INFINITY GATE RUINS, TRASK

tumblr_nt19z7eiit1s5dlrdo1_640.jpg

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make a ruin that allows for greater study of forgotten pre-Republic history.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Trask, Infinity Gate, Kwa
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Infinity Gate Ruins
  • Classification: Infinity Gate. Currently a ruin.
  • Location: Trask's Northern Pole
  • Affiliation: Unaffiliated
  • Accessibility: Relatively hidden, trapped under sheets of ice and below the planet's sea level.
  • Description: The remains of an ancient portal that once allowed the Kwa civilization to travel across the stars. Now it's little more than a petrified frame, hidden away from the world in a glacial cavern on the ocean-covered moon of Trask.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Entrance: A withered stone staircase that once lead to the heart of the structure without roadblocks. Now, it's almost completely consumed by ice, with only a small gap allowing any kind of access to the ruins that lie deeper within.
  • Catacombs: A Kwa burial site to the right of the Infinity Gate. A staircase leads underground even more so, where skeletal remains of ancient Kwa lie in catacombs, many reduced to dust by time. A stone arc with broken pedestals that once housed statues marks the entrance.
  • Portal: The Infinity Gate itself, or what remains of it. It stands at 35 meters, constructed into a ruined wall. The wall itself is all that remains of a larger structure which seemed to have been destroyed long ago. If not for the ice that has incased it, the wall would collapse. The Gate is no longer active, having sustained far too much damage in it's 30,000 year time on Trask to ever be operational ever again.

SECURITY
None. While the ice provides a challenge for entry, the structure itself is abandoned, leaving it virtually defenseless. If there were traps installed, they have long since fell into disrepair.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Infinity Gate on Trask was built around 30,000 BBY by an isolationist sect of the Kwa of Dathomir, who feared that the expansion of their civilization would lead to the downfall of the Kwa. They settled Trask for only a few hundred years before a plague ravaged their colony, wiping them out completely. The structure and it's surrounding would be swallowed by glacial activity and the moon's ocean surface. The majority of the colony would be completely destroyed by time, with only the ruined Infinity Gate and a lone burial site left standing, trapped beneath the ice. No knowledge of the site's history is known in the present day.
