Welcome to Section C: Executive Summary​

Section C, or Cresh, (for clandestine) coordinates and directs clandestine operations with an eye toward an active posture and sentient intelligence/covert operations (as opposed to signals intelligence, informants, wiretapping, and other relatively passive-postured intelligence gathering sources). Section C is the code name for a central command apparatus, around which several branches revolve, most notably branches for developing technologies and gadgets; coordinating stealth space-and-ground operations; deception and misinformation; and others. The leadership of Section C is a closely guarded secret, even among branch leadership, and rumors circulate that “Cresh” isn’t just one person. Some say it’s a small team. Others suspect it is an artificial intelligence construct. These rumors are not officially discouraged. This allows plausible deniability, as well as for current leadership to determine who or what leads Section C, or for growth for individuals to grow into leadership.

GLOs are the backbone of Section C’s operations. They are small, precision units. Each are highly trained pilots and covert operatives, usually operating in teams of two. They are assigned highly specialized stealth starfighters (or other transportation appropriate to their mission) and are well-trained in stealth and related fields (deception, slicing, firearms, close-quarters combat, starfighter combat, infiltration and exfiltration, etc.). The organizational scheme allows for the deployment of additional pairs with relative ease: a writer who is interested could either recruit a friend or utilize an NPC.

In addition to GLOs, there is room for additional Branches and operatives assigned to them, which can either be background noise/set dressing/worldbuilding, or expand to make space for writers interested in building out the organization.

OOC touchstones:

• Operation Mincemeat for its mischievous approach to intelligence and stoic resolve in the face of overwhelming odds.

Provides space-based mission support, including research, design and procurement of new starfighter tech and falsified ship/cargo manifests.

Develops missions and assigns tasks to GLO units, and provides strategic and evolving advice to Section C leadership.

D-Branch: Deception
Coordinates misinformation, disinformation, and other target informational campaigns against external groups and factions.
