It had been a while since she had gone on a mission due to her desires to care for Aileni in his early development. However, enough time had passed and Dreidi was now able to feel more comfortable about going out on more dangerous missions. The mission for today was a taster for things to come, she didn't want to jump into the deep end right away but figured it would be good to experience some action with a friend. Hence extending out the invitation to Aiden, he had been through a rough time and Dreidi had not been there at the time to comfort him or support him. Now was her chance and Dreidi was not going to fail a second time at this. Instead, she organised a meeting spot with some information on a Sithspawn creature out in the wilds of Naboo.

At least, Dreidi assumed it was a Sithspawn from the reports, it could also be a Netherworld demon as well. Something she needed to take in mind since the Nether was such a predominate issue on Naboo.

Stretching her arms and legs, Dreidi wondered how out of shape she might look and feel during the mission. While she had not put on loads of weight and was still fairly active, being a single mother was not a role that allowed for much peace, Dreidi knew that she had not been training as hard as she usually did when working on missions. She hoped that her appearance would not look too dishevelled as well as hoping that Dreidi was able to keep up with Aiden as much as she would have before the pregnancy. The dread was finding herself to have fallen so far behind in skill once again.

That was something that Dreidi always dreaded and it had been amplified when she had to stop training while pregnant with Aileni. Only her Magick seemed to feel stronger now, the love for her son fuelling a fire inside her that burned hotter and deeper than any emotions she used before. Dreidi felt as powerful as some of the clan mothers now and started to begin to understand why they mentioned that her power might increase after Aileni was born.

Arriving at the meeting spot, Dreidi was a little in her thoughts more than she usually would be. Thinking on Aileni and continuing to hear the words of the clan mother she had previously talked to about his potential future. The future where the clan mothers referred to him as the Night Wolf. The Wolf of Dathomir. It was a dark future they predicted in her mind. A future of suffering and turmoil. But they could also be wrong. She prayed that they were wrong about his future. However, there were traits that were different in him, behaviours that leaned into this proposed future.

It all concerned Dreidi since she had only tried to save him from harm. Letting out a sigh, Dreidi wondered if she might be the worst mother in history if Aileni ends up truly cursed for her actions.

All she could do was wait and see. Just as she waited patiently for Aiden.

Too say times were difficult for the jedi Padawan would be putting it lightly. He had gone through his fare share of troubles and such over the past several weeks. And the with talking of the impending dive into the netherworld happening incredibly soon he had made it a point to stay focused. So he was more goal focused and eyes on the prize type than his usually self.

He of course would flash a smile and show those that he was alright, but inside was a constant storm and he was forever trying to find the shelter to rest for a least a few hours before he would venture off once more.

He hadn't seen Dreidi in quite some time, no doubt her duty as a mother now did complicate her time. And rightfully so, when you became a parent he was sure all sorts of things did change. Naturally he was happy to see Dreidi, it had been far too long since they last communicated or even talked. So when she mentioned about this dark creature, and the report that followed. He happily volunteered to help her in this endeavor.

He could see her from the distance and he gave her a small wave as he neared her vicinty. She looked well, and strong. He could help but smile at seeing his old friend.

"Dreidi, its good to see you. How is motherhood going for you?"

Dreidi could tell a fake smile when she saw one, it was something she often used herself when struggling with the grief of her father's death. Dealing with the aftermath of a lot of loss in her life. However, Dreidi was not going to tug on that issue, if Aiden wished to share what was going on, it had to be on his terms not when Dreidi wanted him to do so. She understood that because it was something her therapist had said years ago to her, that she only had to share when she was ready to share. Dreidi wanted to offer support best she could but Dreidi couldn't push Aiden to share.

Waving to Aiden, Dreidi made sure that her presence was a place where Aiden could feel safe and relaxed. "Hey Aiden, it has been way too long. Motherhood is going well, it has its moments but every day Aileni seems to be growing rapidly." Dreidi dreaded the thought of how short she will appear next to her son when he finishes growing. Maybe two Dreidi could match his height. The thought made her chuckle mentally.

