CELESTIA STATION

Sitting behind his desk on Celestia Station, he was in the middle of multitasking. A massive galaxy map was projected above the desk, slowly spinning as it lit up with current and future work sites, along with others to be identified in the short and near term. Work sites were spread along the border of the Sith and High Republic, their most active and credit making region at the moment.

Head was down as he send a message to Iandre Athlea Iandre Athlea on his datapad.

I'll be on Belasco for business in roughly ten days. Dinner?
With the personal sorted, he focused the map on that hot zone of salvage activity, narrowing down to just that sector of space. Beginning to pull reports on their profits and losses, challenges in the region, and what battles had just concluded, he was interrupted by his personal assistant.

"Sir, your son is here to see you."

"Which one?"

"The younger one Sir, Balun."

"Did he bring my grandson?"

"I did not see Kellan, Sir." The Chiss paused. "He's wearing Jedi robes."

"Yeah, he's been doing that. Doesn't mean he's on official business, I just don't think the kid has the ability to dress."
Judah chuckled a little. "Send him in."

Balun Dashiell had waited patiently while his father's personal assistant and secretary confirmed with Judah as to the arrival of the Jedi Knight, the youngest of the men in the family sighing under his breath at the need to defer to his father's consent. One would have thought by now that the Chiss had come to know and recognise the Jedi, foregoing the requirement of formalities, yet he supposed that in following procedure, Judah had himself a half-decent employee. Besides, there was no rush; he had arrived on Celestia Station to break bread with the old man, to catch up in a casual manner, and to annoy him if history was something to go by.

His father had never been overly confident of the lifestyle to which his youngest dedicated himself. Balun, the family's sole force user prior to the emergence of his son, was something of a black sheep, as it were. Not in any sense of being disliked or treated unfairly, but rather providing a challenge in Judah's understanding of his Son's ways. That said, Balun wasn't the only force user Judah had known, but he had come to quietly wonder if it was less about him and more about the fact that Judah was reminded of his mother every time the word Jedi was mentioned. He had more assumptions than he did facts, but it was easier to avoid such conversations for fear of starting an argument with the old man.

"He will see you now"

"Thank you", Balun offered a polite smile and stepped on by, heading for Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell 's office. It was thanks to Judah that Balun himself had opted into the corporate sector, yet Dashiell Retrofit paled in comparison with the larger Dashiell Incorporated and his father's subsidiaries. Judah had often advised his son when Balun had required it on anything relating to his business, retrofitting technologies, or checking out other rivals and would-be partnerships. Celestia Station was the heart of his father's legacy, the base of operations where the old man had been living for some time.

"Hey, Old Man", Balun smirked as he entered, greeting his father in typical cheeky fashion; "How're you doing?". Judah wasn't exactly on Makai's level of banter, something Balun loved about his relationship with his brother, yet he could still appreciate a bit of light teasing. It was always good to get back to roots and visit the family, shed the formalities of service, and simply spend some downtime with his folks.

Looking at the floating map for a moment longer, Judah turned it off when Balun entered the room. A large map suspended above the desk would be a massive issue when trying to have a conversation, unless it centered around the business in question. Standing up with a small grunt, the elder Dashiell moved around around the desk to greet Balun with a hug.

"Just fine. How have you been?"

With a pat on the man's shoulder, Judah ambled over to his bar cart, searching for the whisky he wanted to use for this impromptu visit. Finding what he needed, the salvager pulled out two low ball glasses, moving to pour a healthy amount of the both of them.

"You're visiting me unprompted." A small pause. "This tells me you're in trouble. Didn't get some girl pregnant did you?"

"That joke never gets old for you, does it, Pops?" Balun replied, chuckling softly under his breath. In his father's defence, Balun had done so once, yet he had no intention of making that mistake a second time. At least, not unless it were a planned decision. Unfortunately, there were no willing potential romantic partners in his life, none he was interested in who were equally interested in him. At one point, he had held out hope for Cerys, but following her apprenticeship under him, Balun had to put his duty ahead of his personal feelings. "I'm not looking for a relationship at the moment, so you don't need to worry", he informed his father, hoping to reassure Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell .

Following Judah as his father left his desk and moved towards the Alcohol cabinet, where he began to collect their glasses, Balun placed the desk to his back, leaning against it as he explained: "I'm happy to reassure you that this is simply an off-the-cuff visit for the sake of catching up with my old man. No emergencies. No pregnancies or extreme circumstances of any sort, Dad. Just wanted to see you and see how things were going," he offered a fond smile to his senior, giving a slight incline of his gaze as if to look for a hint of doubt or suspicion from his father in response. There was no animosity behind the look, but more a look of amusement and teasing from his son. A bit of fun to be had.

