  • Limited electricity resistance
  • Fourth degree droid capabilities
  • Variety of sensors
  • Advanced servomotors
  • Advanced combat learning programs
STRENGTHS
  • MagnaGuard Design: An update of an old and infamous model, these droids are made to battle force-users. Their advanced servomotors allow them to move with incredible agility while engaged in combat, capable of matching the speed of a lightsaber(in most cases) with an electrostaff. The advanced combat learning programs it utilizes in battle allows it to adapt to many different situations and fighting styles. The droid body is able to function even after being bisected or decapitated, making it a very persistent opponent. They also come equipped with built-in gadgets, designed after Mandalorian tools made to combat the powers of force-users.

  • Defenses: The agrinium coated duranium armor plating provides decent protection against many forms of damage. The droid body can withstand a few shots from blaster weaponry, and even glancing strikes of a lightsaber. The built-in full-spectrum transceiver also acts as a defense mechanism, allowing the MagnaGuard to detect threats and enemies that it normally would not notice(within reason). An electrical capacitance shield provides limited protection from electricity based attacks, preventing the droid from being easily disabled.
WEAKNESSES
  • Back-up System: Mounted within the torso, is a back-up system that allows the droid body to continue functioning even when decapitated. While not a widely known fact, anyone familiar with the model would be able to take advantage of this, for a single well placed strike to the chest is all it takes to disable the droid for good.

  • ECS: Much like the prototype owned by Lord Mettallum, the capacitance shield built within the MagnaGuard is only able to take so much energy. After prolonged absorption(10-20 seconds) of high levels (powerful force lightning or high/rapid payload Ion/EMP/Electrical weaponry) of electricity, the shield will overheat and shut down. Once the shield has been deactivated, the droid model is highly susceptible to Ion/EMP and electricity based attacks/weaponry.
DESCRIPTION

A project long in the making, Holowan Laboratories has finally begun manufacturing their newest product, the IG-800 MagnaGuard. Named to signify the dawn of a new era, the MagnaGuard droid model has been reintroduced with many new features to combat the force-users of today's era. After months of tests and preparation, a unique prototype model was developed and handed over to Lord Mettallum, to provide field tests that would be recorded and sent back to the research and design team on Halowan.

To cut expenses and the use of resources, the height and weight were reduced to match the original design, allowing the droid to be produced on a larger scale with minimum losses. The IG-800's appearance is similar to the original MagnaGuard design, altered slightly with jagged armor plating to invoke an aspect of intimidation. While not fully capable of communicating verbally right out of the factory, the IG-800 is programmed to taunt opponents, either growling or making off-hand remarks in basic.

Just a couple issues to resolve, and we'll be good to go.

Production: Mass Produced
  • With its daunting resistance to damage on top of speed and skill that can match Force-users, these aren't going to be mass-produced.
  • Canonically, they were the elite of the elite – for a good reason.
The electrostaff uses Phrik, which is a Restricted Material.
  • As per the Restricted Material rules, submissions containing them cannot go beyond Limited in production.
  1. For these two reasons, drop the Production to Limited, please.

  • Please clarify for me what you understand under "prolonged absorption" and "high levels".

Are these droids using electrostaff that are manufactured with Phrik as the Legends wiki implies?

If so, the production will need to fall to Unique, or you will need to perform a RM thread of at least 25 posts for limited production.

I did not intend for them to be using the legends version of the electrostaff, no. I believe I linked the canon version instead, which says nothing about phrik. Could a material be substituted in?
