OVERVIEW
Idris Harnell is a Senior Inquisitor of the Inquisitorius, of the Tarkin Initiative.
Once a Imperial Knight in the Post-Imperial Warring States Period, Idris has carved out his true calling as an Imperial, as a result of his nature and the guidance of those who molded him.
An inheritor of his bloodright, of a once-Sith lineage, the second generation free of the yoke of the Sith.

HISTORYThe Harnells of Bastion belong to an ancient lineage that stretches back more than five-thousand years, through Sith Empires and the Lost Tribe of the Sith, to the once-Tapani House Nidantha; they descend more recently from Iannic Harnell, a Sith Lord in the Sith Empire up until the Third Imperial Civil War. Though Iannic - along with his small family - sided with the breakaway state that would become the New Imperial Order, and subsequently the Empire, he met his end as many Sith did in Operation Kyber Dark, leaving behind his wife, Samar, a Special Forces Officer, and their son Gerren.
Idris was born on Bastion in late 866 ABY as the son of Gerren, a hardliner Imperial Knight, and Moire, a Special Agent; his only sibling, a sister named Meralise, arrived in the years that followed.
His very early childhood saw the shift of power from the late Imperator Irveric Tavlar to Emperor Rurik Fel; the remainder of his formative years ran along the slow decline of the Empire after Rurik's demise, the breakup of the Imperial State, and the conflict-rife reorganisation into multiple imperial factions. Idris' parents had aligned with the nascent Imperial Remnant headed by the Grand Moff Ignacious Korvan in its early days, thereby contributing to the fracture of COMPNOR and the Order of the Imperial Knights.
Idris dutifully followed, though not without some regrets at the foul final notes of breaking ties with some of his friends. Soon enough, Idris followed in his father's footsteps, endowed as he was with the birthright of his lineage, and started training as a young initiate of the Knights of the Remnant in his twelfth year, but his father's death at the hands of his former comrades in the Knights a couple of years later, as the various splinters of the Imperial State vied for dominance, burned away any regrets Idris might have felt from cutting those erstwhile friends off, eventually.
This, however, was the second event that would eventually shape the dark slant of the man he would be, for his father's hardline, uncompromising way had long shaped the tilt of his mind and early views as a Knight, such that by the time he came under the purview of his second mentor, Amena Kader, it was her job to merely refine him. In the years that followed his Knighting, while Idris established himself as a skilled Knight-Inquisitor, little of the full extent of the operations he participated in ever saw the light of day. The darkness appeared to spread through him at a natural pace.
Yet despite that, when Korvan got lured into the service of the returned Darth Solipsis, and his former mentor appeared to join the Grand Moff by enlisting in the ranks of the Dark Empire's Dark Side Elite, Idris parted ways with the Imperial Remnant, striking out on his own in something of a rage, continuing a measure of his work in the vein of recovering or destroying Force artifacts he came across, and clashing with any Jedi, Sith, or Elite that crossed his path, or simply got in his way. Months of indiscriminate vigilantism that spoke of what he was.
After the Dark Empire fell, Kader sought him out again, while the dust was still settling. Though he'd resolved to strike her down if they ever met again, for the betrayal of oaths he believed she had done, the revelation of the truth of her actions, the truth of her allegiances, and the touch of darkness it all had earned her stayed him. When he backed down, Idris had only one thing to say to her:
"Took you long enough."
