Description:
The Inquisitor-class Stealth Frigate is a ship constructed in secret for use by Protectorate Black Ops. Constructed inside a series of apparently run-down covered shipyards, each ship is constructed by droids. No organic eye is allowed to cast a gaze upon the ships before they're complete, at which point they're whisked away to secret Protectorate locations. No ship has a transponder, no identity to make it as Protectorate-owned. For all intents and purposes, the Inquisitor-class is a ghost line of ships, myths and drunken tales.

In truth, the ship is a marvel of modern engineering. Most ships receive after-market modifications to their systems to give them stealth capabilities. The Inquisitor was built from the ground up to be a stealth ship. All of the construction materials are functionally non-magnetic. Great care was taken in the forging process to remove all possible magnetic impurities. As a result, it would take an intensely focused magnetic beam to discover the ship. This does mean that the hull is not quite as strong as contemporary hulls, but main combat is not the purpose of the ship.

Next, the ship has a coating of Nightshadow, rending it completely invisible to sensors. Its dark coloration also means that even when in plain sight, unless a strong source of light exists behind it, it's nearly impossible to see with the naked eye. Next, the ship has TibannaX engines along side normal ones. The rare isotope renders its engine emissions invisible to sensors, with the secondary engines being used for non-critical operations. Along with a gravitic modulator and internal heat sinks, the Inquisitor-class can run silent and cold for extended periods of time. Lastly, the Inquisitor is equipped with an expensive stygium cloaking device to truly render it invisible.

All of this comes at a price; literally. The Inquisitor is exceptionally expensive to manufacture, as its parts have a very strict set of guidelines for use. As a result, the Inquisitor-class is carefully maintained and great caution is exercised when sending the craft out for operations. While it is perfectly capable of engaging other ships in direct combat, it's not a preferred course of action. Each Inquisitor does carry two escort squadrons, one expensive Wasp squadron and a less expensive Paladin squadron, alongside a number of dropships to insert troops to target zones.
