Introduce Yourself!

Hello, and welcome to the Rimward Trade League! We're so glad you stopped by and are interested in what we're doing here. It's always great to meet new people and work together as we tell incredible stories. It's a lot of fun seeing everyone's ideas and building new stuff together.

We'd love it if you posted here and told us more about you and your characters! What sort of stories do you want to tell? Do you have any ideas you want to explore? Any themes or topics you most enjoy? I'm a huge fan of member-driven stories, so if there's something you want to explore and run, I'd love to hear it!

Hey there! I’m Patton/Patt OOC,
  • Cailen: Jedi Padawan, idealistic, spunky, loves droids and salvaging
  • Jun: Jedi Padawan, reserved, blademaster, duelist
  • Mira: Jedi Knight, chaos incarnate, don’t let her take the Paddies on a field trip
  • Elias: Jedi Master, slow to anger, prefers to use the Force over his saber, wants to help those in need
  • Kel: Former GA Senator of Abregado-Rae, loyal, honorable, loves to get on the front lines despite his age
I can generally get into any story, but I particularly love longer arcs that build over time. Anything with Legends/rebel/scrapper vibes really piques my interest. Threads focused on Padawans, slice-of-life, or exploration are my favorites.

Excited to see what stories we tell together! (Patton#7652)

Shuklaar Kyrdol

CEO of Breshig War Forge Consolidated
Su'cuy, I'm Shuk or Shuklaar. TheFlyingPotato (TheFlyingPotato#4593 on Discord) or just Potato works too if that's what you'd prefer.

Perhaps just to preface things. There's a little bit of background for the Breshig Mandalorians whom I write.
They're pretty much all I write, actually xD Their story starts as Neo-Crusaders who colonized the Breshig system, and picks up in the Chaos timeline with the SuperCommando codex adherent natives of Breshig preparing to go to war with their neighbors in the Mandalore system.

This did result in a great distrust of force users, given at the time the Sith Empire backed the regime on Mandalore. Realizing that was a fight they may not have won, they made plans to evacuate if it came to that. It did. Strill Securities, the company that employed a large number of the system's population along with clan naval assets bought time for a partial evacuation.

The combined migrant Breshig fleet jumped from system to system till they made the decision to head into CIS space in the hope that in the very least they'd find work after consulting with their clients in Kamino, who at the time were part of the CIS. They ended up working for the CIS, with the Mandalorians of Breshig learning to trust their fellow Mandalorians till the Enclave formed and immediately tried to force them out of their contract with the CIS.

Frustrated with the warped version of the SuperCommando codex and Resol'nare that the Enclave followed, Shuklaar and other company leadership kept their feelings on the matter private for the sake of cooperation.

It was during these latter years that Shuklaar made a deal with Arctus Silmar of The Sith Empire, the services of Strill Securities in exchange for his people and stolen materiel returned. With no choice left, Shuklaar made his deal with the devil. Following this Shuklaar and the company became more involved with attempting to aid planets suffering from oppressive governments.

The Enclave left the CIS and shortly after the CIS itself was beset by horrors from within which resulted in the company aiding in the evacuation of Naboo, knowing what it felt like to lose one's home planet. With the loss of the CIS contract due to it's dissolvement, Breshig and Strill under Shuklaar's leadership has been attempting to stabilize things by taking contracts with governments in the mid and outer rim for equipment and/or mercenary contracts to help stabilize the region.

That's about where things pick up...
  • Shuklaar Kyrdol: Shuk is the CEO of Breshig War Forge and design engineer by training and trade. He's haunted by decisions he made during the evacuation of Breshig, and is trying desperately to do right by his people. Shuk's loyal to them to his last breath. Potentially Tihaar addicted, potentially. Connoisseur of well-built technology and good alcohol.
  • Saram Kote: Saram is the deadshot leader of Davaab squad, one of Strill Securities' most elite Vuhyr'yalilyr (Night Stalker when translated from the Breshig dialect of Mando'a) commando units. Though lacking a thorough understanding of non-Mandalorian culture, Saram's quick to try new things and new experiences, but tends to be quick to judge and very opinionated.
  • Ruus Kote: Gruff, occasionally grumpy Strill Securities Colonel who prefers to let his guns do the talking, though always has a sarcastic line or two to follow or precede his opening barrage. Makes fast friends with anyone who he sees as being agreeable and who can handle his generally gruff demeanor. Not seen far from his battalion commanders or his command tank crew.
  • Aenarr Kyrr: Pilot cross trained commando who probably should have been a fighter jock from the start. Sharp, skilled and not afraid to voice his opinion, Aenarr is what many think of when they picture a Mandalorian fighter ace.
As for plots, well, Strill Securities is a PMC, they're mercs, so I'd like to be doing merc things with them. Show up, shoot people, generally look good doing it xD Providing training or weapons/ships/equipment/vehicle is also something that'd be in the wheelhouse of Strill or it's parent company.

Generally developing the Rim and making it a better place to live would also be nice to do. Whether that's helping survey little known regions, setting up infrastructure or as mentioned earlier, training militias and the like.

I'm also happy to do stories that are more about day to day life, or logistics of running things, or just hanging around and fooling around. Talking shop also seems like a fair bit of fun. That sort of thing.

Ideally I haven't been vague or confusing. Always reachable on discord and usually on site PMs. I look forward to seeing what stories I can add to the saga of Breshig's Mandos.

Thanks, Cailen Corso Cailen Corso and Shuklaar Kyrdol Shuklaar Kyrdol for getting us started! Those are some great-looking characters and I can already see some solid areas of interest that overlap! So that's awesome!