"Work's been keeping me fairly busy, and Kellan's spending time with Makai and Myra at the moment. I'm organising for him to stay with them and learn to cultivate the land on Lyrox IX through the Order's Service Corps. It's a means of keeping him away from future conflicts, helping him learn to value life and his abilities, and allowing him to stay with family. Naturally, I'll be spending a lot of time going back and forth, too, so it gives me more opportunities to bother Mak as well," Balun snickered at the final comment, adding a bit of humour to the overall story he had just dropped on his old man. Chances were, Judah wouldn't approve of Balun leaving his son in the hands of Myra and Makai, but then he would probably much prefer that to the Jedi Order, so hopefully he'd see the brighter side of the two.

"You don't have to be in a relationship to get pregnant. Thought you would have learned that lesson by now. I just like to keep abreast if I have any grandchildren running about beyond the two."

Settling down back into his plush leather office chair, he took a sip of the whisky and shrugged. Carefully he leaned back just a hair, observing Balun quietly for several moments as his son spoke. Given Makai living on Orron III and his project on Lythos IX, the younger of the two would be finding himself in the Corporate Sector more than often.

"More opportunities to bother both of us. That's a good thing."

Another sip of his whisky. Judah still found the visit odd, even after the explanation.

"How goes whatever it is you do for the Jedi?"

"Yeah, work with the Order has kept me busy. I received a surprise promotion to Jedi Knight. Unfortunately, I didn't have any notice, and there was no formal ceremony, but aside from not having family there, it couldn't have gone any better. It was small-time, not a lot of people, so no shame about being put front and centre before the Council," He explained, informing his old man that he had reached the rank of Jedi Knight. Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell might not necessarily understand the gravity of the achievement for someone in the Order, but for Balun as an individual, his father would certainly be happy for his son.

"Sadly, there have been a few skirmishes between the Sith Order and us. The Sith launched an attack against a Jedi Temple on New Cov, and after a serious pirate raid on Thyferra, one of the surviving perpetrators interrogated by the Republic have suggested there's a link to a Sith Lord in that attack as well" Balun revealed information to his father that he hadn't yet shared with anyone, that which he had obviously been informed of through the Order, yet was meant to stay within the Temple walls. "Tensions have been simmering for a while now, but it feels like there's been significant movement recently. I'm concerned that another major conflict is going to erupt between the High Republic and the Sith Order and the Sith Covenant." There also seemed to be some connection between the Mandalorians and the Sith, yet Balun also knew the Mandalorians had an ambassador within the High Republic, and he hoped that, should a conflict occur, they would abstain from the fighting.

"There's only been three engagements that I've been a part of since Moorja where I was in that bacta tank", Balun added, wanting to assure his father that he wasn't constantly out there fighting everyone; "I've been teaching students, leading classes, and I have a Padawan of my own now too".

"You got promoted and they didn't even allow family to be there? Not even your mother?"

Judah, as disappointed as he was, could vaguely understand not being allowed to witness the celebration. Yet given Balun's mother was a Jedi, he would have expected her to be allowed in to observe.

Maybe he shouldn't be terribly surprised, given how Jedi grew up without a nuclear family unit.

It took him a moment but he soon remembered his manners.

"Congratulations. Sounds like a momentous occasion."

A surprise to hear of New Cov, which made him pause to write a note on a pad to reach out to the parents of Liin Terallo Liin Terallo . It sounded as if the planet was alright, just a small battle, but it did not mean all was well with the family.

Least he could do was call.

"Well, sounds as if you've been busy. Good thing Kellan has been hanging out with your brother then. I'm sure he appreciates being able to have a friend in Phoebe."

With the battles, he also made a note on the pad to keep an eye on those areas. With the Republic poking the bear so to speak, salvage had been plentiful.

"A teacher as well? And you have your own personal student? You should bring your student over one day. For dinner."

"I'm of two minds as far as Cerys Dyn Cerys Dyn joining us for a family event goes..." Balun pursed his lips into a thin smile, pausing to take a sip of the fine whiskey his father had offered as he thought of the many possibilities in which such a dinner could go terribly wrong for him; "She struggles with social gatherings and personal connections, having been taught to keep everyone at arm's length. She hasn't had a relationship with family such as ours to keep her grounded as an individual," Balun elaborated, still leaning against Judah's desk. "Then again, she could use some evidence of a positive family experience, to see what good comes of a group of people who care for each other and support one another".