"Thanks for coming to help me. It shouldn't be anything crazy but I haven't been training myself as much so more out of practice than I would like to admit." Dreidi mentioned as she gave a warm smile to Aiden. "We should head out," Dreidi stated and started walking towards the last known location of the sightings from the monsters.

Looking over to Aiden, "what have you been up to?"

"Hey Aiden, it has been way too long. Motherhood is going well, it has its moments but every day Aileni seems to be growing rapidly."

"That's good to hear. That boy is going to be beyond spoiled, I can promise you that." He chuckled lightly, pushing past his own issues and focusing on her and her son. He moved forward within reaching distance and pulled her into a small comforting hug. Perhaps he needed it much more than she did, it was just good to see a friendly face.

"Thanks for coming to help me. It shouldn't be anything crazy but I haven't been training myself as much so more out of practice than I would like to admit."
"We should head out,"
"what have you been up to?"

"You don't every have to thank me, I'll do this gladly." Aiden chuckled as he walked along beside her. "Lead the way." He smiled, and then the next question came, and while Aiden had no regard to jump right into the chaos that was his life the last few weeks. Well, these were indeed trying times and well, he made a silent promise to not keep things bottled up.

"Well, the homestead burned down roughly two weeks ago. They uh......" Aiden glanced over, as he gave her a small rough look. "Those individuals I told you about, they came for...well of us. Me, my father, and everything we had. We fought them back and left none alive, they won't ever do what they did again."

Aiden cleared his throat as he looked forward trying to find the easiest and simplest way to get these words out.

"Something happened.....Esme came back, but a shadow of her former self. Darkness, despair and evil. But it wasn't directed towards me, love and joy was directed at me. She asked me to come with her, leave all of this behind. Everything I had ever known or believed. Just to be with her....in darkness."

The Padawan looked over to Dreidi. "I have to apologize Dreidi, there was instance. A moment, maybe a few seconds where......I..." Aiden chuckled lightly as he looked forward again. It was clear the guilt and disappointment he carried. The laugh was more so the stupid decision he could've made. It was so small of a choice but could've had long lasting outcomes for various people.

"I considered going with her. And I feel so much shame that I even considered that for so brief a moment."

Dreidi chuckled at the mention of Aileni being spoiled. "You too, huh? Briana mentioned the same thing when she first met Aileni when she was helping me get a place on Naboo." Dreidi mentioned, shaking her head as she thought about the fact that her friends intended on spoiling her son plenty was a sweet gesture and she would always do the same for them in the future when they had children of their own.

"I don't have to sure, but I want to thank you. Taking time out of your day to help me. It is too kind." Dreidi mentioned with a soft smile, she was too stubborn to drop the thank yous simply because Aiden asked. She led the way as Aiden began to open up about what occurred to him recently, there was sympathy in her eyes, she had heard about the incident at his homestead and the losses there. She knew all too well the pain of losing a father. How raw it felt even years later.

Nothing soothed that pain.

Then the mention of Esme... The one who had won over Aiden's heart. The one who made Dreidi realise all that time ago when she was still fresh faced to the Galactic Alliance that Aiden was someone she saw more than just a friend. However, Esme had won Aiden over and Dreidi had to just sit and watch someone else live that happy life she had wanted but realised too late. Then she heard Esme had died... Now she had returned but a corrupted version. A version that was not the right Esme.

Dreidi stopped and turned around to look at Aiden, she moved closer and placed a hand on his face, "Aiden... you have nothing to apologise for. Anyone would have been tempted seeing the person they love returned to life and asking to run away with them. But you didn't fall into temptation, you saw through the deception and you came out stronger for that." Dreidi gave a warm smile as she caressed his cheek. "Don't ever feel like you failed me or anyone else because you considered for a moment to pursue a life of happiness. Everyone considers that."

