed that the two spar sometime. When she leaned closer to look him in the eyes, he would meet hers with his own "What I got can't be taught." he winked, referring to his Force-sensitivity. Finally, his former adversary finally introduced himself as Zephyr and as Cas was about to take his hand and shake it, they were informed of their arrival at the facility.

******
After gathering everything he needed in a rucksack, he met up with everyone else at the facility where they were greeted by Zenor and Mona - two people on opposite sides of the emotional spectrum, a moody old man, well old to him, and an enthusiastic woman. He was so taken aback by Zenor's comment that he neglected to introduce himself to Mona, Cas' face contorted into a scowl as he was prepared to make a rude remark but he was stopped in his tracks when Mona started on their tour of the facility.

As they were led on the tour, Cas filtered out the history lesson being explained to him and the Jedi Knight, Kara Dur - he was too busy concerned on what the hell he was meant to do for six months, he was beginning to regret taking on this assignment... not like he had many other choice anyway. They were led to their quarters where they'd be rooming together for the next six months... he hoped Kara wasn't the typical Jedi Knight, six months of that would get old real fast.

Now at the Mess Hall, Cas gave a short introduction to the rest of the people on board before gravitating to the food, the teen made his way to where they'd be serving food so he could be first in line. He was starving. But Isabeau's voice called out to him again, something about a peace offering? He approached Zephyr and Isabeau only for the former to actually leave as he got there. Scratching his temple "Uh... what? As far as social queues go, you don't call someone over and then leave?" he watched as the female Mandalorian walked away, he then tilted his head upward to address the much taller Mando "Six months, huh? Got any ideas on not how to lose your mind? Reckon you could smuggle me off this facility?" he joked with an undercurrent of seriousness.

As dinner was underway, the final person on the base finally joined the rest. The Site manager introduced himself to the newly arrived four people, happy to see them interacting with his staff. "Ah, I'm happy to see that you all are settling in," said Morgan Cage with a smile. "If you have any questions, don't hesitate to come up to the top floor of our little heaven in space, and ask away" explained the 60-year-old Site Manager.

After dinner, people started to spread out, since most of them were done for the day. Dawil went over to the table where Cas, Isabeau and Zephyr sat and gave them all a friendly smile. "Any of your fresh spawns who like a round of pool?" Asked the engineer, trying to make the new people feel welcome. "And no, I not really a fighter, I just fix what people destroy" added Dawil, looking to Isabeau, to answer her question.

"Well, I'm going to go and relax with a game of pool, you're all welcome to join me," said the 25-years-old and left with a lot of the other people in the mess hall, "there's also a pazaak table for those of you, who want to challenge Quinn, our doc here" called Dawil pointing to the medical doctor on the facility who was in the middle of a conversation with Kla'ak about a philosophical subject too far away for any of them to hear.

However, when Quinn heard his name, he stopped the conversation and looked at Cas, Isabeau and Zephyr, "that can wait, I haven't extracted your blood yet" explained the doctor, "It's for safety reason if you injure yourself and are in need of blood" explained Quinn in more details, just so they wouldn't get the wrong idea. Looking at Cas, "could you go get your Jedi Kara? She is required to get blood extracted and stored" said Quinn and turned back to Isabeau and Zephyr. "Now, if you two will follow me down to my Blood Lap," said the medical doctor with both his hands behind his back.

When the two Mandalorians got up to follow him, he would turn to Cas one last time, "the Blood Lap is the last door on the right, before entering the eastern bridge. you can't miss it" and with that, he led the two Mandalorians out of the Mess Hall and down the long narrow corridor reach all the way from one end of the rock to the other side. Opening the door, Isabeau and Zephyr were greeted with a white room, a single chair, a row of tables on the opposite wall from where they stood. On the tables were all manners of equipment were placed, many of which, to examine blood and handle samples.

To the left stood two cabinets in grey, both with locks. to the right of the two cabinets and left of the table that stood closest to the left wall, had a chair. "If one of you will take a seat, then we can begin" explained Quinn as he went to get tools to extract blood.

Extracting the blood didn't take long and once the progress had begun, it was over before they knew it. However, filling up the bag did cause dizziness and a slight headache as 470 ml was filled up in a transparent bag, until it was completely full. With a pen, Quinn wrote Isabeau and Zephyr's names on it and went over to one of the cabinets, unlocked it and hang the bags among all the others. When both Mandalorians had filled a bag up, they were allowed to leave and do whatever they wanted, while Quinn prepared for Cas and Kara.