"Kris isn't a member of the Jedi Order either; she's spent the better part of her life as a rogue force user hunting others" Balun reminded his father, though it didn't escape him how ironic that sounded given his mother's life echoed Balun's own life as a teenager before joining the Order of the High Republic and finding his place with the Jedi; "She's not aware of it, and we haven't spoken often since my recovery on Moorja. I've been too busy and she has her own issues to work through" he voiced, perhaps speaking a little too harshly of his mother yet she wasn't his responsibility and given their relationship or lack thereof, Balun didn't feel any sense of disappointment or urgent need for change in that regard. He had all he needed in the Dashiells'.

"And yeah, Kell's been doing quite well. He's been happy, and I visited them only recently. He sends me video comms often and loves being with Phoebe so much. It's been good for him, though difficult for me, I'll admit. I'm used to having him around all the time, taking him with me to and from Naboo, always there to chat and play and remind me of the simple pleasures in life," Balun chuckled, feeling his chest warm at the thought of his Son. Kellan Dashiell Kellan Dashiell had a bright, long future ahead of him, and between Balun and Makai, they would both ensure that the boy would get the best mix of both of their worlds, so to speak. Given the current political climate, it had turned out to be one of the better decisions Balun had made, regardless of the personal sacrifice it required to commit to it for his Son's sake.

With a frown, Judah shook his head. There were times where he wondered what his sons thought process actually was.

"Balun" There was some caution to his voice. "If this girl is going to be uncomfortable then it may not be wise to put her through the paces of a family dinner. She's an adult? I think she can imagine family life. It may make her end up resenting you as an educator."

Not knowing how these apprenticeships worked, Judah was unsure if Balun's student was essentially stuck with him. What if there was an incompatibility? Was one merely stuck with a horrible instructor if things went sideways? Something told him yes, he doubted there was a human resources department.

Ignoring the comment about his mother - Balun didn't seem concerned he wasn't allowed at this ceremony either - the old salvager realized it wasn't worth the argument. He was an adult and deciding where to go with his mother was on him, although Judah wondered if it would come at the expense of Kellan.

"She is welcome, of course, considering this student of yours may be around for years."

If this poor girl lasted that long.

"Yes, Kellan seems to be doing well. I haven't been to visit but I have talked to Kellan and your brother. Things seem to be going well."

"Well, it doesn't have to happen, but you were kind enough to invite her", Balun replied, giving a simple shrug of both shoulders. He didn't argue; his father wasn't wrong in his cautioning him: "Never mind, though. It would likely backfire on me. I appreciate the thought, Dad", he added, his gratitude genuine as he conceded his father's point.

Honestly, it would be nice for Cerys to meet his family. It'd give her greater insight into what made Balun tick as an individual, not as Master and Apprentice. It still proved a challenge finding a delicate balance between thinking of her as his Apprentice, yet also as someone whom he cared for and truthfully saw her on the same level footing as himself.

"Cerys and I are a complicated story. She's the girl I mentioned to you quite a way back; she's my age, and we were paired together by the decision of the Jedi Council. In many ways, it's like having a Padawan who is already as experienced as I am, but hers are psychological and deep emotional wounds that she has yet to work through," he explained, offering a bit more insight for his father's understanding. Balun, like all aspects of his life, liked to keep his father in the loop. His Knighting, however, had been out of his hands and something he couldn't control.

In their time, partnered together as they were, Balun still hadn't worked out the best approach for Cerys. When it came down to something as simple as interacting with her, engaging in training exercises or simple conversation, Balun had to mentally stop and question what was appropriate. While he naturally deferred to training and instruction, Cerys didn't particularly respond well to much of what Balun had to say.

"There are a lot of layers to it that make it messy, and I questioned the Grandmaster about it, but it is what it is. I'm trying not to screw it up. Any chance of a relationship went out the window the moment I became her Master, but I care for her still, and as long as I can manage it, I'm trying to look out for her," he further elaborated, once again giving a shrug as he didn't know what more to say. It might not have been of any interest to his father, but Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell had always been someone to whom Balun could express himself openly.

"She can still come over, I'd like to meet her. Just don't turn it into a lesson."

Judah didn't see the point, but then again he wasn't a Jedi. The invitation to dinner was, on his end, an extension to say hello since this person would presumably be around Balun for the next few years.

