That's a strong wupiupi. Now I'm glad I've been doing business in wupiupi for years. Sounds like that runaway Republic inflation really hurt the Core.

The uncertainty in the Core is definitely a factor in the strength of outliers in the currency marketplace. Exchange and interest rates are due for a check in at the end the second quarter so we might see some changes.

Given the relative stability of corporations and so-called galactic governments, what's your opinion on corporate-backed currency?

Considering the stability and longevity of certain galactic corporations, scrips are inevitable and even then a trade network among those backed currencies could be a viable one, provided that the entities involved can stem the hoarding tendency and encourage trade of the scrips. Then you're looking at not the value of the scrip but how much the holder is willing to trade for it. It's a much more volatile if lucrative investment potential if you're not necessarily interested in money but goods.

I think corporations and governments are well within their rights to issue such currencies in exchange for their goods, services or even money, and provided that they do not default on the promissory notes. That's always the rub in an financial transaction. Can your business pay tomorrow for a promise it made today?
