It has been many standard weeks since I have found any sign of what I am looking for, but that does not cause me any discomfort. Indeed, perhaps the opposite for if the secrets that I am looking for were so easily discovered, even with all the tools I have available to me, then no doubt they would have been plundered long ago. While there are much more obviou-

"Yep, it's like I told you, ain't nobody on here heard of a Csillian Comet"

Looking up from his questis and notes, Lasuril's cobalt brow furrowed as he looked at the barkeep with slight contempt.

Ithorian, middle aged, second mouth and third throat overly filled with coagulated saliva, possibly too much imbibing of rich spirits, also likely dehyration occuring from too much time in deep space, second stomach seems slightly inflated and yet rations for crew seem standard, access to additional nutrients obviously available, potential smuggling seems likely.

"I find that very strange considering the proximity to Csilla, basic probability surely informs you that running a restaurant or tavern near Ascendancy worlds would also have a large number of Ascendancy customers who are hoping to have access to familiar meals. Perhaps you can assist me in another endeavor my good sir?"

It had been sometime since Lasuril had chosen to come out from the small quarters he had managed to procure aboard the class A modular freight, it was one of the few crafts that routinely made it's way to the planet Volik, near the border of what had once been Chiss space. Most of his time had been spent reviewing his notes and research, ensuring that his deductions from holocron he kept even now tucked against his hip in sack, but even he needed to nourish his body every so often. But perhaps these sentients may be off assistance.

While Ithorian body language was one that the Chiss wasn't overly familiar with, it would have been obvious to any that assisting the young man was the last thing it wanted to do.

Rotating his questis, Lasuril brought up a rough topographical map of Voliks surface, taking his marker and zooming in on various parts.

"I can see in these regions that there are multiple settlements that seem relatively busy but additionally there seems to be ruins of some kind here, however it seems that the roads should have been maintained to these sites, either for archaeological significance or even for basic research. Do the citizens of this area have some faith-based fear of Jedi and their relics? Or have they simple chosen to leave these areas unresearched, potentially from a lack of understanding or even lacking the proper means to catalogue these? And also if you cannot help me can you point me in the direction of someone who can?"

The questions were fired off in extreme rapid succession, and the Ithorian took a step back at this seemingly rapid verbal assault. Blinking slowly for a few seconds as it digested, it roughly snatched the glass it had placed previously in front of Lasuril and shuffled further down the bar, grumbling under its breath.

With a dejected sigh, Lasuril turned to the filled cantina and tried to see if he could see anyone amidst the crowd that looked as if they may be able to assist.

Bounty Hunters, no doubt experienced but also likely to attempt to steal from me-

Cloaked woman, potentially a member of a martial cult based on fluidity of movements-

Three cloaked figures, hoods up and runes, symbology similar to those in the holocron, perhaps??

Word had spread of a threat that was beginning to burn it's way through the rim, a militaristic creed or savage brotherhood, the rumors had never been able to pinpoint or provide specifics, potentially because there were never any survivors and they were all captured, also potentially because the stories were exaggerated. Regardless, while the garb and attitude of these three travelers were aggressive and confident, the more that Lasuril examined them the more similarities he noted in the style of clothing and tattoos they exposed briefly when they reached for a drink and the symbols and discussions referenced in the Holocron.

"If any are able to assist me with my research into the Jedi and their potential relics on Volik, I am willing to pay!" he announced loudly, breaking the hum of noise that filled the room for only the briefest of moments before it resumed as the taverngoers returned to their conversations. Surely somebody would be interested, whether it be someone with genuine experience and knowledge, someone viewing him as a threat to their own claim, as is just as likely, somebody hoping to swindle him with false information.

Regardless, it will be an expansion on what I know now, perhaps the Ithorians smuggling is in conjunction with the quartermaster, although unlikely, as a member of the Devaronian species...

Once again back in his own realm of theoretical possibilities, Stybla'sur'illmorf picked his questis up and began to make his way back to his quarters.

With a set of robes drawn around her usual outfit, and with a hood drawn over her head, Valery sat quietly in the back of the Cantina of the Exponent. Normally, she wouldn't hide the fact she was a Jedi as much as she was now, but on civilian freighters this close to Maw territory, she had to be extra careful — Valery had many enemies within the Brotherhood, and the list of Sith wanting her specifically dead was growing almost at a daily rate.

