  • The Interdictor Mk2 was built to include a Faraday cage in conjunction with other EMP shielding techniques/materials in order to ensure that the weapon system not only would be safed from the immense electromagnetic activity it projects due to the nature of Rail Gun technology, but also as a defensive measure against enemy attacks which might target the electronic integrity of the system.

  • Capital Ship Negation (The Interdictor Mk2 was designed with the intent to quickly negate enemy/opposition Capital ships. It has an immense amount of firepower meant to rip through shields and hull armor.
  • Rail Gun (This weapon fires projectiles of electromagnetic force)
  • EMP Shielded (See Special Features)

  • Slow Fire Rate (The Interdictor Mk2 has an incredibly low rate of fire and takes time to recharge between shots, turning the weapon system into a sitting duck between shots)
  • Maneuverability (Because of the Immense size of the weapon system, the movement of the weapon is very slow when taking aim. It takes a longer time to narrow aim onto a particular target. Furthermore, the Interdictor Mk2 cannot fire while in motion)
  • Hit Box (The sheer size of this weapon makes it an easy target for opposition to target and engage)
  • Not a Flyswatter (This weapon system stands little chance of successfully engaging a shipping smaller than the size of a moderate cruiser)
  • Overheating (this weapon system cannot fire continuously as the firepower it possesses generates an abhorrent amount heat. By the completion of a third consecutive volley, this weapon will have to stand down or risk critical damage which would threaten the structural integrity of the entire weapon system)
  • Power Consumption (because of the immense draw on power this weapon takes during its fire sequence, in certain cases, it is required that a ship shut down all other non-vital systems in order to fire this weapon)
  • Limited Use (Along with the weapon system’s power consumption, its sheer size limits its ability to be mountable to certain ships. It is ill-advised to mount the weapon on any ship less than 1800 meters)

After the development of its predecessor, the benefits of this technological contraption were widely noticed across the Confederacy and the weapon platform was acquired in large numbers, even with its substantial cost to the customer. It seemed as though everyone wanted the technology and platform to defender the worlds they held under their protection.

However, as time would go, as fleeting as it was, it did not seem as though the Interdictor Mk1 would be enough to satisfy the appetites of those who desired its ability to both suppress and negate a hostile force’s attempt toward takeover.

It wouldn’t be long after the Mk1’s implementation that Jorik, and Valnora Enterprise’s board would be visited by quite the unsuspecting personality. A man of significant influence within the governing authority that held his home, Druckenwell, within its clutches. One of the two Exarchs of the Confederacy had arrived in person to hash out the contractual information toward a modification of the original design. It would take a bit of time to hash out the technicalities of the request, but it wouldn’t be impossible by any stretch of the imagination. Adron Malvern Adron Malvern had simply levied a question in the company’s direction. “What would it take to make a variant that would be securable to our flagships?”

It was received as more of a challenge to the corporation’s leading authorities than it had been a genuine inquiry, and with that challenge they set off to work. The work would be divided out among Valnora Enterprise’s most esteemed engineers, scholars and scientists on just how the technology could be shrunken down yet still carry over a considerable amount of the strengths its parent form possessed. It wasn’t a quick process by any stretch of the imagination, but having the base plan set because of the Mk1’s development, it would proven to take significantly less time to develop a working and logical schematic for its construction than it had its predecessor.

Even so, there were a number of failed attempts to successfully create it. Whether the weapon system was still too large, didn’t carry over the firepower desired, or any number of other rationale, the Mk2’s development was plagued with minor fallacies, which in time proved to be more significant.

However, after the seventy-fourth iteration of the concept, everything seemed to pull through to fruition. At last, they had developed the technology in a small enough for that it would carry slightly reduced firepower from the Mk1, however was able to be carried as part of the overarching armament of the galaxy’s largest and most powerful spacing faring warships. However, there still were certain drawbacks to the system. Because of its enormity and power consumption when firing, the weapon system could only be carried by vessels in the upper echelon of the Star Destroyer class or larger. In some cases, if the power platform was not of adequate proportionality, it would require all non vital functions of the ship to be shut down, just to fire the weapon which in turn strongly limits its implementation.

So the strengths that have the MK I should be MK II.

How does it retract into the ship? Also this should be strength

The reload capacity of none? How is this a thing does it have to be reloaded manually?