"Deep emotional wounds to work through." Judah took a sip of whisky, eyebrow raising. "Odd they paired her with you then. Considering you have your own to work through. Hm, maybe that is what your...what did you call it....Grandmaster? Is intending. Mutual getting of shit together."

Not an unwise move. Judah had seen it used in business. Normally one would use a more experienced and level headed worker to right the other, this seemed more of a both learning a hard lesson together. Time would tell if it would work.

"Why can't you have a relationship with her? She is of age. I know the Jedi do not look down upon physical intimacy because half of your lot have at least seven children. Seems you are just talking yourself out of anything because you're too scared to take a chance."

The old salvager scoffed.

"I had to intervene for your brother and now it looks I'll have to do the same for you. Somewhere - genetically - I went wrong, producing sons who need to be thrown at their inamoratas."

Picking up his whisky, Judah looked out the viewport, downing the drink, clearly in some type of rudimentary planning.

"Dashiell curse, I think."

"For a start, she has to want a relationship" Balun chuckled under his breath, offering a small shrug; "Secondly, it would over-complicate an already messy Apprenticeship. Things may change once she is knighted, depending on whether she is interested; it's difficult to tell with her, honestly. I thought I had made some ground before we were paired together, but judging from her behaviour, I was wrong". Would he allow himself, it would have been easy for Balun's emotions to distract him from what was important, his duty of care for Cerys both as a friend and a mentor. Part of him wondered if Cerys Dyn Cerys Dyn even considered them friends, though he wouldn't dare ask for fear of being proven right in his concern. "Sorry to say, Pop, I don't think intervention on your part would change anything for the better this time". Balun wasn't certain if there was such a thing as a Dashiell Curse or if it wasn't just his dumb luck, or lack thereof.

"It might surprise you, but I'm otherwise doing quite well. I've been putting a lot of focus on self-improvement and reflecting upon personal struggles that I've had over the years. I feel like I'm more confident and stable in myself than I've been for a long time," Balun expressed confidently to his father, not speaking out of arrogance but out of certainty in his personal development. He would continue to grow, to mature, of course. There would always be areas that required work on himself, but he felt he had come a long way over the past year. No one was perfect, but he had finally come to accept himself despite his habit of self-deprecating jokes he often made. "There's always going to be work to be done, but I feel like I've really come into myself, if that makes sense".

Balun set his cup of whiskey down atop Judah's desk, finding a coaster to set his glass upon so as not to mark the fine polished wood before searching his robes for his packet of cigarra's. He gestured with the pack of smokes to his father, offering Judah one first before taking one out for himself and then lighting it up. "Speaking of women, I ran into an acquaintance of yours on Naboo apparently", he said whilst the tip of his smoke flared in glowing embers of tobacco; "The name Iandre Athlea Iandre Athlea ring any bells?" he glanced back to his father, the corner of his mouth curling in a half smile whilst still holding the Cigarra between his lips, his hands pocketing his lighter; "Mentioned you'd both done some humanitarian relief work together. Sort of struck a proud moment hearing about your work there".

Letting the subject of his son's love life drift in his mind for a moment, Judah wasn't going to address the roadblocks Balun had mentioned. Heard it before. Had seen the situation play out. Balun, however, was more difficult. Didn't help he was older and more set in his ways than Makai at the similar point.

"Working on yourself?Excellent to hear. A journey well worth taking, I'm glad you've matured enough to realize self-improvement is important. We are always growing as individuals and its heartening to hear you've embraced change."

It would potentially keep Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell from going down the same path he did. Older and now relatively isolated from friends and family. It was difficult to come back after his outburst and he was certain it earned him a black mark in the eyes of others. Not that there was a damn thing he could do about it now.

Waving the cigarra way, he finished the whisky and set the lowball glass aside, having had his fill. It was still the middle of a workday.

"Oh yeah, we did some humanitarian work on Ithor a bit of a ways back. I didn't do anything crazy, just delivering crates of supplies and directing where they should go. Miss Athlea was there to assist with the medical portion."

Judah chuckled, shaking his head.

"I'm glad you're proud of something I do regularly. I don't hang out on the front lines for recognition."

