I Spend, Therefore I Am

"I'll go with the stun grenade, containing a mixture of tear gas"

There are several ways to take out those Trando gangsters behind that door, where the brunt of the gang is. Like heating up their weapons, freezing the air and turn them into frozen ice statues, given their cold-bloodedness, she thought, while facing locked closet doors leading to where the rest of the gang would be, while her refraction index is back to normal. And yet, she realizes that her computational power availability pretty much precluded the use of pyrokinesis, given the demands of calculating molecular speeds in her head for so many different objects, and, for some reason she feels she did not have enough computational power to use Force-stasis on so many Trandos even though it seems more straightforward to hit pressure points in the Force than to freeze the ambient air in the room. So she began calculating the molecular speeds of the air in the bunker, mostly oxygen and nitrogen, and hence just the same old diatomic gases that are all too easy for her to calculate, with her brain making the calculations in a flash, especially since calculating the molecular speed was tantamount to just setting a desired temperature. Then, the air in the closet where the Trandos are locked in began to get colder and colder, reaching even the temperatures found in industrial freezers used for frozen food storage, with some of the cold air seeping through the vents.

"Actually, I hope that you like cold, knowing that cold temperatures will stun Trandos if it is cold enough" she told [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] as the temperatures in the hallway began to drop.

Cold...the Togruta Padawan seemed to shudder to a halt, spinning around as her robes billowed out behind her.

"Wait cold...what? You're doing what?"

Even as she spoke the Padawan could feel the air around her chilling her flesh as she skipped backwards, bare feet dancing across the ground as she hopped behind the woman. The further away from the room she got the warmer the air, but still, she could sense the woman was doing something to the room, could sense the Trandoshan's slowing and dropping in the room beyond them. Just...well for the life of her Asaraa couldn't figure out what [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] was doing. The Padawan was visibly struggling to fight her curiosity, her teeth working away at her lower lip as she clenched her hands at her side. To be fair she managed to make it a whole 40 seconds before she couldn't take it any longer.

"How...how are you doing that?"

"Cryokinesis. I'll teach you that later, as well as pyrokinesis, and the relationship between the two. They will be useful for you if you go out in the wilderness for extended periods of time"

Now that the Trandos were frozen into place (although not quite freezing to death), thanks to cryokinesis, the Wookiee cops could safely lock the pick and collect and handcuff the gangsters, while being mindful of not dallying too long in the impromptu freezer. And a few minutes later, about thirty gangsters were walking, handcuffed, towards all the police vehicles that have been mustered for the occasion. Meanwhile, she could feel that [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] wanted to learn these two powers as quickly as they could, but she realized that it would do the padawan no good learning such powers when she might not even have enough energy left to actually implement the lessons. She knew that, sometimes, it's best to pay close attention to one's learning ability, not to learn too much too quickly or else the knowledge would be harder to assimilate in the student's mind. After all, not everybody had an eideitic memory, or otherwise had an exceptional ability to learn. Especially when it came to the Force. As they rode the police catamaran back to Kachirho, now with handcuffed Trandoshan prisoners on their backs...

"Your Force-batteries seem to be a little low. How about we return to the temple and have a little discussion about the implications of the Jedi Code, or some other related topic, before attempting to learn pyro/cryokinesis?"

The Padawan rocked backwards, her tongue dancing across her lips as she considered the master, reaching out to touch the force before she nodded in agreement.

"I've learned rather a lot in a short time, it might be nice to take a break and think back over some more spiritual matters while I manage to let everything settle. It would be a shame to spend all this time learning all these techniques only to forget them again."

The Togruta danced forward, peering past [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] to stare at the Trandoshan's who had collapsed in the other room. The Wookie guards had swarmed past the two Jedi, chains and bindings securing the gang as Asaraa hopped backwards and grinned.

"Besides, I don't think they need our help in there anymore do they?"

"No, I don't think they need our help anymore. You said it so yourself that it was a lot to take in, so I think it would be wise for you to reflect on those three items"

And also on the whole experience of taking part in a law enforcement operation, she thought. True, [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] seemed to appreciate a little field trip, and there seem to be two big types of Jedi to those outside the Jedi loop: either the type of Jedi that did little outside of meditation or the type of Jedi that was little more than a Force-using bounty hunter. As the complexity of Force-powers go up, the reflection time increased, too. Maybe it is best to keep pyro and cryo for a later date, given the complexity of Force-stun and Force-cloak, even though there isn't that much to psychometry, she thought, while they returned to the temple. Perhaps a serving of Skor cake would be well-appreciated, which became popular among SJ naval circles after the second Skor campaign. But she knew not how to proceed at that stage. Togrutas were more accustomed to eating meat than Jessica herself was, but perhaps it was time to eat dinner, and not simply eat Skor cake. Speaking of which, she never got around to eat some, even though she wasn't there when either Skor campaign happened.

"What else do you want to eat, other than Skor cake?"

"You think the kitchen's going to have a steak or something?"

Running around learning new force powers and dealing with murderous gangs of Trandoshans was hungry and draining business, well not so much draining since [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] had done most of the work but she wasn't going to turn down the offer of a meal. Especially if it meant she'd get a chance to keep picking the Master's brain. She was interested in learning the new powers the woman had offered, who wouldn't be, but perhaps that might be best left to another day. A day soon though, but tonight, tonight she knew herself well enough to know she'd be spending the night practising her new techniques, she didn't think that mastering them would be that fast, but it would be worth spending the time if she could at least start to feel a little natural when using the powers.