What Isabeau and Zephyr would notice when they were walking away from the Blood Lap, was how eerie the station became. When people weren't working, it felt like a ghost town, with how the creaking of the floor they were walking on and rumbling of some distant pipes.

Same process for Cas and Kara, same dizziness and light headache, which, like the Mandalorians, got some chocolate and a cup of sweet fizzy drink to help them recover. Those that went to join people in the common room, were met with light chatter between Inira and Mona. While Barnet sat in the sofa, telling the same old story about that time he had to fight off a swarm of Kiliks. By the Pazaak table, sat Zika and Zenor, playing a relaxing game of Pazaak.

By the pool table, were Dawil playing by himself, keeping his skills sharp. Kla'ak was nowhere to be seen though. On another sofa, placed to face each other with a table in the middle and a holoscreen up on the wall by the end of the sofas, laid Lars in one, smoking some Luna-weed, sharing it with Vek. On the holoscreen, was one of the prerecorded older movies.

"Kiffu? That's uh... not something I've heard of." He confessed. At the change in Isabeau's demeanour which suggested her finding the situation humorous, Zephyr frowned at his companion who began to mock him. "No! I left because it wasn't worth the fight. He had someone with him who I wasn't expecting and it was too much hassle." He tried to justify himself, though Isabeau continued to poke fun at him. He returned her gaze but looked unimpressed at having his pride brought into question but he put his helmet back on as they left for the station and said nothing more.

*****

Zephyr raised an eyebrow at Isabeau's response as it didn't seem like she fully gripped the situation but he let it slide as they had other things to attend to. The tour was extensive but useful as the station would serve as their home for the next six months. It wasn't particularly glamorous but it was safer than being under the looming threat of the Sith Empire so he was glad when Isabeau had agreed to come as it would offer her some more safety as well as companionship for the lone Mandalorian who had recently accepted the new friend into his life - albeit begrudgingly at first.

Once they were back in the mess hall, Isabeau summoned the Padawan over under false pretences. "What? I'm not here to make friends, I-" Zephyr started in response but stopped as Cas neared within earshot. "Yeah, that's Isabeau for you." He replied with a fond look at his companion as she left to speak to the other Jedi. "Yeah, drinks." He answered Cas' question by holding up the other drink towards his temporary ally before chuckling at his next question. "That's on you. You wouldn't be in this predicament if you had just let me catch you." He joked. "They didn't want you dead." He shrugged.

The conversation was cut short as they were addressed by one of the crew, prompting a blank look from the Mandalorian who was left wondering why everyone seemed so happy again. "Extracted our blood?" Zephyr repeated with a puzzled look as he glanced at Isabeau to see if she felt the same but with no arguments from either, they were soon on their way to the lab with the doctor. Without exchanging any words, Zephyr opted to have the procedure first and removed the armour covering his forearm then handed it to Isabeau along with his helmet before settling in the seat.

Once finished, he took his belongings back off Isabeau and held his hand out in offer to take hers before replacing his own armour and accepting the chocolate and drink then replacing his helmet once he had finished. When both were cleared, they walked back out into the corridor with Zephyr being rather idle in his stroll. "This is one of the weirder jobs I've done." He admitted as they walked to nowhere in particular, suddenly becoming aware of how lonesome the ship felt without workers lining the corridors. "Where do you want to go?" He asked but only to answer his own question moments later. "The common room." He suggested, leading the way.

Zephyr glanced around the faces in the common room before settling his gaze on Dawil and walking over to him. "May I join you?" He asked, picking up a cue and glancing over his shoulder at Isabeau to see if she would join him or socialise elsewhere.

Cas snickered at Zephyr's joke, accepting the drink and taking a sip of it. He clenched his eyes tight and shook his head violently "Man, this is bad... maybe alcohol isn't for me." before placing the glass somewhere else, he glanced around the Mess Hall - "Who was the employer anyway?" Cas inquisitively asked, folding his arms. Before he would get his answer though, they were interrupted by a member of the crew.

