Odacer-Faustin Space
The Daemonhammer

The defection of an Imperial General, Commanders and Officers, the majority of the 7th Army and dozens of Imperial Warships had been a heavy blow to the remnants of the Imperial Confederation.

The Imperial Communique from Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen that followed was meant to tighten the grip around those who remained.

Nonetheless all these recent events had raised questions. They had also created opportunity.

The Daemonhammer came out of hyperspace with a Victory_II-class_Star_Destroyer and four Stygian-Class Corvette.

A relatively minor contingent by any sense of the word save for the fact that the Daemonhammer remained an immense battlecruiser with an enormous amount of firepower.

Odacer-Faustin hung in the ether, a terrestrial body that was known for its cold and harsh terrain its landscape was constantly buffeted by heavy snows and high winds. It was an unremarkable world save for two factors. One it was the site of an ancient Sith Academy and two it was now within space controlled by the Mandalorian Empire.

Approval had not been sought nor obtained in this case. It may as well have been considered an unsanctioned mission. The reality was the Imperial Ruling Council did not have a stranglehold on the remnants of the Confederation any longer though and while the majority of Confederation forces had been recalled to the 'Fortress Worlds' it was a logistical effort that would have involved thousands of ships across vast swathes of space. One did not simply collapse into three worlds and expect everything to go as planned.

Garon was, quite possibly the most senior Inquisitor still active in the Confederation and while an Inquisitor held limited sway or command through means other then intimidation he'd read the political landscape. Imperial Officers not already in the shadow of the Inquisitorious were all to easy to cow, some were altogether willing to simply fall under his command. No one questioned him aboard the Daemonhammer, it helped that a veritable army of Purge Troopers were under his control.

Almost immediately after the contingent had dropped out of hyperspace three of the Stygian-Class Destroyers would engage their powerful engines and descend to breach the atmosphere of the planet.

On board the Daemonhammer the bridge buzzed with life.

Officers reported sensor readings and scans, monitoring signs of activity.

His massive frame, clad in 'Menasor' Armor reclined in a command chair while he watched holographic displays around the bridge. An Officer approached to report that...
"Lord, the Corvettes have begun their descent towards the ruins of the Sith Academy and are preparing to deploy their purge platoons."

...Taregh would nod, grunting something in acknowledgement before replying completely...

"Good. Their priority is retrieval of anything significant from the ruins. Maintain scans so that we are aware of any Mandalorian presence."

...the Officer snapped to attention...
"Yes, Lord!"

...then left Taregh who remained in the command chair.

Comms frequencies would maintain contact with the Victory-class Stary Destroyer, the Felcrest which would further deploy two squadrons of fighters to maintain a perimeter around the remaining three ship that hovered above Odacer-Faustin.

Ideally the Mandalorians wouldn't register this incursion into their space. If they did that was equally no matter though.

This thread is open to the Imperial Confederation and anyone from the Mandalorian Empire if they are so inclined.

The Corvettes breached the atmosphere of Odacer-Faustin. Atmospheric friction shields making them appear as miniature comets until they came through on the other side of cloud cover where heavy snows began to buffet them.

Across the desolate landscape it was not difficult to locate the ruins of the ancient Sith Academy. Sensor scans were completed. Coordinates and drop zones relayed between the three ships as they burned across the skyline.

Drop zones were triangulated.

Each of the Stygian-Class would claim a landing zone that created a triangle around the ruins on opposite sides.

The Corvettes hovered, ramps extended from bays at the bellies of the ships. Within moments of extending platoons of Purge Troopers, one for each Corvette would rush down towards the frigid landscape of the planet. When boots were on the ground, trekking through snow as deep as their knees the troopers began to establish a perimeter.

Above on the bridge of the Daemonhammer an Officer relayed the progress to their Commander...

"Corvettes have made planetside and troopers are disembarking now, Lord."

...which caused a nod of acknowledgement from Taregh who remarked...