So she just sat alone with a cup of tea on the small table in front of her and observed. She wasn't expecting anything interesting or noteworthy to happen during the trip to Voliks, but at least it was better than staring at the ceiling in her quarters.

"This seat taken?"

The voice of the man who approached her was somewhat slurred, making it obvious that he was drunk. Behind him, at the bar, his buddies were watching with large grins but none of it bothered Valery, who raised her cup to her lips for a slow and careful sip before answering, "Yeah, it's taken," she replied dryly.

"Are you su-"

He stopped as a rather loud voice suddenly interrupted him.

"If any are able to assist me with my research into the Jedi and their potential relics on Volik, I am willing to pay!"

Valery blinked at the mention of the Jedi and while the drunk patron was turning back to her to resume his attempt at joining her, she was already getting up to her feet,
"Please excuse me," she said and without waiting for a response, she followed after Stybla'sur'illmorf Stybla'sur'illmorf . He had piqued her interest with his request, but she also wanted to warn him to be more careful with his approach.

Eventually, she reached the door of his quarters and rang the bell while the hood and robes still covered her. Until she was inside or somewhere in private, she wasn't going to drop her concealment.

When the door finally opened, she dipped her head lightly and spoke,
"You need help with research into Jedi relics? I might be able to assist."

Returning to his room, Lasuril began his ritual that always took place when he entered or left this quarters. His questis and stylus were first removed, a brief inspection of battery life and to see if any knicks or dents had accumulated before it was placed down next to the small bed that was his. Next his outer coat was hung next to the door, allowing the cool air of the vent in the wall to flow over his face before the final step.

The small E-11 shock blaster that he carried was placed within an arms reach of the bed, ensuring that if anyone with nefarious intention did enter the room, they were in for a nasty surprise.

Likelihood of someone hoping to speak 45% with a 40% likelihood they are a grifter or conman, adjust for mercenary behavior and military personnel to return a 45% it is someone hoping to merely mug me, leaving a 15% of someone with genuine experience and knowledge to come to the door.

As he was musing a way to potentially sway the abysmal odds, the door rang. With a raised eyebrow he grabbed the blaster before walking over to the door. While it was a poor tactical choice to open and keep your body covered by the walls and only your face exposed, the Chiss wanted to ensure that if the 15% of someone coming to assist had somehow come about, he didn't scare them off by immediately shoving a blaster in their face. In the 0.7% chance he calculated of a Jedi on board, it would likely end his journey then and there.

"You need help with research into Jedi relics? I might be able to assist."

Woman from the bar, human or near enough, young by visual appearance but nothing certain, perhaps rejuvenant surgeries or something more? No obvious signs of medicinal scarring, hood still covered, no signs of the others she was with, allies? Ambush unlikely, could just barge in and attack me here, perhaps genuine offer?

"Yes of course, please come in."

Stepping back into the room to unblock the doorway, Lasuril took the blaster out from behind is back and held it loosely in plain view, ensuring that while he didn't adopt a threatening posture that he was obviously armed.

"I have been searching for a follower of the Jedi way for quite some time now, but I am merely a scholar hoping to learn more. My name is Lasuril. May I know your name?" he rapid fired out before smiling and giving a brief bow.

"Yes, of course, please come in."

Valery nodded her head lightly and stepped past him to get inside the room. Only there, she lowered her hood, allowing her long, dark brown ponytail to cascade down behind her. With a gentle smile resting on her lips, she turned around to face him, her eyes only dipping briefly as she took note of the blaster in his hand.

It wasn't too surprising, considering where they were, but she hoped her lack of a visible response to it would help calm his mind.

"I have been searching for a follower of the Jedi way for quite some time now, but I am merely a scholar hoping to learn more. My name is Lasuril. May I know your name?" he rapid fired out before smiling and giving a brief bow.

Valery bowered her head briefly in return, and shifted one part of her robes aside to reveal the weapon on her belt,
"I'm Jedi Master Valery Noble, a pleasure to meet you. I understand why you're armed, but please don't worry — I'm not here to cause problems." She spoke with a calm tone of voice, and the smile from before was still there.

"You took some risk back in the cantina calling for help like that. Or maybe a calculated risk?" she smirked a little, "Either way, I'd be happy to help if you can tell me a little more about what you exactly need?"