"It's got to happen sooner or later, right. I'd rather not be one of those people who never grow up and mature," Balun gave a wiry smirk, a shrug of his left shoulder and proceeded to take another sip of his whiskey. The deep copper liquid brought a warmth to his chest as he exhaled through the mild burn, quite accustomed to the taste of alcohol nowadays. While many Jedi may have balked at the notion of drinking alcohol, Balun wasn't so worried, provided that it didn't hinder his professional life or his relationship with Kellan.

"Truth be told, it was nice to hear Iandre talk about you doing more than simply being a financial backer, but getting down on the front lines and putting in the work yourself. I told her that was the sort of person you are, not one to sit back and let others do all of the work. S'pose it runs in the family," he chuckled softly. Like it or not, Balun may well have inherited the need to get his hands dirty from his father. Though his mother wasn't exactly without the taste of action in her life either.

"Aside from humanitarian work on Ithor, what else has been going on?" He asked curiously, interested to hear what his father had been up to. The last time they had spoken, if memory served correctly, Balun had been prying into his personal well-being. Out of concern for his old man, of course. But prying all the same. "You've been taking care of yourself, I hope".

"Got to keep the skills sharp. I'm a big believer of that. Never know when one will be called into action."

Judah was a big believer in that - being ready when the opportunity presented itself. Life would be boring if he was regulated to an office constantly. Staying on the hyperlanes. Scouting out locations. Being on the move to see what was next on his horizon was essential. It also kept him sharp. Up to date as an owner too, easier to sniff out what was fact or fiction.

"Yes, suppose it does run in the family."

As for what he had been up to, Judah didn't know how to tell his son life was incredibly boring. Not boring, predictable. Much was structured, the businesses had to run, he had a full schedule. Nothing a young person would find essential.

"Nothing much. Same old, although I do need to find a place to live in the Corporate Sector. Thinking Ban-Satir II. An argriworld but its on the Tingel Route and since I'm focusing so much of my efforts here. Plus with Kellan living quietly out this way it is critical I be close to the family but enough space to let everyone breathe."

Mainly Danger. He had little desire to be her literal neighbor but needed to be close enough for his grandchildren.

"I had considered a city penthouse but not practical full time with young children that need space. Plus, I want to be left alone and a city doesn't alllow for that."

"You're never a bother to us, Dad", Balun remarked with a feigned roll of his eyes, an accompanying smile as though to give evidence to the fact he felt his father was being self-deprecating; Perhaps another thing that ran in the family, inherited from his father. "You can visit Kellan or me any time, regardless of what we have going on", he elaborated, wanting to make it clear that he meant what he said. Though their lives differed markedly in their chosen professions, there was more to their relationship than sarcastic jokes and business discussions.

He took another sip from his glass of whiskey, swallowed and then proceeded to take a drag from his cigarra while the mild burn was still present in the back of his throat, the smoke going down into his lungs with greater ease, almost cooling to the dull sting of the liquid fire. Exhaling the excess through his nostrils, his eyes taking in the office in absent thought, he glanced back to his old man before long. "Ban-Satir II sounds nice? Agri-worlds usually are my cup of stim-caf. I've always found a sense of peace from the outdoors," he commented, a smile touching his lips as he thought of Jhaessa Prime and imagined Ban-Satir to be somewhat of a similar climate; "I'm sure Kellan would love to visit too, given the work he'll be doing for the Agri-corps program. Like me, he's very fond of nature too".

Recently, Balun had been taking a more active approach to life, enjoying the small gifts that life in the Galaxy could provide -- Pleasant views of Naboo's open country, peaceful moments in the Temple, talking and teaching the students -- anything that didn't require him to draw his blade upon others, really. To see the day come where his Son would be taught to cherish and harness life in its natural splendour, to give back to the lands he tread rather than follow Balun's former path fighting wars upon foreign worlds, this was what he wished for his Kellan.

"Any prospects for this hypothetical new home of yours? I'd love to see what you're weighing up if you've got any data on potential purchases?".

Lips thinned, aware Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell had zero idea of the semi-recent history between himself and Danger. With Makai moving on the same planet as Danger, Judah knew to give a berth. He got it - Danger was a widow with a preteen daughter and needed a bit more support than himself. Logistically it was also a quieter area where his grandchildren would be safe, the planet fortified with defense.

"Still wise to have a bit of space. Gives the grandchildren a change of scenery too. Get away and let them be spoiled in peace."

There was no surprise that Kellan would soon be in an agricultural program. Despite the name of the sector, there were plenty of agriworlds as well, corporate owned and ready to be used a training ground. The only other place would be the Deep Core - an unsafe place for someone like Kellan. Same concept in a much more stable area - and an area where they had influence.

