OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create the New Imperial Order's version of the canon Galactic Empire's "Imperial Academy" and flesh out the New Imperial Order's modern incarnation of these training facilities, the idea of the "Imperial Cadet Program" comes from Canon where in Rebels children as young as thirteen or fourteen are being trained as Stormtroopers with influences from similar youth organisations operated by historical real-world totalitarian governments.

  • Description: The New Imperial Academy is an Imperial Government organisation responsible for the titular Military-controlled and operated education and training program with residential schools and training facilities throughout New Imperial jurisdiction, its' primary role and purpose is to provide a centralized and uniform military education and training to non-commissioned and commissioned officers serving in the New Imperial Military. It also contains a sub-branch called "The Imperial Cadet Program" which is a militarized youth development program for volunteer orphaned children who are between the ages of four to eighteen in the custody of the state who desire a military career. Upon reaching the age of eighteen these children are then: Enrolled in a Junior or Senior Non-Commissioned Officers' course, enrolled in a junior commissioned officer's course or permitted to leave the Academy with a secondary education certificate. Clandestinely, the New Imperial Military and more specifically COMPNOR in cooperation with Military Intelligence use the Imperial Academy Cadet program as a means of indoctrinating vulnerable and orphaned children into the New Imperial Military in the hope of producing super-soldiers to rival and surpass those of the Galactic Republic's Clone Troopers and First Order's Stormtroopers by recruiting volunteers whose families have been casualties of war at the hands of the New Imperial Order's enemies.

  • Climate: The Imperial Academy is a military organization responsible for the education and training of adult volunteers who wish to become commissioned officers, the facilitator of training of enlisted non-commissioned officers and finally training and preparing wards of the state for a career in the military or broader civil service if medically unsuitable for military service. Like many of its' previous incarnations and befitting a military training organization there is ruthless discipline, rugged physical training, rigorous parade drills and crisply ironed uniforms everywhere which serves to foster a strong sense of camaraderie through the strength of uniformity and shared responsibilities. The Imperial Academy is steeped in centuries of a military tradition stretching back to the Ancient Galactic Republic, there is an overwhelming sense of pride in their own history, an esprit de corps equal to many and superior to most. Excellence through competition is encouraged and even enforced, though unlike its' previous incarnations under the first Galactic Empire students at the Academy are taught that there is no "I" in team and that alone each finger on the hand may be weak but that together with five fingers may form a fist to strike to strangle the New Empire's enemies. Administrative, Operational and Dress policy and procedures are enforced by keen and experienced instructors to the letter, with even minor infringements being punished with copious amounts of report filing and additional duties to ensure the offender is appropriately corrected and their example act as a general deterrent. Few Adult trainees actively enjoy their time at the Imperial Academy but usually look back on their time there fondly, whereas Imperial Cadets who often no know better, think of the Imperial Academy as home.
  • Reputation: The Imperial Academy is renowned as an institution throughout the galaxy as among the finest if not the finest military training academy for non-commissioned and commissioned officers in the galaxy, forming the beating heart of the Imperial Military's discipline, pride and where the operational methodology is developed. Within the Imperial Military, it is thought that the Imperial Academy is what is responsible for producing a uniform standard of quality and training across the vast organisation and it is thought to have a unifying effect on the officer corps bringing together men and woman from different walks of life and economic backgrounds and making them all equals. It is generally considered a great privilege and even an honour to be enrolled in their officer training course and is the envy of foreign powers for its' deep and rich history. Darker, however, is the training of children in military skills and warlike training such as: Abseiling and rappeling, camouflage and concealment, drill, explosive ordnance disposal, fieldcraft, fieldwork, marksmanship, watermanship, navigation, field camping and advanced emergency medical treatment. Some would accuse the Imperial Cadet program to be responsible for indoctrinating and training impressionable and vulnerable children to fight for the state and they would be right. Still, the Imperial Government maintains that the Imperial Cadet Program is a "Youth Development Program" and censors its' training details and any linked casualties from the media. It is rumoured that the Imperial Cadets are being used to recruit a new generation of Supersoldiers, not unlike the old First Order Stormtroopers. New Imperial Military Research conducted on former Imperial Cadets has revealed that they are more loyal and perform significantly better than non-cadets in physical fitness and military training making up about 11% of all commissioned officers, although the same studies have found the same former cadets to have lower empathy and agreeableness with a reputation of being more "machine and nerve" than Human, based on this data it has been concluded by some researchers that former Imperial Cadets are comparable in their performance to the Clone Troopers of the ancient Galactic Republic causing much excitement and enthusiasm for them in military circles.
  • Curios:
    • Imperial Academy:
      • Class Ring: Officer cadets who graduate from the Imperial Academy are gifted with ornate decorative rings typically constructed from Titanium or Tungsten with the wearer's class number stamped into the inside surface.
      • Imperial Military Holotags: Officer cadets enrolled in the officer's training program at the Imperial Academy are issued with a pair of holotags featuring their military identification number typically with the alpha-numeric format "AA-xxxxx" with the most common lettered series being "TK" and "LS", the letter combination "CD" is excluded from this format unless the officer cadet is a successful graduate of the Imperial Cadet program.
    • Imperial Cadets:
      • Cadet Uniform: Imperial Cadets are issued with a vacuum-sealed bodysuit which is worn under a distinct white and grey battle dress uniform with prominent iron suns on its' shoulders with the words "Imperial Cadet" beneath it. They are issued a protective helmet that covers the entire face and head. This battle dress uniform can have armour plates worn over it and the helmet is capable of forming a vacuum seal around the bodysuit.
      • Imperial Cadet Holotags: Imperial Cadets enrolled in the Cadet Program at the academy are issued with pairs of holotags that feature military identification numbers with the format "CD-xxxxx" the first two letters denoting their status as an Imperial Cadet with the following numbers being a unique identifier, the "CD" letter identifier is considered a badge of honour among the Imperial Cadets who have gone onto professional military service as they retain this identifier which can only be attained through the Imperial Cadet Program.
      • Palleon Dagger: Each Imperial Cadet trainee upon graduating from their "initial recruit training" and achieving the title of "Cadet" is gifted with a sharp Durasteel combat knife inscribed with the Imperial Academy's motto "Knowledge is Power".
  • Rules:
    • Academic Integrity: The Imperial Academy is an accredited university and education and training provider, as such, it subjects its' officer-cadets to the same rigorous tests of plagiarism, collusion and cheating as a civil university to ensure that a high quality of student is being developed through the education process. Penalties for Academic Misconduct from an Officer-Cadet can include dismissal from the Imperial Academy and a dishonourable discharge from the Imperial Military or deferral into the Enlisted stream of recruitment.
    • Uniform Code Military Justice: All personnel enrolled into the academy are subject to the New Imperial Military's Uniform Code of Military Justice which contains a list of administrative and criminal offences and appropriate punishments thereof, Imperial Cadets under the age of 10 are exempt from being found guilty of an offence against the UCMJ and a presumption of metal incapacity to commit a criminal offence exists for Cadets until age 14, however they can still be found guilty of committing administrative offences as the presumption only provides immunity to offences defined as "Criminal" under the UCMJ.
  • Goals:
    • Encourage academic excellence among the student body.
    • Inculcate a sense of obedience, duty, loyalty and service to the nation.
    • Promote leadership & Integrity.
