Imperial Vindicators
"Through service I repent, through duty I earn. Justice will be served."

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: The Imperial Vindicators are a unit of Force sensitives from Vandemar serving the Imperial Knights of the New Imperial Order.
  • Role: The Imperial Vindicators are the Force user unit compromised of the Force sensitives discovered on Vandemar. It is a highly specialised imperial knight unit, its focus on extremely hazardous terrain or most extreme battlefields. They are trained and enhanced like the Vandemarian Legions making every individual a potent soldier on its own, but additionally they receive training in the Force by the Imperial Knights and adhere strictly to their codex. They are an elite unit, skilled in tactics as much as in combat and the Force. They are the first project which involves both the New Imperial Order and the Vandemarian Principality.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Imperial Vindicators
  • Affiliation: Vandemar, New Imperial Order
  • Classification: Super-Heavy Force User Shock Troops
  • Description:
    • "There is No Force Without Order,
      No Order Without Discipline,
      No Discipline Without Will,

Through Order I Control the Force" - Code of the Imperial Knights
    • Full Spectrum Crusaders
      • Imperial Vindicators are trained to be highly disciplined, well-rounded, and multi-purpose capable shock troops, their Vandemarian Legionnaire enhancements and training improves on the aspects even further. Unlike the Jedi or the Sith, the Knights are taught the full spectrum of warfare within the military structure of the Vandemarian and New Imperial Military.
      • They are well versed in battlefield tactics, special operations, and mastery in several weapons: unarmed combat, blaster rifles and pistols, demolitions, and lightsabers, utilising squad tactics over individual fighting.
      • This is called Full-Spectrum Warfare. The Vindicators conduct themselves as soldiers and defenders of the New Imperial Order, Vandemar and it's citizens first.
      • They follow the belief that the Force is a tool and nothing but a tool, they are soldiers and warriors first and foremost, no zealots or monks. Non-Force skills are as important as the skills with the Force.
      • They adhere to the Vandemarian belief of the Force being not fit for rule and support the idea of removing the Force and its users from positions of control over the masses who do not belief in it.
    • Imperial Force Codex
      • The Imperial Vindicators conduct themselves not by some morale code or code of power, they are secular and are governed by a codified set of military laws which have been compiled into an Imperial Force Codex.
      • The Codex covers everything from: Lightsaber maintenance practices, Training, Conduct on the Battlefield, Rules over the Force - including prohibited Force Skills which the Codex deems "Lead to Paths of Instability and Corruption", and Rules of Force Development and Use.
      • This is designed to keep the Imperial Vindicator from falling to the Darkside or relying on impractical Force Doctrines like those of the Jedi.
      • The Codex is paramount and anyone who deviates from the Codex is placed under Military Tribunal.
      • Should a Vindicator be deemed "Crestfallen" (i.e. fallen to the Darkside) they are either rehabilitated or executed depending on their trial.
    • Recruitment & Training
      • Vandemar: The Imperial Vindicators are all Force sensitives which are found on Vandemar.
      • Early training: No force sensitive is conscripted before the eleventh year of age, but if his Force sensitivity is discovered earlier, they have to serve in the youth brigades. They are then trained for five years in most aspects of warfare, an extreme regime done by the Legions Praetors, the drillmasters, who push as far that even Force sensitivity is challenged.
      • Conversion: After their 'basic' training, they are sent to become Vandemarian Legionnaires, receiving the enhancements to create super-human warriors out of them. This also includes an inhibitor chip which is altered to allow for more Imperial influences, but still strictly obeying orders.
      • Real training: Then the real training starts, including lessons on neutral applications of the Force and leaving both Light and Dark side powers as taboo. A doctrine of the Force being a tool is put in the minds, adhering to the Imperial Knight codex of the New Imperial Order. They daily routines will only include four hours of sleep from now on.
      • Squire-ship: Only after deemed worthy to venture out, a Vindicator Tiro is allowed to accompany a fully fledged Vindicator into battle and will have to prove itself there to become an Imperial Vindicator.
    • Schools
      • Paladin: The guardians of the Empire, the Vindicator-Paladin is a formidable warrior armed and trained to lead and protect their comrades in the chaos of open warfare, the Paladin is typically armed in Vindicator armor, utilizing a lightsaber pike and shield or single lightsaber and shield to protect himself and his allies from danger.
Paladins are resilient fighters, able to bare the punishment of sustained combat over time, meant to lead from the front and fan the flames away from their allies so that they might press the advantage in battle. They are the archetypal Imperial Knights.
      • Templar: The sentinels of the Imperial Knights, the Vindicator-Templar is a savage bladesman able to combat even the most powerful foes. The Templars are uncompromising, cunning and dangerous in their approached, typically equipped with Vindicator armor with modifications made to best suit their personal style of combat utilizing a single lightsaber, two lightsabers or a retractable lightsaber pike all based on the personal preference of the Templar.
Templars are fit in mind and body, meant to tangle in with the most powerful opponents of both dark and light, the Templar is a duelist first and foremost- able to defeat their enemies in single combat with brutal efficiency.
      • Cleric: The Imperial Vindicators do not make use of this classical Imperial Knight school, their focus solely on combat and their Vandemarian origin opposing a too deep study of the Force.
    • Ranks
      • High Captain (Knight Commander equivalent): Commander of all Imperial Vindicators. Varus the Sigillite
      • Vindicator Primus: Unit commander
      • Vindicator (Force Knight equivalent): Rank & File
      • Vindicator Tiro (Knight Errant equivalent): Apprentices
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Unique
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function:
    • Goals:
      • Uphold the Imperial Force Codex
      • Defend the New Imperial Order and Vandemar
      • Support New Imperial Order and Vandemarian Military
      • Enforce the Vandemarian Doctrine against Force Users who are not Imperial Knights (recruitment or eradication)
    • Tactics:
      • Shock Troops via mechanised or airborne means
      • Countering Force users
      • Serving as beacons and rally points for allied troops
      • Providing tactical insight or taking command in dire situations
      • Taking out enemy commanders
      • Breakthrough unit
      • Diagrammaton: The Diagrammaton is a system of warrior partnerships among the Vindicators. Originating from the successful Knights of Zakuul, it is a system where two warriors work together in a union, one being the offensive partner, the second the defensive. The spearman, the offensive partner, is the one harassing the opponent and pressing on the attack to deal the killing blow, while the shieldbearer, the defensive partner, is taking the role of a tank, moving to keep the enemy busy and distracted. For experienced Vindicators the switch can come organically, even multiple times during a single fight, which makes it very challenging and difficult for individually fighting opponents like Jedi or Sith to overcome this combat doctrine.
Strengths:
  • Shock Troops: Due to their power armor and improvements, their training and further equipment, the Imperial Vindicators make the perfect shock troops. Armored, heavily armed they are a deadly force on any battlefield.
  • Devoted: Through indoctrination, inhibitor chips and propaganda, these soldiers know no disobedience or remorse, they do as they are commanded and move on. Professional and cold every day of the year. Furthermore they follow the Imperial Force Codex to the latter, Darksiders or extreme Light side usage nearly unknown.
  • Force Users: These soldiers have the typical advantages of Force users, quicker reflexes, precognition and can improve themselves even further through the application of Force techniques.
Weaknesses:
  • Training: Due to the extreme high standards, the training times are several years of daily training. Losses are time intensive to be replenished and therefore major losses will take time to be filled up again.
  • Expensive: Cybernetic, bio-engineering and high-end equipment, the Legion demand a high percentage of the military spending.
  • Force User Only: The unit is taking Force Users only and if they are not fit for the enhancements, the recruitment portion is even further lowered by the already small percentage of recruitable individuals already.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Following the joining of Vandemar with the New Imperial Order, the Imperial Vindicators were officially formed, drawing all Force sensitive Legionnaires into the units and starting a program to secure reinforcements. High Imperator Sigismund had foreseen the development, mainly because he had steered it that way, of a joint unit, the Forgelords of Vandemar already having stored an armory for the new unit. Simply exterminating all Force users would be useless, especially since the only case where Sith and Jedi were both overthrown, was by neutral Force users, by the Knights of Zakuul, by himself.