"Uh... alright?" the Padawan wasn't comfortable with his blood being taken by someone he'd just met... but there was no use arguing. With a shrug, he made his way to where Kara was last seen - after asking the scientists where she went, he was directed back to his and Kara's shared room. Making his way there, he couldn't help but realise how creepy... and uncomfortable this place was - he had a bad feeling about this. Activating the door to his quarters, he would find the Kel Dor Jedi unpacking the rest of her things.

Placing one of his hands in his pockets, he raised his free one and cleared his throat "'Sup? Sorry to disturb you, looks like you're having a blast." he joked "But uh... we gotta give blood for medical reasons. Yeah, I'm not comfortable with it either but... what can we do." Cas would then gesture for her to follow. Remembering the directions Quinn gave him, he followed them to a T. After arriving at the lab, Cas begrudgingly allowed Quinn to extract his blood much to his discomfort, feeling dizzy and lightheaded, "Don't... don't do anything weird with that, okay?" he quipped one last time before waiting for Kara to finish hers.

When it was all over, Cas alongside the Jedi Knight made their way to the common room while drinking the fizzy drink he was given. "How're you feeling about this assignment? I... I don't know why, but I get a bad feeling..." he revealed, hoping for some kind of assurance from the more experienced Jedi "Maybe I'm just anxious..."

Now at the common room - he didn't realise how beat he was... so, instead of doing anything active he would approach Lars and Vek, watching holomovies and smoking Luna-weed. Ignoring the smell, he sat on the couch with them and greeted them with a "Hey." before sinking into the couch and turning his attention to the holofilm - it was a dramatisation of the Clone Wars with made-up Jedi as the protagonists. Cool.

Her conversation with Inira was cut short, when the youngest of the two Mandalorians intervened. Yes, the Jedi Knight had noticed that the two, while a rare sight nowadays, were in fact Mandalorians. She eyed the young Mandlorian for a moment when she introduced herself as Isabeau. Her interests were quickly revealed as she asked the small group for war stories. The scientist each shook their heads, causing her hopeful green eyes to settle on the Jed Knight. "I have... But none of them are as heroic or colorful as told by your people." She stated with a calm and soft voice, albeit her mask still produced a deep and muffled sound. "We can discuss it another time. Right now, I'd like to bring my stuff to my room." She followed her explanation with a tap on the metal case she carried with her. With a slight bow to Isabeau and the researchers, the Jed Knightess left the welcoming committee for what it was, and began the search for her room.

******* THEME *******

Untitled-1.jpg

As Kara strolled through the station's outer walkway, her attention was drawn to the beautiful red nebula. The space station was eerily quiet; even the Living Force seemed to be uncomfortable here. Placing the metal case beside her, the Jed Knightess clasped her hands behind her back and reached out to the Force. This place felt so secluded from the wars that tore the galaxy apart. And yet, she couldn't help but notice the ominous ripples which moved through the Force. She couldn't make sense of what it was trying to tell her. Was the Force warning her? Signaling her to leave, before something terrible would happen? If so, there was no way she could leave these people behind. She was a Jedi Knight, and it was her duty to protect them.

For a moment, she just stood there. Staring into the abyss that was space, contemplating on her decision to come here.

***************

After she finally unpacked her stuff and felt like she could spend the remaining six months in this station, she heard the voice of her fellow Jedi behind her. Truth be told, they hand't really spoken on their journey so far. Kara was ashamed to admit it, but she was a little shy when it came to talking with strangers. Kel Dor weren't exactly loved, after all. She listened to Cas his message, nodding along as he mentioned giving blood. "Better safe than sorry. You'll never know when it comes to use." She responded, following the young Jedi to the medical bay.

Once she had given a few pointers as to how a Kel Dor's blood should be extracted (their physiology was different from humans), she looked with intrigue at how Quinn performed his job. After they were done, her curiosity got the better of her. "What is going to happen to our blood? Stored here for safekeeping" She asked Quinn, before they left the room.

How're you feeling about the assignment? The question popped up as they were on their way to the common room. It was a good question, one she had no real answer to herself. "You're not the only one.. Can you sense it? Even the Force feels disturbed. And it frustrates me that I can't tell why." The Kel Dor was as honest as she could be. She knew that she wasn't making herself popular with her anti social behaviour, but she couldn't help but rely on a 'trust no one' mentality. Not until she could fully comprehend the Force its warning. For now, she would remain observant.

