The Ionizer says it all, this ship's design was meant to bull rush the enemy fleet, and take out their shields quickly so that the bigger cruisers could come in behind them, and lay waste to the hulls. The idea was to make a hit, and run ship that could come in fast, do some heavy shield damage, and run away. Disable, and run , that's this ship's role.

I don't quite like the idea of this being featured on a ship with many, if any, armaments. As noted, I'd like to see it removed.
