Kothliss - The Bouncy Bantha

Weren't many shadowports left in the galaxy, not when every Government was so big and...well all over the place. It seemed like every time Amos hit port there was something on the news about someone exploding or an invasion happening. It was all sorts of chaotic nonsense that by and large seemed to all the be same as it had been some hundred years ago. It all really came down to how it affected him.

Which was to say; badly.

Turned out, Governments didn't like ports that allowed people to avoid paying taxes and all that shit. Kothliss was perfect for that. A little hidey nowhere. Fuel, fixers, fences, and plenty of fu- whatever else you needed. Amos liked the place, it was one of the first places he'd visited when first leaving Tatooine. The Bouncy Bantha had been his place on the planet ever since. Hanging onto a cliffside with it's own landing platform the bar was run down, but comfortable.

Built into the mountain behind it lay a small, though not quite as run down, hotel. Amos liked staying here. The platform was large enough for about a dozen ships of light freighter size, the food wasn't half bad, and the beds were roach free. Honestly, a smuggler couldn't really ask for more usually. It helped that the Bouncy also had some of the friendliest staff around. "Amos, honey, you know I love ya but can you at least pay your tab now and again?"

"Sorry Ophi." He winced slightly, offering the Twi'lek a genuine smile. He rather liked matron of the Bouncy Bantha. Not only was she kind, but Amos found her forgiving too. Except for that time he'd broken her daughters heart, but honestly that'd only been half his fault. "I have a guy coming to help me out with a job. I'll pay you first thing when its done, alright?"

For a second the Matron seemed to consider, and then she shook her head. "Alright, doll, but you hurry up. Go sit in booth twelve. I'll send em over."

Amos offered her a thankful smile, and then thought about maybe dipping into his emergency funds just to make sure she got some coin her way. It wouldn't hurt to buy him some love, and Ophidia was genuinely good people, though knowing her she might reject the money anyway. "Just get the job done, Amos. It pays plenty."

It'd be just a quick run anyway, he only needed one other person, mostly to watch the scopes.

There were many advantages to coming to being a Bokken Jedi, one major one was being able to drink and be merry! Something that Sindar was always willing to do when he had time. Still, decorum was a big part of making an impression, couldn't hobble over drunk to a meeting...
After downing a glass of something strong and green, Sindar stepped his way over to the barkeep, a cowl covering his head.

The man of mystery routine helped a bit in places like this. Very few wanted to tussle with a man his stature, and especially when he made it clear he wasn't there to make friends. Sindar dropped a few credits on the counter, before a waitress was waived over. Shame he was here on business...

"Booth twelve, take him there. Make sure he doesn't start anything..." That would be easy enough, Jedi didn't always have to be knights in shining armor. No one to save in a cesspool like this place. The galaxy needed places like this, places for the scum to pool. In fact, places like the Bouncy Bantha were especially useful for those who wished to cause trouble. Pirates, Spies, and most importantly Rebellions could make use of these dens.

Those who Sindar worked with were keen to find people like Amos, men who knew how to get things done. It was getting harder and harder to move freely, even in the reaches of space, hence the need for smugglers. They could get you anything you needed, and there wasn't a price you could put on that sort of thing. Which was good; because creds were one of the few things that they had plenty of.

They were backed rather openly by Si Tech and it's subsidiaries, though not many knew just how deep those roots went. Sindar knew, and he was confident in spending a little of Jonyna's wealth getting the best smugglers in The Galaxy to come to call. They would need those kind of people if they were going to build a better future.

Sindar was soon guided to the booth, where he was sat right across the table from Amos. He lowered his cowl, his Cathar features rough and rugged as ever. Pretty he may not have been, but that didn't bother him any, the credits would be charming enough.

"Good to meet you in the flesh, surprised you showed to be quite honest. Wouldn't be the first time I got snubbed by a smuggler when they found out who they were really working for."

It was true, the rebellion was young, but it made itself known striking at the fringes of space to bite back at the big dogs of space. Most news covered them fighting against Imperials, but even Mandos and Pirates weren't safe. Such a rogue variable could be bad for business, it made a lot enemies. It also made a lot of money, if you survived...

"I'll cut to the chase, I need to make a 'delivery' deep into Black Sun space. Xolu, a nowhere planet that deals in slaves for the whole of the Black Sun's operation. Hutts and Pirates have the planet in a vice, I think someone should change that," Sindar explained, looking with a smirk to the smuggler. He knew his plan was risky, but if it worked, it'd be worth it.