After she accompanied Cas to the doorstep of the common room, the Jedi Knight saw him off and decided to return to her room, with a small detour. Again, she chose to walk through the outer walkways. Her lone footsteps echoing through the ominous spacestation as the Kel Dor studied her surroundings.

While her time on the research station had been pleasant so far, it would soon come to be filled with disappointments. The more senior Jedi had declined regaling her of old war stories, the site manager seemed old and boring, engineer Dawil said that he wasn't a fighter and Doctor Quinn disrupted the newcomers' plans with some routine blood-sucking activity. With a sigh, she rose from her seat and accompanied Zephyr and the middle-aged doctor to the lab.

She observed the man as he lead the way - balding and a little chubby. While time could change many a person, it did not look like this one had been much of a fighter, ever. And his idea of collecting her blood while she was itching for a good workout after all that time in the ship did not earn him any plus points either. Deciding that she wasn't going to let some softie squander her first day, Isabeau quietly slipped away as they turned a corner, mumbling something about a belly ache to Zephyr before making herself scarce.

Entering a light jog, she quickly made her way to the training room, exploring the available facilities and doing a light and brief workout. It was barely enough to make her break a light sweat - it ended much sooner because the girl intended to intercept Zephyr on his way back to the mess hall. The corridors mostly stood empty, but once familiar with the floor plates, it was at least possible to avoid having them creak when she moved. Memorising where to step would be a 'fun' activity during her patrols - if she were even to have any of those. Once she had caught up with him, he commented on the job being weird upon which she simply shrugged and joked "Don't make me regret coming along"

Before she even had a chance to answer his question, Zephyr made an executive decision and lead her to the common room. With crossed arms and heavy footsteps, she grumbled "This is not the way" Once there, she kept an eyed the different people who were gathered and finally decided to walk up to Zephyr and Dawil - though her intentions were never to play pool. "Let's spar" she said enthusiastically with an excited sparkle to her eye whilst looking up at Zephyr. "You too!" she continued, waving for the engineer to come over. Her lips already carrying a friendly smile as she continued "There's no better way of getting to know someone than through combat. And if not, we could just chat too, right?" Starting to pull at the two a little, she moved on, hoping that they would come along.

Before moving to the training facility, she stopped by the padawan and the large Chef "You two should come too. It'll be fun" the excitement in her voice remained. She threw a glance at the film, waiting until a part which seemed dull before crouching by the sofa. Looking up at the two, she continued pushing for them to come "The more the merrier, right? Besides, it's our first night here, we should get to know each other a bit better" With that, she got back up on her feet, offering a hand to help anyone willing to get back up on their feet. Whether all four would be joining her or if she would have to go alone, Isabeau then went back to the training room. Hopefully to finally spar in good facilities, and if not, at least get some training done.

As the days went by, it became increasingly clear that the young Mandalorian had other priorities than letting the doctor take her blood. There was always something more fun or exciting to do, and always an excuse to get away. In fact, if the guy kept pestering her, she would simply respond with presenting an offer: If he agreed to spar with her, she would agree to let him take her blood afterwards. These could become six long months, but she was clearly trying to make the best of it.

Quinn was understanding of their question as they did come out of nowhere. While placing Zephyr's blood bag in the cabinet with all the others, putting a nametag on the blood bag, he answered the purple-armoured Mandalorian, "As I said, if something were to happen to you, and you lose a lot of blood, we can't exactly just deliver you to a hospital" explained the bald doctor, turning back to Zephyr to sit down in the chair again. As Zephyr would leave, Quinn called right before the Mandalorian would leave to room, "I still need your friend to come by to have her blood extracted. It's for her own safety. If you won't get her to do it, I will have to pressure her into going, and we don't want that" called the doctor as he wrote in his journal.

Hearing Cas and Kara enter, he just managed to finish writing in his journal and turned around, greeting both Jedi with a hand directed for one of them to take a seat. Hearing the younger male begrudgingly letting him, an eyebrow rose, before extracting Cas's blood into the same transparent bag as the others. "Come now, that wasn't so bad. I assure you, they are only here for if an emergency would arise. Just precautions for if bad things were to happen to you" explained, giving Cas some to help against the slight headache and dizziness.

