Miss Blonde

Trying to be straight in a crooked Galaxy
The capital building on Antecedent was bustling today, there were workers running messages everywhere and doing various odd jobs. Antecedent was in the starting steps of its transition from a crime ridden planet to an nation of industry and progress. No more were the days of murder and organized crime, now people could walk the streets safely.

This was thanks to people like President Peter Ross whom [member="Matsu Ike"] would be meeting with today for lunch in the capital building and discussing contracts and the sort. Matsu was the "On the record" second company owner to come forward and request to have a contract with the United Systems of Antecedent and their kind.

So waiting in the capital building's indoor garden Peter sat on an easy lounge chair and puffed at a cigarette that was maybe laced with only a tiny bit of spice, like only a bit. Teeny tiny amount. Either way Peter was getting his smoke on and it seemed like it was the only way he could get through the stressful days of being president during this transition. Matsu had the green light to head inside and meet with the President and she'd of course be given the normal pat down and procedure of customs and courtesies. Such as addressing him as Mister President.

The galaxy was changing or at least it was getting better in many of the things while she was going through the datapads and the ship to ensure they had everything they needed. She was after all making a presentation for all of the products to work with the people there letting some of the products be displayed. All of the new stuff they had been working with was getting very very useful. "Alright, lets go and see some of what we can do." She was working with some of them to get Saotome off the ground and well it would serve a very nice internal purpose in all of the construction efforts. She even had more of the very nicely built and constructed anti force glaives. THeir creature index and self sustaining factory ships. "Alright lets go and meet this man." She stood with one of the main operators of Saotome to go and meet the man.

Peter kept laying back on the lounge chair sparking up his spice laced cigarette and exhaling clouds of smoke that lazily drifted through the air until it dispersed into nothing. He got a slight high off of it and it made him feel relaxed, like he didn't want to get up and face the rest of the day and just say fuck it. But then again he had two million shiny reasons why he had to keep going.

When the woman walked into the indoor garden she'd be able to see a man dressed in a colorful peach colored suit with a yellow dress shirt smoking away at what smelt to be a normal cigarette with a little extra something in it. Peter didn't think Matsu knew what spice smelt like but it was only barely noticeable and even if she did it wouldn't matter, his word versus hers.

"Ah! Miss Ike! Please sit!" Peter said as he motioned to the other laid back lounge chair with a drink table between them.

"We'll get right to business."

Matsu stepped in looking at the man, raising her eyebrows while taking him in and bowing her head. She hadn't expected him to look as formal. Most she met with were careful but casual in their looks... One of the benefits of moving on up she was guessing towards getting a more rich and powerful level of governments. She could work with that standing there while her operator came in next to her bowing just the same. "Thank you, this is a very nice place." She left out far better then other places she had met but why not if it was. Ones office usually showed how much care and professionalism they have in situations. "Shall we get down to business?" She was liking it and bringing up the holo display of quiet and the inventory of the storefront for them to see. There might be plenty they like.

Taking a look at the product list and company operations the man pretended to know what he was doing, really none of this mattered. He didn't care if Matsu was selling used Popsicle sticks, all that mattered were that orders from up high said sign her and get her ass out the door. The idea was to make things look legit and happy, and when people were living their happy little lives, working their happy little nine to five's, living in their happy little houses then no one bothered to look under the surface.

And with a name like Sasori then people would see things were on the up and up.

"So let's talk options. My people have resources available. We have the Stygium rich planet of Enigma Prime that we can rent out operations on, portions of a shipyard you've seen when coming in, and lots of space where we've cleared out old shanty towns and drug spots to make way for jobs and industry. Now which of these would you be most interested in and we can start there?" Peter said in a very professional tone.

Again none of this mattered, they wouldn't be having this meeting of the council hadn't made it so. But appearances needed to be kept after all.

Stygium mines and operations were always useful, they had really not gotten all of the bigger things. She knew they were working on getting some of the cloaking devices built up. Hibridium and Stygium were an important thing she could go with. "That could come in handy, we have a hibridium cloaking device we have been working on making more of for facilities but more stygium could make ship cloaks." They had several mines for it as well which was a very nice thing to have when you were out and about in the galaxy same with all of the phrik they needed. Provided plenty of places. "We can also always use some to provide within the mass market stealth units we make." Which most didn't have one type let alone three camo systems you could put an entire army in.

Peter looked over to the woman and resisted sighing, if it were up to him the meeting would be over and the woman would be booted out of here on her ass. It was mainly due to the fact they wanted Stygium and hopefully the conversation would track over towards providing factories for the people of Antecedent to work at. But he'd go along with it for now.

"Right well, anything you mine our government makes eight percent of the profits, and of course those are contract prices. However there is a stipulation, as we are trying to provide jobs to our people to keep from crime we have a hard term that any entry level employees are hired by your corporation in their mining efforts. Of course you can have your supervisors be from within your company but we need to provide jobs. But other than that it's eight percent for the mining rights and jobs for people."

That was really all that needed to be said about the Enigma situation. It was a good deal and it helped out both parties quite a bit. Jobs would help keep people out of trouble and provide stability towards families.

Matsu looked at him with a raised eyebrow while bowing her head. "Providing jobs is something we try to do, there are training facilities and courses we have trainers for as needed." She wasn't worried about percentages for them, construction could be done and people hired then trained as needed. The equipment was easy to use and their major dangerous mining had large special droids they could use on many of the things. Some of the major facilities were coming up on her datapad to show it and the tried and true design of the warehouses. "If you have a place to start the construction we prefab the buildings and can get things moved in within seventy two hours. We can have production up within days going into it with trained people."

"Let's sign some papers then." Peters said as he lifted up his spice laced cigarette.

Taking a puff of the relaxing poison the man exhaled his smoke away from Matsu then grabbed the datapad for the woman. He loaded it up with the basic three point contract. Enigma Prime mining rights, factory building plots, and a few spots on the shipyards. Everything was straight and on tbd up and up and he signed the bottom of it where he needed to.

He would then pass it over to Matsu to let her send it off to legal or sign it then and there. He on the other hand would lay there on the lounge chair and continue to puff away at his cigarette.

Matsu was in agreement to that, time to get signing and well they could start getting all of the things going in and around themselves. She was prepared for any number of the different things. Watching him sign and pass it to her as she started signing it while reading it over to make sure everything was there. It wasn't to much of a problem and hell she could handle it as needed finishing up and making notes on her own datapad for it. They had been working on a number of things in Sasori to continue to expand the company outwards and into something larger then just itself. "There we go, everything will be in order and we can move onto the real fun which is after signing celebrations on our own."

Once everything was done and papers were signed, Peter sat back in his lounge chair and inhaled some more of his spice laced cigarette. Feeling pretty good about what had just transpired and the added industry to Antecedent he looked up at the ceiling for a few moments just day dreaming about things. But reality had to bring him back eventually, and luckily it was to the idea of signing celebrations.

"Well let me just say Antecedent is happy to be doing business with you and I hope you enjoy your new operations. But sadly I have other things to get to today, if you need anything else my secretary Barbara can assist you." Peter said in a very relaxed voice.

"I'm just gonna chill here for a few." Peter would then flick some ash off his cigarette into the soil next to him.

All and all it was a half decent day.
