15 Bunkers mounted with E-web blasters located in strategic positions outside the hangers.
Points of Interest:
• Hangers Alpha and Bravo, two large hangers that combined hold three squadrons of fighters located deep in the hills of the rock formations. Built into the actual hills themselves
• Barracks, located directly beneath the hangers on the ground these are standard barracks that house pilots, troopers, and engineers.
• Bunkers, fifteen small sand bag bunkers armed with E-web blaster cannons that are located in strategic choke points in various directions around the barracks.
• Hills, The hills around the airbase provide a natural cover and fortification for the base. Snipers are often placed in these hills to patrol and act as an early warning system for any incoming threats.
Description: With geonosis being repaired after the last battle between the rebellion and techno union, the rebellion took it upon themselves to create ground assets to aid in coming battles between the galactic nations. So picking a location with natural fortifications the Im'g'twe hills air base was created.
With two hangers dug into the rocky hills they house roughly three squadrons of twelve so thirty six fighters total. Which is arguably small for a air base but with limited room and funds the rebellion settled on the number. The purpose of course is to provide the planet with an edge to help grant air superiority, damaged fighters can return for repairs or stock up on more ammo.
The smaller base located deeper in the hills makes it harder to assault. Large walkers would have a difficult time traversing the rough terrain and narrow valleys to get to the base so it's mostly left to infantry or light vehicles when it comes to an assault. Which the snipers in the hills can identify and locate informing the rebel troopers on the ground to prepare. The natural rock formation also helps cut down on superior numbers advantage that attackers might bring due to it's closed in nature. Point defense cannons are located across the hills.
The first line of defense of course are the bunkers in various directions and valleys all of which are located one hundred to two hundred meters away from the barracks. These are simple sand bag bunkers and anything from a thermal detonator to a rocket can destroy them but they work well against small arms fire such as blasters and slug throwers. Each comes with their own E-web blaster and while are great to hold against infantry can be overwhelmed still.
After the bunkers are the barracks, these are very standard and house the total population near three hundred rebel personnel. This of course comes with a mess hall and the base needs to be restocked at least once every two months. The barracks have a small four foot sand bag wall spanning around it's back is built to the hills so there is no retreating unless it's through the fighters in the hangers above. The barracks are not fortified with anything else and are easily destroyed by heavy weapons.
The last and best part of the base are the actual hangers that are built up in the hills. Large caves were hollowed out and given a military touch. These are standard hangers and have ray and particle shield doors to protect the hanger, they are roughly forty meters above the barracks and house the fighters, power generator, and shield generators. They have other basic utilities and tools for the engineers all of which are very basic with nothing special going for them.
All and all the base is simply made to provide air support on the planet along with a canon location to do battle in.
History: There is little history to this base. It was founded after the first battle of geonosis and serves as a air base to help support troops on the ground.
