+ The Dark Side: Born on Korriban under Sith teachings, Ballen-Ist has drawn from the dark side his entire life. Said to run through a Pureblood's very veins, Ballen-Ist is at the peak of his power when harnessing dark-oriented abilities.
+ Trained: Though he is of the Kissai caste, Ballen-Ist's true training in the force did not begin until years later. Having to fight in order survive among his clansmen, the Sith is most definitely in his peak physical form.
-/- Patience: A trait developed over time, as Ballen-Ist sought to correct the mistakes made in his past endeavors. This can be beneficial or detrimental, depending on the scenario. Rarely able to send himself into an uncontrollable rage, the Sith's true dark potential is hardly ever accessed. Instead, he opts to use his intellect to make decisions that will either hand him victory or prolong his survival.
- Caught in the Moment: As a nod to above, Ballen-Ist's thoughts can sometimes betray him. Whether it is overthinking something or simply underestimating an opponent, his sense of superiority will eventually backfire.
- Obsessed: Ballen-Ist hungers for power, whether it be in knowledge or a materialistic manner. The promise of such things is sometimes too great to resist, often clouding his judgement in many scenarios.
Biography
Not much is known about the Pureblood's early life. Born upon Korriban, Ballen-Ist was raised among a clan of his people that lived in secrecy within the planet's cave-systems. Raised to acknowledge his greatness, the young Sith willingly partook in the ways of his people, which were often dismissed as barbaric and simpleminded by off-worlders. This was far from the case, for Ballen-Ist was also made to study ancient texts relating to his people, even learning galactic basic in the process as he was a likely candidate to venture off the planet. He spent the majority of his childhood and all of his teenage years preparing for the outside world, which he was told would 'rain fire upon him from the sky.'
Luckily, it didn't seem like anyone was interested in killing off his kind, other than themselves of course. With all of the pain and anger harbored in his early years, Ballen-Ist left Korriban, following the pull of the dark side as he journeyed in search of other Sith. It was then he met Maleus, a Zabrak warrior that would become his most hated rival in the coming years. Together, the two discovered The New Order, a powerful imperialistic military movement that had control over a large amount of the galaxy at the time. Maleus and he were thrust into the Sith ranks, becoming the first apprentices of Darth Ferus along a few others.
The Sith Lord put them through torturous training, making the Pureblood face death and betrayal all in order to further his training. During this time, Ballen-Ist began to truly harness the power of the force, enveloping himself fully in the dark side. He discovered much that the galaxy had to offer, facing many foes and learning several lessons. With the power he had gained, Ballen-Ist took to training Acolytes once he was Knighted within The New Order. It was to be short lived however, for after only two years, the empire fell apart as most do. The Pureblood then spent his time to do further exploring, facing enemies, gaining allies, even learning new abilities.
Having earlier left his master's side, Darth Ferus would eventually return, secretly bringing Ballen-Ist into the folds of the Sith Assassins, a covert sect of a new growing force in the galaxy, The One Sith. Their reign was great and terrible, wrecking havoc upon many worlds and quickly expanding their territory. The One Sith rule was one feared by many, but they were plagued with in-fighting as many dark side-focused movements tended to be. Even Ballen-Ist was cast out, betrayed by an old student with a grudge.
Once the Galactic Republic fell, The One Sith followed in suit, disbanding and letting other military groups battle the remnants that still remained in their old cloud of influence. Now, the Sith have resurfaced after some time, once again letting the galaxy know of their presence. Ballen-Ist on the other hand spent years working in secrecy, away from those who knew him in order to take advantage of those who didn't. Taking the role of a mysterious executive at the head of Holowan Laboratories, the Pureblood aims to prepare himself with all of the resources he can muster.