Looking at Kara, "Yes, these bags will be under lock and only come in use if you lose enough blood to where it becomes critical and simple patching won't do" explained Quinn to Kara and once the two Jedi left, turned Quinn to his journal to write the Jedi in as well.

~~~~~~~~~~
Hearing Zephyr, Dawil looked up and a smile formed, "knock yourself out" and started to set the pieces up for them to play against each other. When Cas planted his butt in the sofa, Lars and Vek greeted him back, "hey", though their attention was on the movie. Drawing in the smoke from the moon-weed, the sweet taste and relaxing effect from the moon-weed joint really was the kicker needed after a long and boring day.
Handing Vek the joint, who also enjoyed it, taking a few puffs on it, before handing it to Cas, indirectly asking if he wanted to smoke as well. The movie was on a scene with some lightsaber-wielding droid with 8 arms, completely over-the-top looking monster, causing Lars to just roll his eyes, "I'm telling you, that General Monstrous always seemed so over the top and fake" commented Lars unimpressed, even though he had seen the movie way too many times since he joined the team on the station.
Vek looked from the movie, taking the weed, giving it a puff, inhaling the smoke. "Yea, that fella always seemed made up. Like, who would come up with a Jedi killing droid using Lightsabers. Just seem far-fetched" agreed Vek, handing the weed back to Lars.
Dawil had lined his shot up, and just as he was about to hit his pool to the ball, Isabeau interrupted them playing, causing Dawil to completely miss his shot, not hitting the striped ball for the hole. "Awh man, that doesn't count!" he quickly pointed out and turned to face Isabeau. "Spar? I'm not really a fighter by any means, I'm just an engineer. But I'll watch if you two are going to spar, always wanted to see Mandalorians fight" suggested the engineer and looked to Zephyr, "If you, of course, want to, I don't mind either activity. Well, as long as I don't have to fight" said Dawil with a smile.
"Fighting you say? That reminded me of that one fight I had to wrestle a Tusken Raider on Tatooine!" Started the chef and completely forget about what Isabeau asked about, as he started to ramble on about old times.
Without even looking at Isabeau, despite her excitement in the voice, "nah, we're too wasted for sparing. Maybe tomorrow," said Vek. Both didn't really give much excitement from their voices, but that might just be the moon-weed's affecting them.
~~~Couple of weeks later~~~
//OOC - We will start to go by weeks, for now. And you will have pretty free reign to do what you wanna do.//

Over the first couple of weeks, Cas and Kara have been given their own keycards, giving them access to the security room and the doors to the two labs "islands". The Mandalorians was given pretty free reign to when they wanted to do their patrolling on the station. As long as they patrolled 10 hours per day, they could do them when they felt like it. While 10 hours felt like much, they were allowed 4 breaks on half an hour, before they had to get back to work. Since Zenor and Vek already started patrolling around 8 am in the morning, could the two Mandalorians do it later.

However, Isabeau heard Quinn every once in a while, no matter where it was, that he would stubbornly usher her to let him extract blood from her. Ensuring her that it was for her own safety since he didn't have the means to safe her if she lost too much blood if something were to happen.

While Cas and Kara had been assigned as security guards. Instead, they were tasked with improving the security system where they could and keep a journal of the facilities security. The Jedi Council also wanted the Jedi to writ in their journal the effect of isolation, interview the people on the station. How they did their research and interviews was up to Cas and Kara. Whether it would be the traditional way of interviewing people, or more a questionnaire type.

As hours turned into days, and days turned into weeks, boredom quickly became a very real thing for four people on the station. The same painted coloured corridors every. single. day. and the feeling claustrophobic critter ever so slowly tried to creep in on whenever they walked through the base. The outside corridor did have windows, big ones at that, but even staring out into space, seeing the same darkness with a few spots of colour from distant
nebulas.

The creaking of the floors all over the station also became part of the four's daily routine. However, it was during nighttime, that a person would feel truly alone if they were alone. The creaking of the floor, mixed in with the rumbling of distant pipes really made the station feel abandoned. Often the few people awake during the night, was Lars, watching the screen just out of habit, half-asleep in his chair. Another was Kla'ak, sitting alone in the lab, working on some of his side projects, leaving only a few dim lit lights on.