"There's a corporate community along the coast. Gated, estate-style homes. Its a great place for someone like me. Lots of opportunity to meet others in the same position. I'm excited - Makai lived in a similar community when he graduated university and it didn't work out but I have high hopes for this. I'm not a twenty-three year old bachelor."

That his father was excited about his future living prospects made Balun smile. He was glad to hear that Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell was looking forward to something outside of his business endeavours. It wasn't that his father wasn't capable of it, but rather that Balun had more often than not seen his old man focused primarily on his work. "That's great, Dad, I'm happy for you", he replied between sips from his glass of whiskey, "Once you're settled in, let me know, and I can bring a nice bottle so we can drink to your new place".

"Home's not exactly what it was now that Kell's living with your lesser son", Balun remarked with a short chuckle, quietening down and concluding with a bit of a weak shrug of his shoulders, "Sorta relate to how you likely felt when me and the boy moved out", he added, a hint of question in his voice, an evident guess. Hopeful to some degree that his old man might miss him, yet not wishing it on him at the same time.

"By the way, I heard from Liin Terallo Liin Terallo yesterday. She messaged out of the blue. Seems to be doing well and keeping out of trouble" Balun pushed himself upright and away from the edge of the desk, decidedly moving to one of the chairs and taking a more comfortable seat for himself, cigarra in his right hand and glass in his left. "She's not been working, but seems to be living a quieter life out there somewhere".

"You probably feel how I did when Makai went off to university. Sure he had spent extended time away before, hell at one time he moved in with Danger...but its different when you know they aren't coming back for some time. With both of us being single fathers, one tends to focus their free time and friendship efforts on the kid. I'm sure you are also enjoying the freedom to a certain extent as well."

A double edged sword in his opinion. Sometimes enjoying the freedom was worth it but there was also a void left. Judah knew acutely well Kellan was having fun and enjoying his time, but it would only be a small comfort. While he sympathized with Balun Dashiell Balun Dashiell , Judah also appreciated the fact his grandson was safely tucked away, especially given his status as a force sensitive.

News of Miss Terallo brought him out of his musings. He had not heard from the woman since he visited her in defunct Diarchy space to check in on her. She assured him of her safety but given the government had collapsed, he wondered if that was the case.

"She called you or you went to visit with her? I hope you offered the ability for her to stay at any of our homes or businesses. I doubt she is homeless but I would be remiss to let any of our friends not have a roof over their head."

Pausing, the mulled over the situation.

"Did she say what she is doing now?"

"I heard someone call it 'Empty Nest Syndrome' or something like that, though it's usually when the kids hit their late teens and leave home for good", Balun remarked with a quietly apprehensive chuckle.

"At twenty-four, it's not exactly a position I saw myself being in, but I've more or less just distracted myself with work", he explained. As much as he didn't like living without his son in his everyday life, it did help him to relate to his father in a way he couldn't have previously.

"Then again, I didn't see myself having a kid at twenty years old either", Balun added, thinking back to the day Kellan had been left in the arms of his grandfather with little to no explanation, nor warning that the infant boy had even existed. There had only been one or two run-ins with Kellan's mother since, and though the possibility remained, Balun had found a sense of relief in the time that had passed without incident.

"As for Liin and me, she sent me a pre-recorded transmission, and we went back and forth a couple times. Nothing as involved as an actual conversation but enough to get the sense that she was doing okay," he told Judah Dashiell Judah Dashiell , soon to continue: "As far as her living situation, she avoided telling me where she was living. I did ask, but she's still in the habit of keeping her head down by the sound of it. I've offered our help on several occasions, but unless her situation is dire, she rarely entertains the idea".

Liin Terallo Liin Terallo was a very private sort, even more so since the trouble that had found her over the nature of her previous science projects. Balun had made a habit of trying to extend an invitation to Jhaessa Prime, or of reminding her that both he and Judah were there to support her if it was ever required, yet the Jedi had come to sense that Liin still kept most people at a distance. Perhaps it was for her comfort or for other people's safety; he could only really guess, but her perspective on the wider galaxy and society in general had often seemed to work against the potential for what life could look like for her.

"Liin's always been a bit withdrawn, I suppose you might say. She's not one to jump at the chance when I've tried to suggest alternatives to living in hiding, keeping herself weighed down by doubts and negativity. I still think she'd do great in a political role again, but New Cov remains a bitter memory. One that seems to put her off from reaching out to new prospects".
