OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Iron Legion Troopers
  • Affiliation:
  • Classification: Infantry (Standard Ground-Soldier)
  • Description: The Troopers of the Iron Legion are the most commonly encountered forces within that army's ranks. They are the most numerous due to their common rank, and make up the backbone of the Iron Legion's fighting power. They are dressed in full-body covering from head to toe. Over their body armor, Troopers can be recognized for having a green coat, as well as green Duroplast helmets. Their faces are covered by environmental protection masks incorporated into their helmet's design. The goal of their uniform's design is to ensure that all Troopers look as identical as possible as a way to have a menacing apperance to potential foes. Their arms and armor are all standardized accordingly, and it is very clear to tell who is a Trooper of the Iron Legion due to their unique appearance.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Large - Due to being rank-and-file soldiers of the DuPorcelen Iron Legion, they are the most numerous of its soldiers and have larger unit size accordingly.
  • Unit Availability: Common - Due to being the common rank-and-file of ground soldiers for the Iron Legion, this categorization is applied.
  • Unit Experience: Trained - Troopers of the Iron Legion are subjected to strict standards of training. Much of the training comes from the tradition of the Eternal Empire that makes up their primary heritage, however the other aspects of training are so that they are able to fight in some of the most inhospitable and grueling battlefields like the world of Lotho Minor where the Iron Legion was founded.
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: When the Iron Legion is deployed to a combat zone, the Troopers are the most common type of soldier on the ground. Strict discipline is drilled into each Trooper through training, making each Trooper exhibit a stoic and near-dour demenour when encountered. They do not speak much unless acknowledging orders, alerting fellow soldiers to happenings on the battlefield, and providing instructed phrases to any encountered civilians. Troopers are strictly trained to have the upmost discipline as a means of "earning their Eternal heritage." As a result, they follow orders to the letter, or die trying. With Troopers, their tactics are similar to that of other common ground soldiers used in other armies.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
Strengths:
  • Cool Under Fire: The training of the Iron Legion's troopers has produced soldiers who are among the least prone to exhibiting fear on the battlefield of any army in the galaxy.
  • Strength in Numbers: As being a common unit among the Iron Legion's ranks, Troopers are among the most numerous. Their tactics then reflect such.
  • Highly Disciplined: Even if a Trooper's training has him or her in a state of some level of fear, the training drilled into every Trooper of the Iron Legion has them be too disciplined to break.
  • Sealed from Environment: The uniform and armor of the Troopers grants the Troopers safety from the inhospitable environments the Iron Legion is expected to fight in.
  • Intimidating Design: The armor of the Iron Legion's Toopers makes all of them look uniform, nearly identical to each other outside of slight body proportion differences, alongside their faces being covered by the visage created by their environmental protection masks. Such an image can prove intimidating to an enemy force, civilians, and potentially allies.
Weaknesses:
  • Grim: While the training of Iron Legion troopers makes them highly disciplined and not as prone to shell-shock compared to other types of soldiers, their grim stoicism is often unsettling for any other people they may encounter from outside the Iron Legion's ranks.
    • Makes joint operations with other types of soldiers somewhat difficult as the other soldiers may have their morale lowered with the presence of the Iron Legion.
    • Civilian relations are not likely to be good when in combat zones with population centers nearby.
  • Intensive Training Drawbacks: The training the Iron Legion's Troopers go through in order to be battlefield ready take somewhat long periods of time. While it is certain numbers will be replenished from battles, the recouperation will be a slow process.
  • Equipment Drawbacks: The armor worn by the Iron Legion's Troopers is made from salvaged materials among properly forged materials, making the uniforms offer inconsistent protection from Trooper to Trooper.
    • In addition, the weapons the Troopers of the Iron Legion use are from the Eternal Empire's design which makes recouperating stock of, as well as maintaining, the weaponry of the Iron Legion a tedious affair.
  • Recognizable: Soldiers of the Iron Legion, while their uniforms are likely to intimidate others on the battlefield, are highly recognizable to an enemy which can leave the Troopers prone to targeted attacks with how well they stick out compared to other soldiers.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
In the times following the fall of the Eternal Empire, the world of Lotho Minor was left in chaos. Appointed as Baroness of the junkyard world, the Admiral Katherin DuPorcelen began a rapid-paced transformation within the Imperial garrison's domain to make an industrial hub for the Eternal Empire. After the fall, the brief spat of chaos was soon swept aside by a rise of corporate and military tyranny that brought about the birth of the DuPorcelen Iron Legion. Remants of the Imperial garrison's forces mixed with forcibly conscripted denizens of Lotho Minor were the first Troopers of the Iron Legion.

The Iron Legion has become the force of order on Lotho Minor by both preserving the peace in the city established by the Eternal Empire and protecting assets for the DuPorcelen Logistics Corporation that swiftly became the new governemnt of the junkyard planet. While new forms of soldiers for the Iron Legion have come into being, the Troopers remain the most numerous on top of being the first type of soldier utilized by the Iron Legion. In present times (as of this post), the Iron Legion's recruitment pool has expanded to worlds within the domain of the Empire of the Lost due to Katherin DuPorcelen becoming a Moff and Admiral in the rising Empire's ranks. The worlds of Desevro and Chandaar's populations have both become sources for more Iron Legion Troopers to be conscripted and trained. The Iron Legoin's Troopers have been seen both quelling resistance and dissent on worlds the Empire of the Lost would not spare the troops needed on other fronts, while also supporting the Empire's war efforts on grueling battlefronts.

I'm going to get technical here for a minute and just explain what I am thinking. I will talk this over with the Codex Admin just to be sure we are on the same page.

If the Empire of the Lost is a replacement for the Eternal Empire then it technically no longer exists and I do not think your permissions to use their equipment would be valid unless you get them directly from the original submission owner. In this case, Kainan Wolfe would need to give you permission, and Ingrid's would not be sufficient.

I would work on getting those just in case.

Thank you for the opportunity to work around with this. If there is anything I could contribute for the deliberation of codex staff, let me know. I will try to provide such as soon as possible.

What you say with the permissions is noted. Empire of the Lost is more so a successor of the NIO (The Empire), however it has an imperial melting-pot dynamic as well. I haven't spoken with Kainan's player in years at this point since the drama that happened with them on the site way back when. Is there a course of action you would suggest to approach this with?
