As Sularen traversed the ballroom, he was approached by a Dornean who greeted him in his native tongue before switching to Basic, further thanking the Supreme Commander for inviting him and other high-profile representatives of his people to this event. While the Imperial Confederation did not have a great interest on Dornea, given the ongoing situation along the Perlemian Trade Route which demanded the Confederation's immediate attention.

Still given the Dornean People's specialization in naval shipbuilding, building strong positive relations with them now would be incredibly beneficial for the Confederation and ensure a swift integration of Dornea into the Confederation in the future, giving the Confederation access to their shipbuilding capabilities.

"The Imperial Confederation values the creation of strong bonds with neighboring planets as to facilitate future integration." the Supreme Commander responded. "Naturally, i figured your people might be interested in today's event which would give your people some insight on the Confederation." he added. "That being said how do you find today's event, General?"

“150 years of getting shot at for a living”
"Hey, sorry. Got caught up in the crowd."

He looked a little short for a Stormtrooper, but Alex knew his task today. He put a hand on Daro's shoulder, before taking a few breaths from inside his helmet. "Rough set up we got here, eh?"
Daro turned around to see the relatively short stormtrooper and he had to contain his amusement. It was a decent disguise for blending in where more intense scrutiny wasn’t a factor. But if anyone was actually looking to spot a pretender, his non-regulation height was a potential giveaway. The armor seemed to just barely demand a larger frame, which, now that Daro was paying attention, amused him a little. He was, however, impressed at the man’s courage to go out in ill-fitted armor in a public setting like this.

“Look, lady, I already have a girlfriend.” Daro said, testing. Something about the posture and build of the little stormtrooper told Daro that he was probably not thin-skinned and would respect the “hard-to-get” approach, “I might make an exception if you’re willing to wear a set of antlers later though.”

He emphasized the code-word, “antlers”, as he had been instructed to work it into a sentence when approached by a random stranger.

“…no, Dorneans use army ranks in their navy.”
Antio sipped his drink to give him just a moment to focus on the question that Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen asked before answering tactfully, “We are more interested than I think you would be aware, Supreme Commander. My people are eager for growth, change, and protection. Old customs have held us back for far too long, and our culture has been far too entrenched. It has cost us, and we need… leadership.”

He then gestured towards Vyllia Sancetti Vyllia Sancetti and Eirys Santhe Eirys Santhe with the drink that he was currently nursing, “Companies such as Santhe and Umbrella represent innovation and growth. Our homegrown company, Braha’ket Fleetworks is entrenched into our heritage and, thus struggles to embrace change. We are trying, but… well… let’s just say that the Braha’tok gunship is still our signature model after nearly a thousand years of stagnation.

“Needless to say, we could use some… inspiration.”

Antio did not bring up the fact that a minority of Dorneans were opposed to joining the confederacy for fear of losing their heritage. But he hoped that Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen would pick up his hint. Antio and the rest of Dornea would need the help of a proper hegemonic power to remove these obstacles, but a politician would be foolish to say such things aloud…

IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
NEW ALDERAAN, OUTER RIM TERRITORIES

TimHzFP.png
The Gluttoneria. It was a large and powerful warship, a feature of Imperial engineering and sheer power which presented the bridge between the Imperial Confederation and one of it's key corporate allies, the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. Along with the Sularen's Revenge and the Aternus, it existed as one of the most powerful ships within the Confederation's Naval Arsenal, an effective force multiplier that served to increase the Confederation's naval power projection across the galaxy.

As the Imperator Corps performed grandiose marches throughout the streets of New Aldera, Admiral Hamilton found himself on the bridge of the Gluttoneria, standing right beside Governor Amalia Visconti and Admiral Squesha as the mighty Imperial Super Battlecruiser flew above the city in a grandiose display of Imperial might. Hamilton was glad that Sularen had reconciled with the N&Z Corporation and put their rough past behind as they had contributed heavily to the Imperial cause and played a key role in sustaining the Imperial Military-Industrial Complex.

Already the Governor and the Admiral were deep in conversation discussing about simple things in which he decided to chime in a bit. "I'm not bit surprised." he said in response to the Governor's remark about Squesha's subordinates. "Admiral Squesha and Rakel's new training program has proven to be extremely effective thanks in no part to the technology provided by N&Z, producing great amounts of highly-skilled personnel for our Navy." he added.