Another was Morgan, but he often came off as off-putting, spooky or creepy. Not for doing anything revolting or disgusting, but for how he always seemed to come out of nowhere, suddenly asking them mundane questions. Some of these questions could be, "did you enjoy today's food?", or "hope you're enjoying your time here". Often times when either the Mandalorians or Jedi might be walking through the corridors, they would see Morgan cross over further up, but when they went to look for him, he was nowhere to be seen. Then without a sound stand behind them, with his hands behind his back, just standing with a friendly smile, before walking away.

Morgan was a weird man, even the other people on the station said he was an oddball. Only coming down for dinner and when its night time on the station. Dawil was even sure that Morgan was a ghost, with how he always managed to disappear one moment, when looking for him and then scare the living crap out of one the next.

"Oh, yeah... right." He replied to the doctor, understanding but not totally convinced by the answer. What did they expect to happen to them? He wondered. As far as he was concerned, the job was relatively low-risk, at least by Mandalorian standards so such precautions seemed extreme. Lingering in the doorway as the doctor spoke to him, Zephyr nodded in response. "Ok, I'll try." He responded, though he knew he would be unable to get Isabeau to do something she didn't want to.

*****

Zephyr was caught by surprise by Isabeau's offer and let out a puzzled "What?" as she suggested sparring. "Isabeau, we don't do that in polite company." He told her in a firm tone, trying to warn her that it may be inappropriate. He was unsure of her own history but Zephyr remembered a time before the Mandalorians and some differences between the two cultures which suggested that most people weren't as accustomed to casual sparring. "I'm down for it." He shrugged in response to the engineer and joined the pair to the training room.

*****

The routine had gotten dull after a week and the usual traveller was growing restless aboard the station as he wasn't used to such a mundane lifestyle. The only saving grace was that Isabeau was with him and he enjoyed her company, however dull the situation may be. He managed to get comfortable with her very quickly after they spent most waking moments together but it seemed that conversations ran dry at times as they have no new experiences to talk about and life outside the station almost ceased to exist to those on-board.

The pair had been patrolling the corridors for a couple of hours now with nothing to report, the same as every other day. They often received the odd acknowledgement but they would regularly get interference from a man who they were told was called Morgan who seemed oddly forthcoming. Zephyr quickly grew tired of him and became more blunt with the man as time went on in an effort to prevent him from engaging with them. As they neared their break, Zephyr turned to Isabeau, smiling beneath his helmet. "Pazaak?" He offered.

Morgan wasn't the only individual aboard the space station who stalked through the hallways. It was an uncommon occurrence to find Kara in the mess hall, kitchen or common room. Even in the middle of the night, Kara could sometimes be found watching the Nebulae and stars with a concerned or pained expression. The first few days after their arrival on the space station, Morgan had managed to startle her. But nowadays, she could tell exactly where and when Morgan would show up in her vicinity.

Besides her occasional conversation with the eccentric Morgan, Kara spoke a lot with Inira. She even assisted the researcher on several occasions, simultaneously asking her questions about the structure of the space station. Kara did her best to avoid Zenor; his opinions of the Jedi were not something she wished to be reminded of daily. Mona, however, was someone she occasionally met with, discussing the gaps she found in the security system. Mona was also the first person Kara interviewed on the effects of isolation. But in the meantime, Kara conducted an investigation of her own. It was the reason why she wandered through the hallways, searching for that which she felt was out of place. She usually ended her daily routine with some work on her own study.

The secure metal case she had brought with her to the station, was filled with the fragile components that could be used to construct Jedi holocrons. For that was her current study as a Consular: building holocrons, and storing information within them. Kara used the one she had successfully constructed to record her daily reports, knowing that it was only accessible to her and Cas.

****

For once, the Jedi Knight wasn't roaming through the walkways of the space station. Kara sat in a comfortable chair in the common room, with a holopad in her hands. Reading a Kel Dor's facial expressions was difficult, but she clearly looked puzzled. And why? Because she was losing her third game of online Quantum chess in a row. A part of her wanted to blame the matchmaking, but that couldn't be all there was to it. It was truly a great way to get frustrated on your day off.

"You kiddin' me? General Monstrous is totally believable, especially his lightsaber obsession." Cas argued, turning his head slightly to face Lars while his eyes were still locked on the projection. Then came Isabeau asking those on the couch if they wanted to spar, Cas waited for Lars and Vek to give their answers before lightly shaking his own head "Naw, I'm good." his eyes were glued to the projection "I'm enjoying this waaaaay too much." he stated through a chuckle. This holofilm was great, unironically.

