Geonosis; confused as hell

Gherron woke up with a massive headache. Sitting up, he grabbed his head and tried to get his bearings. "Wha...?"

"Hey! Yousa awake!" "Ah!" Startled, Gherron reached for his lightsaber. It wasn't there. Looking up to his right, he saw an overly perky gungan standing over him. "Where the hell am I?" "Yousa on Geonosis! Da peoples want yousa to fight, so yousa fight, okay?" Geonosis. Well, that explained the smell, but how did he get here? Last thing he remembered, he was patrolling the undercity of Coruscant. They must have drugged him really well in order to cart him here without him waking. Whoever 'they' were.

Getting up stiffly, he realized two things. First, he was dressed in rags. And second, he started to become more and more aware of a cheering crowd. So, he was in a gladiator ring. Terrific. Hopefully they didn't expect him to fight with just his fists. He was strong, but not that strong. "Okay! Yousa get going now! Thataway!" The gungan pointed to a doorway, which Gherron sighed before walking through. He quickly found himself in the glaring sunlight, and in the middle of a massive stadium. Let the games begin.

Rex had recently signed up for a gladiator match in Geonosis. It could either boost his reputation even more, or damage it. But the pay was decent and he hadn't been in a fight for a few weeks. He was starting to long for another fight, so what better fight than a fight with some cannon fodder the Geonosians dragged in? Well, he was told the person would be cannon fodder. Walking down the corridor wearing his gladiator armor, he stopped to pick up a bit of sand and rub it around in his hands

The stadium echoed with thunderous cheering when Rex strode into the arena, the sunlight almost blinding him. Covering his eyes for a moment until his eyes adjusted to it, he placed a hand at his side, gripping his sheathed vibrosword. It was a simple sword that had won him many a match. After his eyes adjusted, he gripped his other sword, identical to the first, and ripped them free from their sheathes. There was a man in rags on the other side of the arena. If the crowd willed it, he would have to kill the man. That was the part he hated most.

Rex expertly swung his swords in the air, showing off his swordsmanship as the crowd cheered. Then, he slowly walked to the man across from him. It was a large arena, so it would be a decently long walk. There were four pillars in the center of the arena, in a square pattern. Perhaps those were for the executions, he thought as he walked.

Squinting, Gherron tried to get used to the sudden sunlight in his face. When he did, he spied another man standing opposite him, walking the distance across the ring. Before moving, Gherron was offered a sword to fight with, which he graciously received. Taking a breath, he began closing the rest of the gap between him and his supposed opponent. Wheh he got close enough, he raised an eyebrow. "So, are there any specific rules, or...?" He wasn't sure what to think. The Jedi sure hoped it wasn't a fight to the death, as he really didn't favor killing. But if he had to, he would.

Rex was surprised that the rules weren't explained to the man. "The rules are: We fight until one man is disarmed, then the crowd decides whether we live or die. Do what you must to win, but I won't allow that." After speaking, Rex started to circle the man, looking for weaknesses. Any signs of weakness would be Rex's first striking point. They had met in the middle of the four pillars, and Rex circled him within them, his swords held readily in front of him. He noticed that the man was having trouble seeing. Bingo. Swiftly kicking dust at the man's face, Rex swung downward vertically with his right sword and held his left one ready for any attacks.

Gherron watched the man closely, getting ready to attack at a moment's notice. From the aura of confidence he felt radiating from him, he figured the gladiator didn't realize he was battling a Jedi. The knight would have this to his advantage. However, what he didn't expect was the cloud of dust in his eyes. Closing his eyes, Gherron fell into Soresu stance and relied on the force to show him where each attack came from while he waited for a chance to wipe his face. Dirty tricks, eh? Gherron would get back at him for sure.

As his blade fell on the other man's own blade, the loud clang of steel on steel rang out, causing the crowd to scream loudly. They were bloodthirsty, he knew, but if both of them gave a good performance then perhaps they would spare the loser. Even though the man was temporarily blinded, he had managed to fall into a defensive stance, a familiar one at that. Now it made sense. This wasn't cannon fodder, this was a fething jedi. I'm not getting paid enough to fight a jedi, he thought as he drew back and resumed circling the man. "Make sure to give them a good show" Rex said, chuckling as he spun his blades, still circling.

Backing up after the exchange of blows, Gherron got the dust out of his eyes as best as he could. Then looking to the other man, he smirked. So, he'd made it known that he was a Jedi. Good. Now they were getting somewhere. "You make sure to do the same." Going into Shii-cho, he spun at the man with a quick two slashes to the side, followed by a kick to the groin. If that didn't keep his opponent on guard, he didn't know what would.

Rex kept circling the man until he attacked. Expertly blocking the two slashes to the side, he grinned. The man wasn't the best with a sword, it seemed, he must have used a lightsaber his whole life. But the kick caught him off guard. He hadn't expected a jedi to go for a groin kick, so he hadn't prepared for it. As the kick landed, he stumbled back, sheathing his left sword instinctively and clutching his jewels. He kept his sword raised in order to defend himself.

Finally in control, Gherron stood back a minute so his opponent could get some breathing room. Pointing his sword at the man, he looked at him seriously. "A fair fight, i'll do But you play dirty, and so will I. Deal?" As he finished his proposition, he continued to wait on the man's reply, in the meantime looking at the crowds around them. It looked like the entire stadium was full. He wondered if they had been expecting to see a Jedi fight. If so, he'd probably have to use the force a few times to give a decent show. He didn't want either him or the man he was facing off against losing their head over some stupid duel.

"A fair fight? You're not familiar with events such as this, are you, jedi?" Rex smirked as he said this, He gathered himself, standing straight up and looking his opponent in the eye. He charged, slashing horizontally with each sword, on each side of the jedi simultaneously.
