Appearance & Personality

The firstborn child of High King Thyrian and Queen Kära of House Hearthfire, Thrand is the Crown Prince of the lands ruled by the Valkyri of Midvinter. He was named after his late grandfather, and means 'sun' in the Valkyri language of Runian. Born within the comfort of the Great Hall of Tháinbroek where his mother and father reign, Thrand was considered a blessing from the gods by his people as well as his parents, and his father especially has ever raised him with the intention that his son will follow him as the next High King.

Growing up alongside his younger brother Theryn, the two boys were born very different. Thrand was a born warrior, tall and strong and with an unshakable sense of duty to his people and family, whereas Theryn was a sickly, feeble child in need of constant supervision growing up. Despite their differences, however, Thrand adored his younger brother and would never let his illness take away from them being together. When Theryn would have trouble walking on his own, his older brother would happily carry him around wherever they went. Such was his dedication to never let him believe he was any different from anyone else.

Thrand Hearthfire takes ample traits from both his parents; his size and stature taken straight from his father's side as the mighty warrior-king he is, but also the keen intellect and cunning of his mother, as well as her beauty and graceful appearance. Long, white hair adorns his head, reaching well past his shoulders and coupled with a pair of striking green eyes, almost unnaturally so. They are his father's eyes, though only a select few actually know that High King Thyrian's natural eye-colour is green.

Depite the Sith roots of both his parents, Thrand displays none of the cruelty or arrogance associated with their kind. There is a kindness and gentleness to his every action taken and word uttered, as well as selflessness and love. He is a man of the people, never putting himself above anyone or letting his born status dictate who he is. The people may deem him the Prince That Was Promised, but in actuality he is just Thrand.