"Excellent. Maintain contact with the teams. Elevators to the sub levels where laboratories were located may not be functional however there are alternate routes."

...the Officer snapped to attention. Information was relayed to the teams via comms though many of their Commanding Officers had already been briefed. The Sith Academy was ancient, predating many of the wars of recent memory however this was no less valuable. It had been the birthplace of Project Blackwing prior to the Galactic Empire naming it that.

Notes and formula that had been used in the creation of the alleged Sith 'Immortality' potion were likely lost however viable samples would still remain. Project Blackwing had been noted for a survivalist instinct even on the microscopic level. A shame the Mandalorians might not know the value of this otherwise barren world.

The Victory-class Star Destroyer, Felcrest hung in the black of space somewhere above the Daemonhammer positioned a few kilometers away.

The Stygian-Class Corvette that had remained with the two larger vessels burned away, it would complete a wide circle of the planet at range to ensure no vessels were using the terrestrial body as cover.

As of now everything proceeded as planned.

The descent began with a tremor that rippled through the hull—subtle at first, then building into a steady vibration as the corvette bit into atmosphere.

Gelyra'veth Rys barely acknowledged it. She stood near one of the narrow viewport slits, arms folded loosely across her midsection, posture composed but far from relaxed. Below, Odacer-Faustin stretched out in muted tones—dust, industry, and the faint scars of a world that had seen too much traffic and not enough care. It was not impressive. It was not inspiring.

It was, however, where she had been told to go. Her expression tightened just slightly. Joining the group. The phrasing alone had been enough to sour her mood hours ago, and it had not improved with time. She did not join things. She evaluated them. She tolerated them when necessary. And, when appropriate, she outgrew them.

This—whatever this was—felt very much like the kind of assignment designed to test patience rather than capability.

Her gaze drifted from the viewport to the faint reflection staring back at her in the transparisteel. Composed. Controlled. Predictable. Exactly what was expected of someone operating under the shadow of authority. Or, more specifically—Under the direction of her pseudo-commander, Mika Tai En Mika Tai En .

Gelyra exhaled slowly through her nose, the motion almost imperceptible. Moff Tai En had a way of issuing orders that sounded optional while somehow remaining entirely unavoidable. It was a talent, she would admit that much. Irritating, but effective. And now here she was—folded into a deployment she had not requested, descending toward a mission that had yet to justify her presence.

Her fingers flexed once against her sleeve before stilling again. No matter. If she was to be inserted into this… collective effort, then she would observe first. Measure. Determine where the fractures were—and there were always fractures.

The corvette shuddered again, more pronounced this time as atmospheric drag intensified. Somewhere deeper in the vessel, systems adjusted, engines compensating, pilots making their micro-corrections. Gelyra pushed herself off the bulkhead with quiet intent. Annoyance could be indulged later. For now, she would step into the role expected of her.

And if the group proved inefficient, disorganized, or otherwise beneath the standard she intended to operate at

…then she would correct it.

One way or another.

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
ODACER-FAUSTIN
[REDACTED]

Nobody really wanted to address the Bantha in the room.

He was of average build, about 5' 10", and completely unremarkable in just about every way except for two tiny details: the armor he was wearing and the Junk Saber that was hanging off of his utility belt.

Ernejus Vencos was no "mere" Storm Commando or ARC Trooper, he was a Junkyard Knight of Mahporeem, a powerful force user who had fled the collapse of the Diarchy and traveled to Mahporeem to offer his services to the Imperial Remnant, services that Mahporeem was all to willing to accept. When word had gotten out that Taregh Garon Taregh Garon had launched an unauthorized expedition to Odacer-Faustin, the Imperial Remnant had decided to investigate, to find out what exactly had caught the Inquisitor's attention and why he had dispatched such a large amount of resources to such a relatively unimportant world.

