I'll make a Man out of you

Endor – That moment when Jared becomes a Man.

The lush green landscape of the sanctuary moon seemed fitting for the woman as she stepped out of the small ship. There had been brief moments between her student and herself, but the lad had grown greatly and influenced more than the Fringe. The charisma he used to lead the underworld on Coruscant, the compassion he felt for his people transpired to inspire the Fringe and Spencer couldn’t be any more proud of her student.

Though, there comes a time in every student’s journey where the Master and Teacher recognizes them as an equal and colleague. She achieved that early on in her relationship with Ashin and despite the fact that Spencer saw Jared as a colleague, the man still needed to prove himself. A message was sent to Jared with just the coordinates of where to meet her and a note signed Spencer. The woman looked at her fingers as they extended and invisible spears formed between them. Small darts, fueled by dark energies formed resting between her fingers.

A flick of her wrist, the darts sang through the air slicing the vegetation as they passed through. Today Jared would become the Master he was destined to be.

It was then that the Lord of the Fringe stepped out of the clearing behind his Master. "You missed, my Master." he said with a warm smile as he studied Spencer, watching for any sudden movements. He had the feeling that this meeting would turn out to be one of those initiations where the student gets his ass kicked to become part of the family. It would certainly be an interesting fight, he had learned much from Spencer and Ashin but there was always more to learn and more to master. He only hoped he had become worthy of her teachings. Nothing more was important, for he knew that beating her was out of the question. The woman was a powerhouse in her own right, even the Empress was wary of her power and that said something.

Silently he bend his knee and awaited her further words. Listening intently to what would come next.

Chuckling, Spencer brushed aside the blonde strands from her brow. The boy was always respectful in his own rights. Arms folded in front of her as she tilted her head taking in his form. The workouts he had participated in with Ashin had paid off and he was sure of himself. Not to say that he wasn’t when they first met, but there was something different – something more accepting in him.

“I won’t next time you know that Jared. Question, do you still have the lightsaber I gave you?”

She continued to smile, but Jared would know there was something up the woman’s sleeve. She wouldn’t ask such a simple question and leave it at that. There was more, but what?

His eyebrow slightly raised at that, it could be just a question. But he had met his Master before and for some reason a grin started showing on his lips, it seemed Spencer wanted to kick his sorry ass and if there was anything he enjoyed, it was fighting against her. Truly an inspiring experience, to get your ass handed to you by what seemed like a normal teenage girl. Gracefully he raised himself up from his kneeling position and with a flourish he made his Sabre appear out of seemingly nowhere. The sleeves of his robe had ample space to hide a lightsabre.. or two.

"Of course, Master. It has been useful in protecting my pretty head from scaring." a chuckle escaped his lips as he thought back at the fights he had been in, the poor sod who got jumped by five thugs was long gone, that much was for sure.

Silently he awaited Spencer's further instructions, she would tell him what he needed to know in due time.

Spencer watched, the man had a new air of confidence. That was a good thing, a very good thing and she would enjoy beating it out of him. A Master of the Force, one that fully understood his powers wouldn’t be conceited, but understanding and graceful. She doubted Jared had learned that yet. Either way, she was going to show him humility and what it truly meant to be a Master.

So many before him that held the title of Master never understood fully what a great sacrifice it was. There were some that put in the hard work, but once they achieved they forgot the work that they put in, then there were others who it was handed too and they couldn’t be any farther from the truth of being a Master. The small girl shrugged off her cloak and didn’t give the boy a second answer, he needed to think on his own if he was going to be taken as an equal.

Spears of Midnight Black formed between her fingers, preferring the smaller size of the constructs she waved her hand flinging the invisible spears towards the man’s shoulder. She gave no warning, but he would need to sense the danger that was coming towards him.

“I do hope you’ve learned how to use it Jared.”