After evaluating the Imperial Knight Codex of the New Imperials, Aurelian deemed it worthy to be recognised as serious and acceptable opposition to the ways of the Jedi, Sith and all further abominable Force practices. The Imperial Knights distinguished themselves through serving in battle, not as brutal leaders or hypocritical monks. The only addition he made to it are the workings of the Knights of Zakuul, fighting in formation and as a unit, not individuals.

The Vindicators are the refined result of what the Knights of Zakuul and Vandemarian Legionnaires would have been in union. Gene-enhanced shock troops, perfect for any battlefield, Force sensitive and utterly devoted to the goals they are indoctrinated with.

This is a beautiful and well thought out submission! It was a great read. However, I do have one adjustment that I'll need you to make before approval:

Regarding Equipment, due to the Unit Ratings of Small and Rare, the members of the unit may only use equipment rated at Limited, Minor, and Mass Produced. Because of this restriction, please remove the Vindicator Armor Mark I 'Repentius' from the loadout. You're welcome to replace it with another armor set within the range provided but a Semi-Unique item may not be used.

Feel free to tag me if you've any questions/concerns or once edits are complete!

Bumping it up to unique would mean deploying one Vindicator at a time. Double checking that that's fine by you before approval. If it isn't and you'd like to keep the armor with the Small-Rare combo, you'd have to request a submission modification from the Factory and change the production rating to Limited.
