Staff Invasions - A Reminder About Judgements

In the past, we didn’t really talk much about Invasions and how Staff will judge them. There’s a magic in the mystery, and that magic - eroded more than ever by this Age of Information we live in - is loved by this community. Chased, even. It’s the last dopamine high in an era of endless fact finding videos, the first wizard’s trick I ever employed on this community. Seek to demystify as one might, seek to reduce or laugh off the importance, countless attempts and literal decades have been focused on the judgements of Invasions as conducted by the SWRP Staff Team. Try as one might, the attacks of character, the attempts to sabotage, the attempts to ridicule have only emboldened a strategy employed since before even the Factory on Chaos existed.

A very simple strategy. The magic is in how simple it is. So how do Invasion Judgements work?

1. A public Admin is chosen by the Staff team, once an Invasion is announced. This Admin will usually make themselves known to the MFOs.
2. Any number of RPJs will be chosen after. Usually two. Admins can fill an RPJ position in this regard, but may only serve as if an RPJ.
3. All RPJs on this judgement team will be kept secret, by oath to Chaos, Staff, and Tefka. To violate this is to forfeit your Staff position, without exception.
4. Though the members are known to the Staff team, their deliberations will be kept secret from even the Head Admins. It is the ONLY situation in which Staff decisions may be hidden from even Tefka and Valiens.
5. The Judgment Team’s Admin has unrestricted authority. They can do anything, including bringing in more people, consulting Admins or RPJs outside of the team, consulting MFOs. They can even forfeit the RPJs judgement and construct their own. They can break ties, divulge information, etc. They are the judge and the executioner, to the RPJs jury. They can do literally anything except reveal the RPJs names to the community.

This secrecy has driven people mad, in the past, I get it. This “ceremony” has sought the ire of a great many over the years, to the point of wishing eradication or expulsion, but again its my opinion this focus has only strengthened its importance. It is a very pure tradition of Chaos, in the face of a culture that seeks to know and engulf everything.

It is a tradition that has stood the test of time, and I expect we will continue to enjoy it for decades to come.

As for the content of Judgements, please remember that the base requirement is “Who won, who lost, did they tie.”

There is no reasoning nor writeup required.

This is because the community 1000% always asks the Judgement for how to improve in public, then uses the information in attempts to discredit and invalidate RPJ judgement in private. It is admittedly a very clever way to gain sympathy from Staff for the purpose of being a shitter, and has happened - and been caught - countless times. To the point that I have become convinced it is a requirement as a human to behave this way, and therefore not a toxicity that can be banned out of the community.

I am actively advising against divulging Judgement writeups and very close to actively barring Judgement writeups for this reason. The community has a patterned behavior of doing this and cannot be trusted to not abuse the information.