"I'm sorry that I wasn't there to help you, to help your family with the problems. I want to be there to help you and protect you as much as I can." Her eyes glinted with the warmth of her affection for Aiden once again before she pulled her hand away and sighed, "I am glad you felt able to trust me enough to share that though."

"Aiden... you have nothing to apologise for. Anyone would have been tempted seeing the person they love returned to life and asking to run away with them. But you didn't fall into temptation, you saw through the deception and you came out stronger for that."

She caressed his check and smiled softly, her touch bringing a soothing affect to him. It would always be there, her and him. He wasn't sure why he never made a move. What it his own stubbornness, or perhaps it was someone else. Or perhaps he was just a moron.

Truth was, he felt that she deserved better than him.

She was amazing, smart, beautiful and caring to her core.

He was.....not that.

"Don't ever feel like you failed me or anyone else because you considered for a moment to pursue a life of happiness. Everyone considers that."

"I appreciate your words Dreidi, truly I do...." He said with a very soft and lighthearted smile. "I guess I just didn't think I would even consider it for a moment. Then again, I guess everyone has a moment of temptation in their lives. A point in their lives where they have to make a choice. About what they are going to keep and what they are going to let go."

"I'm sorry that I wasn't there to help you, to help your family with the problems. I want to be there to help you and protect you as much as I can."
"I am glad you felt able to trust me enough to share that though."

"Stop that." Aiden spoke as he shook his head. "You have a child now, someone that needs you. Flesh and blood, that far outweighs me or any of my problems. I do trust you, and it's good to see you."

He let out a small sigh as he looked ahead, the path before them.

"What do we have today?"

Dreidi smiled warmly as Aiden admitted that he didn't think temptation would ever cross his mind. It was a slightly naive thought, but Aiden was like that at times. In the best ways. It was something that made him endearing to Dreidi since she knew that he was a caring and empathetic person who always believed the best in others. Whereas she had a colder exterior, Aiden wore his heart on his sleeve which was something she loved about him. "Hey, if someone I loved came back and asked me to run away with them, leaving everything else behind. It would take a lot for me to say no, so be proud of yourself that you were able to do that."

Shaking her head, "I might be a mother but if I use Aileni as an excuse to stop myself from helping others then I am failing as a Jedi and a warrior. I have my powers for a reason, I still need to use them. Just need to find a balance in raising my son and my duties in helping others." Dreidi stated, she was not allowing her son to be used as a justification for her inaction, that was not fair to pin on Aileni and there was still work that she could do as long as she put her mind on it.

"I am not sure what this nether beast is meant to be like. I don't have much experience with how they are but this one seems to be dangerous." Dreidi mentioned as she walked forward, arms crossing her chest as she pondered what the dangers could be faced.

"Hey, if someone I loved came back and asked me to run away with them, leaving everything else behind. It would take a lot for me to say no, so be proud of yourself that you were able to do that."

"Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. It does make me feel a bit better that you could see what I'm seeing." Aiden took a deep breath and he smiled at her. It was hard to be the way he was with Dreidi. She was one of his best friends, and well he couldn't give her a cold shoulder just because of how he was feeling. He had to fight through it, that was the only way.

Aiden looked over to Dreidi as she spoke of her duties and such.

"I might be a mother but if I use Aileni as an excuse to stop myself from helping others then I am failing as a Jedi and a warrior. I have my powers for a reason, I still need to use them. Just need to find a balance in raising my son and my duties in helping others."

"I don't mean to sound condescending Dreidi, but I'm very proud of you." Aide gave her a small smile and a nod. Not her talking about using her son as an excuse, that was plenty. She had a son, and that was an important part of her life now. No matter what anyone said.

Of what she's had been through, and she's still here. Able to help him, his heart grew tenfold when he thought of her, and what she meant to him.

"I am not sure what this nether beast is meant to be like. I don't have much experience with how they are but this one seems to be dangerous."

"The only creatures I have dealt with are the Rakghouls several times." Terrible dark entities, spawns of the dark side of the force.