Of course, complicating this mission was the fact that the Imperial Remnant was unsure if Taregh Garon Taregh Garon was still on their side or operating solely within his own interests, and with the MIN Collateral Star currently out of commission, the Imperial Remnant would have to do everything in their power to avoid detection for the time being. A single CR90-EE Corvette and the MIN Fool's Errand jumped out of hyperspace on the opposite side of the planet, away from Garon's ships and forces. The CR90-EE Corvette immediately engaged cloaking as it went to shadow Garon's fleet while the Fool's Errand deployed the Night Reaver and a number of Lambda B-TIE Gunship/Transports to begin descending to the planet's surface, with the intention of finding whatever Garon wanted before he was able to find it. Should it be discovered, the Fool's Errand would immediately jump to hyperspace as the CR90-EE Corvette stayed behind, its stealth systems hopefully proving adequate to avoid any kind of detection.

That being said, considering that a High Inquisitor was leading the expedition to the planet, it was likely he was looking for Sith or force related items, which was why Salvage Team Six and more specifically Reclaimer Squad had taken Vencos with them. If anyone would be able to find them Sith or force related items, it would be him, and just having a force user with them in general would likely make their mission much easier...assuming the men on board the Night Reaver could get over their mistrust of force users!

The small armada continued their downward descent, completely unsure what exactly might be awaiting them...

On the ground the Purgetroopers would begin to move in.

Heavy snows that constantly fell across the planet meant that progress would be slow but the Purgetroopers were undeterred.

Remanants of the Sith Academy were ruins, buildings had collapsed in on themselves and walls were blown out providing multiple points of entry. The Snowfall covered everything, a birds-eye view would have revealed the extensive damage to the ancient academy as well. Windfall did not help the circumstances, the constant buffet rearranged the snows regularly.

As the Purgetroopers that @Gelyra'veth Rys had accompanied began moving across what was at one time a courtyard the Captain would have turned to her and the mechanical sound of comms activating would have crackled out...

"No signs of activity on this level but the old ruins still have some power."

...he showed her a reading from a scanner that indicated there was power on the lower levels below the main academy.

That was their destination, the laboratories beneath the academy ruins. With any luck a turbolift would still be operational. Any power was likely minimal though, leftovers from archaic equipment and generators.

Each platoon of Purgetroopers numbered twenty (20). @Gelyra'veth Rys would accompany the platoon she was with to the lower levels unless she deigned to stay up top. They just needed to find an entry way now.

In orbit the Stygian-Class Corvette which had begun a wide circle around Odacer-Faustin would have detected both the Fools Errand shortly after it had jumped out of hyperspace and the Lambda B Gunship/Transports as they went to make planetfall.

The CR90-EE Corvette would escape detection due to its stealth systems.

Immediately they'd be identified as Imperial Ships aligned with the Imperial Confederation and Mahporeem. The Stygian would relay this via comms back to the Daemonhammer which would be reported to Taregh via the Captain of the Battlecruiser who approached the Inquisitor...

"Lord, we have reports from the Stygian that it has detected Confederation ships associated with the Mahporeem Remannt. One which jumped out of space shortly after arriving and several Lambda B class ships which are breaking the atmosphere towards the surface."

...the new drew a brief grunt from Taregh who'd narrow his eyes and command...

"Relay information to the Stygians below and their teams. They should expect company. Unknown if it is hostile."

...he'd take no chances. Officially they were all friends, allies but this mission was unsanctioned and so the Inquisitor was unsure what to expect. The Captain would move back to the comms where an Officer would relay information to the Victory Class, Falcrest and the Stygians below. They would know about the Lambda's before they reached the ruins.

Two Squadrons, basic TIE Fighters would continue to maintain a perimeter. They'd launched from the Felcrest.

As an additional precaution several squadrons on the Daemonhammer were put on alert, prepared to launch and provide ground support if necessary.

For now they would all wait and see unaware that one vessel had escaped notice.