For a moment, Amalia smirked, hearing the other admiral standing besides her on the bridge finally speaking their mind after Admiral Squesha Squesha had already done so. Sure, these fine officers of great rank and renown within the confederation must have felt somewhat dismissive of the fact they were not to be in control of the fine vessel they were aboard of, but instead were under the care of but some mere governor...that was, if this governor wasn't also the Chief Executive Officer of the N&Z, backed by both the official chairman Tertius Nargath, but also by the shadow whose returning grip over the company and all its associates became more palpable than ever before.

"The Lord Commander was gracious enough to seize the momentum the N&Z had created within its own divisions," Again, the woman smirked. She did so because the N&Z was like a spider's web, having many connections with many great and powerful men and women, yet most remained unaware of the connections of the other. The Imperial Confederation was different though, as a place where the ideals and pragmatism flowed just like they had done within the Zweihander Union, where now the visions of the Lord of Hunger and Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen coexisted and strengthened one another rather than clash and create cracks... aligned with Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss ' bureaucratic wit and his status as a technological savant, all the confederation needed was a glue to bind them...a sticky web, which was ofcourse the job the N&Z excelled at... to join together all of the confederations divisions through corporate control, through mutual interest and a united front in any and all future aspirations. "Even if the small fish try to cling to the lifelines thrown out by SularenCo, the N&Z has already won the strategic positions and he knows there's no other option than to unite and broaden our horizons and our assets."

Pointing at the holographic display, on which the parade below could be seen, the starfighters and gunships performing daring stunts, proper flybys, the massive Gluttoneria lumbered calmly forward. "We have the military might, we have a growing and expanding trade network, with increasing populace growth due to the collapsing core... the necessary experience and capability in our military and civilian corps... and finally, we have the position that allows us to grow without notice, to expand without having to look over our back. Admirals...what we are celebrating is not the end of a struggle...but the beginning of our future."

Rieva "Killshot" Alonn

Just call me Killshot, boys
Killshot observed the newcomer with the quiet patience of one that was used to awaiting combat. Her gaze followed that of the other; taking note of the officers filing into the establishment. Killshot herself was not a drinker of spirits. The call to take to the skies could come at any time and so she needed to keep as clear of a head as possible. Anything could happen, and at any time.

"Killshot," she responded, prefering to use her alias rather than her real name. "And it seems as though they are on the house." Her gaze shifted back to Roz'lyn. "Although I wouldn't over indulge, if I were you. A hangover in an officer's quarters is one thing. A hangover in a cockpit while trying to avoid somone getting on your six is another."

Squesha listened carefully. When Amalia spoke, it always payed to listen. She nodded.

"For the people. Thats why we do it. Even if they could never understand all we do."

Squesha felt a swell of pride from Amalia's compliment, especially when Admiral Hamilton added to it.

"I thank you both. The training program is possibly the most important program I have worked on, and to show the results is a proud moment. If Rakel were here I have no doubt he would feel the same. The holographic simulation chamber in particular has been an enormous asset."
Squesha smiled. Normally Squesha would never agree with such a bold statemetn in public, but given it was just the three of them Squesha felt comfortable enough to voice her thoughts.

"It is good to be amidst like minded individuals. I have noted that for some time much of the Confederation's resources have been dedicated to the army and other ground infrastructure. Where as we know that the heart of any empire is it's navy. For without a navy we could never expand. This ship we stand upon is perfect symbol of the return to the true focuses of the Confederation."

Vyllia Sancetti said:
"I was very surprised to receive an invitation. Though I am sure I could find former associates and maybe even friends here, I have not had much contact with the region since the Confederation was formed. I would like to change that."

Vyllia Sancetti said:
"I would love an Alderaan Ruge, assuming one could be dug up."

"Of course I invited you," Eirys explained as she led Vyllia and Shrya towards the bar. Signalling with her hand to the bartender, and waiting for her turn to be served, Eirys settled her tired, stupor gaze back to her cousin to continue their conversation. "Growing up I heard a lot about the matriarch of the Santhe family. By the time I was old enough to join the business everything had begun falling apart, and you left for Bastion. Now that everything has settled down and normalcy has returned perhaps we can start getting to know each other. I would really like that."