He placed a hand on her shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Once we get to location, I'll draw it out." He didn't want to say it, that was just his nature. She had a child that depended on her, if she got hurt. He wouldn't have forgiven himself.

Nodding her head to him, "of course, if anyone doesn't understand your position then they are either lying or they truly haven't experienced love and trust with another being." Dreidi stated, no one should ever think less of Aiden for being in the impossible position that he was placed in. She was just glad that he made the tough decision and did stick around. She dreaded the idea of losing her closest friend especially with everything else going on around them.

"Thanks Aiden," Dreidi snorted and rolled her eyes at him being proud of her, a tough exterior to hide how much the compliment meant to her. "I am sure whenever you settle down and have your own kids, you will be just as noble and dutiful." Dreidi poked her tongue out to him and playfully nudged him.

Hearing Rakghouls, Dreidi shuddered, the beasts were such a sad tale of cursed lives that people lived on Taris had to fear and deal with. Dreidi wasn't even sure how such things could be created or why they would be something that is created from being bitten. Mutations through bites felt odd, like a fantasy concept. But then again, they lived in a galaxy with vampires so Dreidi had to accept all things were possible with the Force. "Well, hopefully we won't be dealing with that. A pandemic like that is not something I need on my plate right now." Dreidi chuckled deeply.

She nudged Aiden again, a little firmer, "I can fight and get in close, don't leave me out of the fight because of Aileni. My love for him makes me stronger, not weaker." Dreidi stated firmly. Her use of Magick was something she was stronger with now that she had Aileni, not something she saw as weaker as she had initially feared it would be.

"I am sure whenever you settle down and have your own kids, you will be just as noble and dutiful."

"I hope so, and well...." Aiden smirked and chuckled slightly. "You know you don't have to act like that around me. I know you, the real you." The Padawan smiled as he looked over across the landscape.

"Well, hopefully we won't be dealing with that. A pandemic like that is not something I need on my plate right now."
"I can fight and get in close, don't leave me out of the fight because of Aileni. My love for him makes me stronger, not weaker."

"Forgive me, I didn't mean that. I just meant that I don't want you to get hurt. That's just who I am, Dreidi. I don't think I will ever shake that role in my life. If I could shield my friends from their own pain and troubles. I would do it in a heartbeat."

Aiden gave her a solid nod of the head and a look of confidence. "We should get going."

Dreidi nodded her head, "I know and I want to be my normal self around you, but I also want you to know that you can talk and be your normal self around me. Don't have to carry all these burdens alone, you know." Dreidi stated with a firm tone, a motherly tone that she had learned since having Aileni was something that just started coming more natural to her.

She offered a small smile, shaking her head, "no offense was taken Aiden, I wasn't upset by the gesture. I was just standing firm that you cannot always be the shield and that the best version of me fights up close. I am aggressive in my fighting styles." While she could fight from a range, where Dreidi was best was using Makashi and her Magick to overwhelm and outmanoeuvre her opponents.

"Don't forget, I am also a Jedi Aiden, it is also my job to protect and defend those who cannot keep themselves safe." She gave a small smile, understanding the stance that Aiden held but also wanting to show that he had others he could lean on for support. "We aren't alone in what we do. You have us to stand by you to fight."

Nodding her head, it was time to locate the beast and get the job done. Dreidi wandered through the forest, her eyes scanning around the area. One of the benefits of her Zorren shift, it enhanced her eyesight and she could pierce through the darkness. Her nostrils flared and sniffed the air. "Something... something dark up ahead. This could be it. Let's move a little closer."

Dreidi gestured forward as she stalked forward as she shifted her energy bow from her back into her hands. Ready to fire as soon as she stopped any trouble.

"I know, I still gotta keep trying though." The Padawan said with a small smile.
"no offense was taken Aiden, I wasn't upset by the gesture. I was just standing firm that you cannot always be the shield and that the best version of me fights up close. I am aggressive in my fighting styles."