********
A couple of weeks passed and the Padawan was completely, and utterly done with this assignment. Repeating the same process everyday got tiresome quickly - not to mention this guy, Morgan. Cas was usually a tolerant person but there was something about Morgan that put him off completely, but he couldn't put his finger on it... regardless he attempted to keep his distance from him as much as he could. Cas and Kara were assigned security duty but also, to interview all the crew mates and document the effects of their isolation - tedious stuff but it had to be done. On occasion, he would check on her reports from the holocron that only the two could access.

Over time, Cas had grown fond of Isabeau and Zephyr and would spar with them from time to time or showing them how to use a lightsaber without cutting their hand off. The Padawan also developed a relationship with Lars and Vek over their shared enjoyment of watching old holomovies (though, he didn't share their smoking habits). In fact, on their days off, the three would regularly come together to watch the old holomovies from their collection and critique the holomovie's flaws.

********
It was his day off again, but it wasn't time for him, Lars and Vek to meet up yet. So, as a way to kill time he would try and make friends with Kara - he entered their shared quarters to find her playing some online game, she seemed pretty into it, but Cas placed his hands in his jacket pocket and simply waited for her to notice his presence. "Hey." he said with a smile "Wanna do something?" he asked, glancing at the lightsaber on his hip in hopes she would get what he was implicating. It was good to keep their skills sharp.

It was disappointing - Cas and the other sofa dwellers had stood her up, refusing to go spar in favour of watching fictional characters spar whilst only deteriorating in form themselves. At least Dawil the Engineer was pleasant enough to come along - he was really starting to grow on her, despite lacking the will to meet in combat. And then there was Zephyr - the one person who was truly reliable and trustworthy in this company. It was good to have a fellow Mandalorian present - someone sensible among all the force religion nuts and soft non-Mandalorians. Standing back upright, she looked down on the fools in the sofa and muttered "Mies meg chaab cayata ganar euk at oyacyir par" [Those who fear combat have little to live for] before turning to her two companions in Zephyr and Dawil "Let's go" she said with an incredibly much more friendly tone.

She was getting good - way too good at avoiding the creaky spots on the floor. It was evidence of how much time she spent wandering the corridors of the station, sometimes Zephyr, and sometimes alone. Seated by a table, perhaps more bored than when on patrol, the young Mandalorian watched as her friend, Dawil the Engineer helped her get a couple small holo-recorders to work. With her chin resting on the palm of her hand and a finger tapping against her cheek, Isabeau let out a casual "That Morgan really is a weird one"

Once the little devices were all patched up and ready to go, she thanked the engineer and left him so that both could get back to work. Jogging with a cheerful beat to her step, Isabeau quickly rejoined Zephyr. Her plan was clear - Morgan was bound to have some trick which allowed him to appear out of nowhere and she wanted to find out what it was. With that, she planted the two cameras in locations where she remembered that he had done his little trick before, carefully checking so that nobody could see her doing it except for Zephyr if he paid attention.

Eventually, their shift neared its end and the older Mandalorian suggested that they go for some pazaak. With a surprised, almost sour expression, she looked up at him "Pazaak? This station is making you grow soft, ori'vod. Let's head for the training room instead, maybe Cas or some of the others will come too" her voice was filled with hope as she started to pull the other by the arm. Of course, it would be hard to make him budge if he refused to move - but then, if he was docile enough to suggest pazaak, the likelihood of that seemed slim.

Looking forward to seeing if her surveillance project bore any fruits, Isabeau would continue working and sparring as normal during the time to come. While already getting closer and closer with Zephyr and Dawil the Engineer, she clearly appreciated Cas' presence and respected what could be learned from him whenever he was willing to spar. Although her communication with the doctor and the scientists might be a bit lacking, she would try to maintain good relations with the chef, often times inviting him to spar, or at least watch like Dawil. The nature of having opposing shifts made it hard to maintain good contacts with the other guards - but she would still try to give them a good impression whenever possible

I wrote in this last part in italics because I wasn't quite sure how to deal with the longer time skips. This was mainly to give a rough outline of what kind of behaviour Isabeau would default to if nothing particular happened.