For those who don't know- it's me, I'm the problem. Call me Aeshi, Veino, Tiland, or Roth, and I should be able to answer to any of them. Aeshi is probably my most well-known character at this point, or at least most frequently used.

So, I started the League a few years back as a form of sandbox to tie all my character stories together and build from... a decade-ish worth of being on Chaos. Initially, it was just meant to be chill and explore some aspects of Star Wars that I always wished got paid more attention to- what was life like on the Outer Rim outside of Tatooine? What would would the logistics and daily life necessary to maintain an interstellar society really look like? If there was a process similar to our own kind of development, how would it work across the Outer Rim and near the Kathol Rift (Which sometimes has weeks-long hyperspace transit times between neighboring worlds)?

Some of my favorite sci-fi is low-stakes and focuses on the nitty-gritty, like C.J. Cherryh's Merchanter's Luck, Elizabeth Moon's Vatta's War series, and Andre Norton's Solar Queen stories. The recent Edge of the Empire ttrpg was a big shaper of the stories I love in Star Wars. Plus, I've always been a geek for nautical adventure stories and maritime history, so stuff like the Hanseatic League, the Aubrey/Maturin series and Hornblower series were a big influence on the League.

Those are a lot of the themes I really enjoy writing on Chaos (Hence the League I suppose :p ). I'm a big fan of low-stakes, personally driven stories focusing on the nitty-gritty of everyday life, but also Jedi mysticism and Jensaarai internal conflict. But overall, I'm a huge believer in empowering writers and encouraging y'all to create the stories you want to tell.

Hey all, new here. Forgive my naiveté and any guidance is welcome.

My character is Vad Logan. Military and law enforcement veteran turned ship captain and leader to a small company of rangers. I really like the idea of the league, bringing order to the frontiers of space. Wild west style.

I'm interested in any stories involving sci-fi paramilitary themes. Rescue missions, chasing pirates, protecting trade routes, fighting warlords, investigating crimes, recon expeditions, hunting for alien/jedi/sith artifacts, dealing with plagues/contagions, faction-on-faction skirmishes, etc. Large-scale engagements whether in space or on the surface sound like a lot of fun to participate in.

Here to learn more about the league and the state of this galactic timeline as a whole. And help out in anyway I can.

Why, hello!

I'm Vee, been around a long time but not quite as active as I used to be. I have a lot of characters, but my current RTL ones are:

Jessa Haran: a new character! Jedi master that travels the galaxy. Pretty chill, loves food, likes to experience new things. A bit eccentric and silly, but she's all about spreading that light.

Shaye Ares: Coren Starchaser's neice. She's a smuggler and a scoundrel -- has those Starchaser genes when it comes to flying. She's a grump, but not nearly as hard as she comes across.

I'm fond of low-key threads and slice of life. However, I'm open to other types of stories as well! I will say that I'm a bit slow these days, so private threads may go for periods of time without responses. But I will certainly try to keep up!

Hiya, brand new to the faction!

Karissa - She is a career intelligence/espionage operative, first for the First Order and then the New Imperial Order. With the failure of both to ensure the order they promised, she became disenchanted with that sort of regime and is looking for something more 'meaningful.' She is young but has the attitude of a grumpy old man!

I'm interested in the spy/espionage type stories, but also stories that help her develop through her struggles with putting her past behind her and embracing something more 'good.'

Ki- Jem-Taan - A former Seyugi Dervish thawed from a 900 year carbonite freeze turned Jedi. Pretty straight forward, right? Wants to use her skills to serve as a Jedi Specter.

Howdy!

My character is A'Runda, an exiled Tusken from tatooine who in more recent years has become a wondering warrior/ronin type character who I've neglected for well over a year now. My recent main I've written is Cyran Vaas Cyran Vaas . Been thinking about dusting off the old tusken and having them join the RJC or Rimward Ranger Crops.

Nonetheless I'm rather interested in more rustic/western style adventures and fighting the good fight to the best of his abilities. Fighting bad guys on the fringes of society since he never quite fit in with the modern galaxy. Also A'Runda has a trusty Dewback steed that he looks after, so you could say he'd good with animals too :D

Hey! Welcome! Glad to have you! A'runda looks super cool, and definitely feeling that rustic/western vibe. That should be a ton of fun, especially with a good dewback!

Hey,

I'm Joel, pretty much new to Chaos. I spent a couple months writing in 2015-2016 but didn't get involved too much. I have prior roleplay experience on Habbo as well. IYKYK.

Joland: A young adult who stumbled into being a Jedi and is trying to figure out what that means. Existential vibes only. Will probably be a Blademaster-esque type but we shall see.

I plan to mostly write him until I'm more familiar with the board and shake off writing cobwebbs.

I'm interested in long story arcs and character development. I would like Joland to be a padawan for a long time and see where that goes. Open to small scale, large scale, and anything inbetween.

At the moment I'm mostly inspired by The Expanse; love the show and I'm currently reading the books. I enjoy the grittiness, the attention to detail of realistic physics, the characters, but also the mystery behind a lot of the stuff that happens.

Lastly, excited about the Rimward Trade League. Reminds me of the Leicester Alliance from FE:3H. Also, who doesn't love democratic market socialism?

Hello and welcome! Great to have you back on Chaos and I hope you enjoy your time writing with us. Always love to see a focus on character growth and development, it absolutely adds richness to the whole story. And the Expanse does sound like a great thematic comparison! I read the first book, but never beyond that, so I never tried the series. But those elements are absolutely some of what I want to emulate here.