"Oh I know, remember I've fought against you, and well I've seen you fight in the field. You have some amazing combat skills Dreidi. It's impressive and amazing to watch and witness. "

She was saying all the right things, and correct things and it made him smile.

"Don't forget, I am also a Jedi Aiden, it is also my job to protect and defend those who cannot keep themselves safe."
"We aren't alone in what we do. You have us to stand by you to fight."

"I haven't forgotten, I'm just stubborn sometimes. Like you, remember." He teased with a small smile and then he took a deep breath as he focused on the task at hand.

"Something... something dark up ahead. This could be it. Let's move a little closer."

"I'm with you." Aiden said as he moved up alongside her. Moving in perfect harmony and step beside her, they had been friends for such a long time. Their connections was strong with the force, as they stood alongside each other. And it was then he could sense the shadow in the dark. The low deep guttural grow from the distance, as the creature revealed itself and began to charge them.

"And I am still going to remind you, can't have you slipping up." Dreidi smirked over to Aiden with a grin. "Good, then you don't need to worry about me or coddle me. I can handle being in the deep end and that is where I need to be if I am going to get back into fighting action." Dreidi wasn't worried about her figure or looks, this was for her, about getting prepared enough that she could fight and protect those around her. If she allowed herself to get too rusty then there were risks that people could die due to her inability to fight like she could.

Dreidi sniffed audibly, "no one is stubborn like me. But I get your meaning." She smirked to Aiden and gave him a teasing wink.

Seeing the beast in the shadows build up momentum as it charged, Dreidi pulled the bow back and fired a couple shots. Attempting to aim for the head of the beast, wanting to end the rampage before it reached the two of them. The green arrows pierced through the darkness and struck at the haunches of the beast. Demonstrating a lack of accuracy in Dreidi's aim but she growled in determination, firing another couple shots. However, they skimmed past the charging beast.

"Karablast!" Dreidi cursed as she looked to Aiden, "seems I am rustier than I want to admit..." Dreidi gave a sheepish grin.

"no one is stubborn like me. But I get your meaning."

"That is incredibly true....no one can top you." Aiden teased back, as he stuck his tongue out at her and laughed. Yet things turned a bit more serious as the creature appeared and Dreidi Xeraic Dreidi Xeraic shot her first few shots at the beast as it continued its charging, it was getting close.

"Karablast!"
"seems I am rustier than I want to admit..."

Aiden shook his head with a smile. "You are still perfect regardless." The Jedi smiled as he moved forward and leaped over the beast and landing on the opposite side. His lightsaber in his hand yet it wasn't ignited yet as it turned back towards him and began to charge him. Giving Dreidi the opening she would need to fire more shots. If they were to hit, his blade would ignite as he would roll to the side and bring his saber across looking to wound it more severely.

Dreidi giggled when she heard Aiden teasing her back, she shook her head, "always the silly comebacks, don't you." Dreidi smirked as she looked over to Aiden, watching him move to distract and pull the attention of the beast. It was a solid tactic and necessary since Dreidi's aim was not as perfect as she would have liked it to be. But she was never the archer in the family, that had been her father and it was now her son. Dreidi was much more skilled with her Magick and sword fighting.

Firing several more shots into the side of the beast, she gave Aiden the chance to end the beast's life as it collapsed from her strikes. Dreidi pricked her ears, listening out for anything that might suggest other beasts were about but she could not hear anything. "Perfect am I? Not sure I've heard that one before." Dreidi felt a blush on her pale cheeks as she didn't know how to handle such a compliment.

Making her way over to him, "what do you think? Just the one or do you think there might be more?"

"always the silly comebacks, don't you."

"Someone has to do them, and I wouldn't say they are terribly silly. I'd say right on point to be honest." He laughed as her shots landed and he delivered the final blow and strike to the beast. It let out a gutteral sound before it breathed its last breath. The air finally exhaling from its body and it was no more. Aiden took a deep breath as is saber beam retreated into the hilt. He clipped the weapon back to his belt before he looked over to Dreidi.