Vyllia Sancetti said:
"The Marquis or one of his associates?"

"I prefer the smaller ships myself. A corvette at the biggest. I suspect this spectacle has drawn something bigger. We might as well take a look."

"I haven't seen Marquis Nargath since Harridan joined the Diarchy. We negotiated a settlement with local businesses planetside during the liberation. As I understand it he has taken a step back and was replaced by Amalia Visconti who is the new face of Umbrella," Eirys replied. Behind her the bartender approached and inquired about what they were drinking today. "One Alderaan Ruge and I will have a Tsiraki. Can you bring it us over there?"

Gesturing in the direction towards the panel of windows overlooking the streets of New Aldera, where the procession march was in full swing, Eirys turned back and grinned at the bartender who agreed to bring both women their drinks. Afterwards Eirys continued conversing with Vyllia while they walked towards the windows to enjoy the festivals amid the underlying tension that existed between the two of them for the elder Sancetti considered her younger Santhe cousin to be a possible participant in the assassination plot which almost took her life during the economic collapse of the Empire of the Lost.

"I know that you have come here today to link up with old colleagues and to enjoy the festivities, but we do have something to talk about. It is about Umbrella and Santhe corp." As they pulled up to the window ledge, where the Gluttoneria loomed above the city in all of it's splendour and monstrosity, Eirys bit her lip nervously and nodded in Shyra's direction to ask: "Could you lose the guard? It is a private thing."

Vyllia had taken on the mantle of family matriarch at a young age, but it always surprised her to hear how cousins had heard stories of her when they were "growing up". It made Vyllia feel old to hear it, even though she did her best to remain young. She was a new bride forming a new House and hopefully soon she would be starting a family of her own. She had to tell herself that these stories were more about her status than what she had actually done. She had learned a lot when she was already the matriarch of the family.

"I would certainly welcome getting to know each other better," Vyllia responded as they were walking over to the bar. "I wish that I had a chance to grow up slower and get to know more of the cousins. Maybe if I was known as Vyllia instead of Matriarch Santhe things would not have devolved the way that they have. If you are wanting to put time into getting to know me now. I would certainly do the same."

Vyllia nodded as Eirys stated that Marquis Nargath had withdrawn some lately and had sent a representative in his place. Vyllia had heard the name, but she didn't recall having any sort of formal meeting with any Visconti. Eirys asked the bartender for the drinks and requested them to be brought to them elsewhere. Vyllia looked in the direction that Eirys had pointed. It had been a while since Vyllia had taken a look at New Aldera. Though New Alderaan was the seat of the former Emperor, Lianna had been the capital of his Empire and the home to Vyllia's company. There was little reason to come here. "I came because I received an invitation. I was hoping that there would be several opportunities, both business and personal. If you have business to discuss I am happy to do that first…"

Then mention of her "guard" had Vyllia's lips bend downward into a disappointed frown. She didn't want to appear overly cautious. But she didn't want to be dead either. Shyra was going to be upset with her Vyllia went off too far or stayed too long out of sight. "How long of a talk is this going to be? I can get out of earshot for however long you like. Shyra thinks her reaction time is better than a Jedi." Vyllia gave Shyra a hand gesture that was understood to give a little bit of space. "Out of her sight would need to be on the move and very short. I want to show that I trust you, cousin. But if I am honest, I don't know that I can. And I have little doubt that there are people in this room and elsewhere on New Alderaan who wouldn't mind seeing harm come to me. If I get shot at in my first time back in the region Maldor will never let me back without a full investigation and rooting out of all our enemies."

"Hey, I'm a guy under all this armor, thank you very much. And yeah, I might if you're into that. You wanna hit the bar after this? Maybe we can get some drinks, see where it goes."

Alex never partook in what the others did to get the job done, but he certainly wasn't above it. Whatever the job required, he could get done.

Still, he stood tall for the parade it passed them. Under his helmet, a pair of glasses recorded everything. Small enough to not be noticed by anyone who didn't know they were already there.
