Biography:

Born in the season of the turning of the leaves, she came into the world of Midvinter as daughter of Queen Aewen and Prince Eregon. Ióunn Wuduælfen was a tiny baby and her father named her little twig and instantly she became the apple of his eye. It is he that tends to her every need, as he is afforded the time to do so while her mother rules the realm.

Upon finding her feet, Ióunn began her exploration of the woodland realm, as much as her father would allow. He would take her on walks and introduced her to all the trees and creatures that shared the forest with them. It was the Queen, her mother that took her for the first time to see the sacred frozen lake in the middle of their realm and told her of the mysteries that surround it. It was the beginning of her learning, from an early age the woodland folk are taught the ways of the woods, and she delighted in it.

An inquisitive mind would ask many questions about their world and her father patiently would tell her all the stories of the past and everything about life in the realm. “We do not go beyond the mist”, he would tell her, “For there is no need of life beyond our trees”. He would not tell her why, deeming her too young for such knowledge but the day will come when she will ask once more. But to little Ióunn, the mist and beyond it is enticing and one day she will find out for herself.

Months passed and life in the woodland realm remained much the same. Until the coming of midsummer, when the mists parted and allowed a young boy to enter it. Ióunn had been adventuring in the forest as she does and came across this young boy so strange. He was [member="Thrand Hearthfire"], the son of the King of the realm of men, and prince to his people, and very quickly a friendship bloomed between Ióunn and Thrand. Life as she knew it had changed and what was to come would only increase her curiosity to know more. But only time will tell of what will become of this union between the Aelvar and the Valkyri. So onward to Tháinbroek the Aelvar went, her mother the Queen leading the possession along the road that would take them out of their woodland realm and enter that of men. It took the Aelvar a week to ride upon the path until they passed through the gates of the capital.

Although Ióunn would not take part in the talks between the King of the Valkyri and her mother, it was not lost on her the importance of them. But she and Thrand had spent the time in each others company, he would show her all of his home which she loved. After the talks were completed, they returned to Averlorn and she missed her friend dearly. It was not until the War of Ruination would she see Thrand and the others again, but this time it was not a meeting of celebration. Regardless of her father's words, Ióunn left Averlorn to join them all on the battle field. There was no point to living if all that she loved perished and she had just as much right to fight for her home of Midvinter as any of them regardless of her age.

Many people had given their lives that day, the Valkyri and the Aelvar, Boerni and all. But the dearest loss to her was that of her father who was killed saving her and Thrand. It was with great sorrow she took her father's body back home to her mother and all their people. The long days after it seemed to meld into one, her mother had taken his death hard and had spent most of her days wandering the surrounding forests of Avelorn alone with the ghost of her father. Because of this it fell upon Ióunn to take up responsibility of the regent while her mother was mourning and incapable of fulfilling her position and duty to her people.

Ióunn's mother succumbed to grief and died among the trees and mist and reunited with her beloved Eregon. In the days that followed her passing, the people of Averlorn selected Ióunn to be her successor and she was crowned Queen.