Perfect am I? Not sure I've heard that one before."

"Don't be so modest....." Aiden laughed as he walked around the creature and moved next to her. He looked back at the creature for a moment as he heard her speak again.

"what do you think? Just the one or do you think there might be more?"

"Unfortunately I fear there may be more." Aiden said as he looked back to her. "We can scout out ahead a bit more and see if we can pick up anything. If not then perhaps we should call it a day."

Watching the final blow from Aiden, Dreidi moved closer, hoping that an examination of the beast would provide some insight on what they were dealing with and potentially how many that could be out there. "Perhaps, but I might enjoy them being silly, a break from everyone else being so serious." Dreidi looked over to Aiden with a grin and winked to him.

Placing a hand on the beast, Dreidi chanted a prayer for safe passage into death from her Dathomiri prayers that she had learned over the years. Her eyes studied over the beast and examined different parts of it. "I doubt we will find any now, the cries and noise of battle would have either invited them here or sent them into hiding. However, we can try searching for any markings or prints that could give us a rough estimate of how many are needed to be hunted."

It would be something to report and if the number proved to be too high, something to request further support in handling. For now, Dreidi rose from her position and looked over to Aiden with a warm smile, "which direction do you wish to head in?"

"Perhaps you do...." Aiden said with a smile, Dreidi now moved towards the beast, placing a hand over it. He took a step back as he didn't want to intrude on what she was doing. It was a chanted prayer of sorts, and it just dawned on the Jedi that he truly didn't know that much about Dreidi's side in regards to her Witch Elder side. Outside of books there wasn't too much more that he did know. Given his tack for wanting to learn more. But more about the culture and their way of life.

That would be something he would have to get with her about. He felt there was a trip in the future.

"I doubt we will find any now, the cries and noise of battle would have either invited them here or sent them into hiding. However, we can try searching for any markings or prints that could give us a rough estimate of how many are needed to be hunted."

"I believe you are correct." Aiden nodded in agreement, if there was anymore they surely would've been on them by now.

Aiden closed his eyes for a few moments, focusing on the energies of the force around them. He took a long deep breath before he opened his eyes and looked over to her with a smile.

"Let's head North...." Aiden said with a smile and he gave her a small wink. "Can you keep up?" And as soon as he said that he was off, the force aiding his speed ever so slightly. While this still was potentially dangerous territory, he figured they could have some more laughs.

If it was anything he needed, it was smiles and laughter right now. He came to a stop as he ducked behind a tree, a small smile on his face. He knew she would find him, he took her class after all.

Placing the bow back on her back once again, Dreidi watched as Aiden raced off using the Force. Dreidi smirked and shook her head. It was tempting to just teleport ahead of him and show that no matter how fast he would get that Dreidi would always be a finger snap faster. However, she didn't know how far he wanted to go and it was a good chance to flex the muscles that used the Force. Dreidi was keen on utilising that aspect a little more so that she could avoid getting rusty with it.

Imbuing her leg muscles with the Force, Dreidi darted forward. Racing ahead, feeling the wind whipping and whistling around her as the witch roamed forward. Keeping close to Aiden as she moved around the forest. "Seems you need to learn how to get faster, unless you enjoy a rusty Force User like myself out pacing you." Dreidi teased as she continued to move forward.

It was nice to relax, have some fun and learn a little more about the environment that they were in. Especially since Dreidi hadn't explored much outside of the Theed area.

She was indeed faster, and quicker than he was. But it was nice to have the fun between them. The light jokes and the simples teases. It brought a sense of relief to him and pushed some darker thoughts from his mind.

He opted to change directions for a moment but he had another idea in mind, he wondered if she would fall for it. Feigning a trip over a what was hole in the ground gave away what balance he had as he tried to slow to a stop and got knocked to the ground, the moment forcing him to roll over a few times. He finally stopped as he rolled on his stomach and laid there motionless, and he tried to get up, but then just collapsed back on the ground.

Feigning that as well.

He was sure she might punch him for this.
