Icam was born on the planet Seoul 5 in Wildspace in the month of Dekatos, around the time of the Ancestral Lights, according to the customs of the Commonwealth. It was just one year before the official establishment of the Commonwealth. His parents had been test subjects in one of the many Arkanian genetic laboratories, settling in First Order territory after being released by their creators. The first three years of his life were spent in his parents' idyllic farmhouse in a remote location on Seoul 5. His life changed when a meteor shower struck the planet on a tranquil warm night. Icam was playing outside with some of the other village children when a fragment of one of the meteors grazed his arm, leaving a nasty wound and eventually a lifelong scar near his elbow. Due to the periodic meteor showers that hit Seoul 5, a legend emerged: those who were hit by the remnants of a comet and survived were destined for greatness. These individuals were commonly referred to among the Seoulites as "Marked by Stars". While many considered it to be merely a legend, the truth became apparent just one day after the accident when members of the local Seoulite Guild of Force Users knocked on his parents' doors to inform them that their son was Force-sensitive. Although his parents initially hesitated at the idea of allowing their child to learn the ways of the Force, still mindful of the recent wars, they eventually relented. At the age of five, Icam journeyed to the capital of Seoul 5, Sejong, where he joined the planetary order of Force wielders.
In Sejong, Icam learned to utilize both light side and dark side techniques on his journey to becoming a master of both aspects of the Force, in keeping with Commonwealth Guild tradition. His master had been an old knight of the First Order, imbued with pride and arrogance, traits that Icam absorbed from him. It was in Sejong that Icam crafted his lightsaber, a single-bladed weapon of blue hue fashioned from a kyber crystal enclosed within the meteor that had scraped him years ago. Occasionally, the royal family of Dosuun would visit the planet, and on such occasions, Icam would watch from among the millions of spectators as they made their way to the Joseon Royal Palace, accompanied by their Tigerkin protectors, while his master rambled on about how Force users were better suited to protect the royals. His awe at the spectacle, however, mingled with something far darker. As he gazed at the palace with its countless rooms and vast gardens, he couldn't help but recall the tiny farmhouse of his upbringing and the modest quarters reserved for Guild novices. He pondered how, despite its democratic ideals, the Commonwealth still remained a nation where the royals and the powerful held sway above all else. Sometimes, he looks back and wonders if it was when he beheld those royal parades that his aversion to authority began.
Icam was a prodigy in the ways of the Force, and at the tender age of sixteen, he earned the right to go on solo missions without his master. While prodigious, young Icam was also somewhat unstable, prone to bouts of laughter in challenging combat situations and to displays of extreme arrogance when confronted by those who valued tradition over progress. Strength and instability made him the perfect candidate to become a Dark Warden, and organization of force wielders dedicated to eradicating sithspawn and other aberrations. Consequently, when Icam turned eighteen, he was transferred to Hattusa, Dosuun's moon, at the request of the Dark Wardens. There, he delved into the more esoteric and dark forces threatening the Commonwealth, training to combat the forces of the Dark Side. He swiftly ascended through the ranks, earning the glowing tattoos that mark him as a true Dark Warden. Now, four years after joining the Wardens, Icam is a trusted member of this society of protectors.