The expectation of an attack had already been there, as such the man was not surprised. Barely moving, he shifted his weight slightly and let the constructs fly past him. If there was one thing Spencer had taught him, it was to conserve your energy and avoid making meaningless manoeuvres that only served as eye-candy. Part of him wanted to make a snarky remark about how she missed a second time, but he felt that this was not the time nor the place for his high jinxes. She was trying to teach him something, but what was it? He would find out soon enough, though he would not wait to find out. Instead he dashed forwards towards her, best defense was an attack.

At least that was what he had learned from his duel with Anaya, being on the defensive could be a strong position. Or a position of weakness. A ball of kinetite appeared in his off hand, also a souvenir from his battle with the red twi'lek, he flung it towards Spencer and winked.

"I have learned a lot since our first meeting, Master."

The ball, a move she read quickly and tied it to the Sith Master that would have taught it to him. It seems Jared had a run in with her old nemesis, she hoped he took a bath afterwards. The ball was launched towards her and taking a step back she allowed herself to gain a footing – stabilizing herself for her defense. An invisible wall of the Force moved with the wave of her hand protecting her from the ball of energy.

A good defense was always needed as well as a good offensive.

The mentalist master smiled as she was about to show the boy the reason she chose the Forest Moon. The plants around her began to shake violently, with a sudden burst of energy they sprouted into growth surrounding her in almost like a cocoon. The vines laced around each other creating a cage, she knew the disadvantages of locking herself into a position – it gave the boy an easy time to attack her. Despite this, she knew exactly what she was doing.

Once the shrub cage finished forming, her eyes focused on him and on the Force. The bonds that connected him to the living force were her target. The Mentalist, smirked as she dug deep into the darkness she now held – remembering the terror of the Phobis device, Spencer made quick work on attacking Jared’s mind. Using Force Horror, she attempted to dig deep and pull out some of his darkest fears she knew his loyalty to the Fringe and to herself along with Ashin. A smile crossed her face as she projected an illusion into his mind.

Death.
On the streets of Annaj thousands of Fringe personal laid dead. A hand reached out and it belonged to the Master as she cried out for him to help. On top of her rubble crushing her from the waist down, on the brink of death – the illusion Spencer continued to cry for help and before she died the words echoed in Jared’s mind.
‘You let us die.’

The moment she 'trapped' herself in a ball of vegetation, he had his suspicions. If there was one thing you could say about Spencer, it would be about her intelligence. She would not just restrict her movements for the fun of it, or to show off her awesome plant-control powers. But what was she planning... that was the question. It did not take long for him to find out though, as her mental tentacles dug into his mind he knew he was karked. His power was still no match to hers, he dropped to one knee and a grimace decorated his face; as he tried to ward off her attacks.

...and just like that he was somewhere else. "Keep it together, Jared. She is just messing with your mind, you are still on Endor." Sadly that rational part of his mind shut down, as he witnessed death and destruction all around him. His one family gone. He was alone again.

Jared slumped to the ground as he whispered. "I failed you.. forgive me."

Tears stained her face as she looked up at him, he hadn’t been there, he was off doing something off world and they were attacked. No one knew, no one could help and now this was the price. Spencer reached out to him wanting some sort of comfort before she died, not finding it her hand fell hitting the blood stained pavement. Allowing Jared to wallow in his self pitty, a strong wind blew and every body before him turned to ash. The rubble started to break down and swirl into a cone and then disappear leaving Jared alone.

He remained alone on the deserted streets, buildings started to disappear and he was now left in the middle of a desert. Winds continued to whip against his face and Spencer appeared to him, in the form he remembered her as. Standing there, the girl stared at him. He had failed the initial test, but now she was digging deeper into his and taking control. She projected herself and taking control of the being in his mind - this was her plane.

“So that’s one of your fears? Seeing us all die...yet you did nothing to help you fell apart.”

Stepping forward, she used the force within his mind to throw him against the ground. A part of her wondered if he would be able to combat her from his mind - if he couldn’t then she had failed him as a Master.

