STRENGTHS
  • Energy Absorption: The sword can absorb force energy, usually in the form of direct energy such as sith lightning, and will discharge the energy on contact.
WEAKNESSES
  • Heavy: The weight of the sword itself, plus the weight of the darkside energy imbued within, makes it crucial for the wielder to use a two-handed grip whilst fighting, making the user slower and more open to attacks.
  • Amplified Presence: At a cost of being more resistant to the light side of the force, the presence in the force of Iod is increased two-fold. Hiding is practically impossible when the sword is being carried.
  • Cannot cut through surfaces like a lightsaber.
  • Force Nullification: When nullified, the imbued force energy in the sword is dissipated. The weapon loses its features and becomes a regular sword.
DESCRIPTION
The result of an arduous journey and days of Sith Alchemy, Iod was forged an imbued with the darkside in the Sith temple at Exegol. Created with the help of the Sith scientists who call the temple their home, Derleth Par created Iod as a symbol of his dedication to the history of the Sith order, and to begin his journey into the Sith sciences. Iod is like many Sith swords, with the ability to absorb energy and resist lightsabers with its magnetic field. Unlike most Sith swords, it does not share as much of a weakness to the light side of the force, but its presence in the force is immense, at least double that of a normal force-imbued weapon. Derleth attributes this to the inherent darkside energy of Exegol amplifying his imbuement. While useful in combat against Jedi, the sword renders stealth in any form impossible to Derleth.

As with any force imbued/alchemised artifact, you just need to include the standard disclaimer around what effects force nullification (Ysalamiri for example) and force dampening (such as Void Stone) will have on this sword in the weaknesses.

Tag me when you're ready.