“Kill me @[member="Jared Ovmar"]”

The Force raged across the field and would have crushed the Fringe Lord, but for one curious detail... it passed through him; leaving him unharmed. His form flashed and flickered, before returning to its stable self. Jared stood up from his kneeling position, his face shimmered and then the tears were gone and with them his expression of agony. In place of it was a smile, one he always wore and always would.

“My mind, Spencer... my rules.”

She was in his dominion now, oh she was strong, probably stronger than him. But this was his world, he would control it; not her. That was the problem with most Force Users, they assumed that once they got into someone's brain... things would be easy and sometimes they were; when not faced with a Mentalist.

Spencer had trained him herself, he might not be on her level of expertise yet; but he had the advantage here. This was something he had experienced himself twice already, once during a fight with a crazed Jawa and once... with a broken soul of darkness. When he entered their minds, they had been in control; even if they were not aware of that fact.

“Kill you? I love you, Spencer. But you should not have entered my mind just like that, bad form and all that.”

His form flickered again and then dissipated into smoke and darkness. The wasteland of sand shifted and then changed into a sea of glass beads. Out of that sea raised itself an Akure Leviathan, a magnificent beast of destruction and its target.. was the intruder.

Fight that off, yo.

Spencer clapped slowly as the boy managed to take some control of his mind back from her. Of course she had hoped he would do so if not, well she obviously failed at teaching and should never do it again. The leviathan towered over her and she sighed softly. What was it with boys and their ideas of showing off grand things? Poor Jared must be over compensating for something. Scratching the side of her face slightly she looked up and nodded, this was a dream world - of course it was Jared's, but she was still here which meant she still had some control of his mind. Pushing her influence into his mind attempting to lock him out of power, she shifted the vision of herself into something instead of reproducing it. In his mind she had control of her essence and well - it would be rather difficult for the man to take that over.

Her form twisted and soon took shape of the leviathan that stood before her moments ago. Jaws opened and a deafening screech echoed in Jared's dream world. In a quick swoop of Spencer's now massive jaw she quickly dove at the other Leviathan's neck in hopes of ripping through the creatures vital spot.

And swoop in she did… the moment her teeth touched the flesh of the not-Leviathan, its visage changed into something else. Something tenderer, and more recognizable to Spencer Jacobs. It was Ashin Varanin and her wife was tearing through her flesh, killing her. The screams were agonizing and her death was one of suffering.

Of course, Jared did not really think this would make Spencer feel anything. She was his senior in the arts of the mind, and as such something as trivial as a dream vision of her lover being torn apart by herself? Well, it was grim, but Spencer had had worse. Or so Jared thought.

Still, it should touch her at least a bit. The replication had been perfect, made from her own memories and added upon the memories that he had of Ashin himself.

The body of Varanin disappeared and left the not-Leviathan alone in the dream world. Jared was everything, and still nowhere. His touch on the world was felt, as it shifted into a beautiful field of daffodils.

“I want to play a game, little sister.”

[member="Spencer Jacobs"]

The shift into Ashin was something she should have expected, and she did expect. Attacking memories that everyone knew about especially Jared. Just a moment of hesitation, but nothing more as the time went on. The shifted Spencer ripped through the memory filled mirage and as she did so she stared deep into the mind's eye of [member="Jared Ovmar"]. Foolish to think that the image of her lover in the dream world would stop her.

Again the man was in control of the world and it shifted, Spencer returned to her human form and stood in the middle of the field. She was in control of her own self in his mind and as long as she remained in control she had a chance. Still, it was hard not to smile at the once criminal turned Force user's ability and growth. Standing in the field she looked around and sighed softly. She would have to play with him, it was time to let him lead the way for now.

Spencer rubbed her nose and she looked around. Feeling his presence she laughed and nodded. “Alright Jared, what game are we going to play?”
