OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: This will be the first step in creating an in-depth cultural foil to the overwhelming, "good/evil" skew of the dark and light side of the force. To some degree this is a love letter to Fallen Order's portrayal of the Night Sister, Merrin. Someone using distinctively, "Dark Side" abilities for purposes few would disagree are objectively "good". However, in this instance it would be more about the "light side" of the force used in a manner that, while not strictly or intentionally evil, would be objectively, "bad", with the conceit being, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Of course, as with any fully realized concept, I hope to challenge the binary nature of such systems with more natural shades of gray (IE, an institution and culture which is, on the whole, distinctly undesirable, but which contains relatively few individuals whom an average viewer would consider morally wrong in anything but their application of a broken system.) This submission, and all related submissions have the intent to shed light on the frighteningly real tendency people have to form opinions on individuals of other cultures based entirely on the nature of said persons culture, and devoid of any consideration for the actual moral fiber of the individual in the absence of their cultural biases.
  • Background: While I attempted to give a basic idea of the intent of this submission and my overall project in the intent section of this submission, I feel that some explanation and background into why this project is so meaningful to me or why I intend to do this. This background section will attempt to answer those important, "why" questions as well as to provide some degree of explanation on several questions I can foresee arising over the course of this project. Enough waffling though, lets get into the sauce. _Lets start with me. I am a parent, a spouse, and I work at an international business. Namely, my business originates in China and has multiple branches across Europe, India, Latin America, the United States, among others. As a result, I work with people from a range of different nations and cultures including Indians, Romanians, Chinese, Americans, Latinos, and many many more. This means that I have been exposed to, not only the propaganda and stereotypes towards members of this veritable cultural rainbow, but also the reality of individual human beings who are shaped by there culture but wholly unique from the preconceived notions shared by some. My children live in a world where those preconceived notions color nearly all conversation about people of certain cultures without respecting the individuality of those same people. So, why am I doing this? To challenge the idea that people can be stereotyped and fit into one big box. Why does this mean so much to me? Because I want my children, or maybe my children's children to one day wake up in a world where people are judged solely on their own merits as opposed to living in the shadow of a pre-defined box that they have nothing to do with. _ Now, to answer some questions that I can foresee coming up over the course of this. First of all, the observant may notice that a lot of the images I will be using for this submission are coming from a Chinese sci-fi blockbuster (based on a phenomenal Chinese novel). This brings an obvious question, "is this a simple rehash or an attempt to port said movie into the Star Wars universe?" In a word, no, "The Wandering Earth" is a visually stunning movie which isn't Star Wars. For this reason alone, it gives me a safe and bountiful supply of pictures that I can use to flesh out the visuals of my planet without cannibalizing or re-purposing existing Star Wars material. In fact, prior to this submission I had never even watched or read "The Wandering Earth," it merely came up during my research for images I could use for this planet thanks to the aforementioned international nature of my job. I will have other planet submissions which will quite possibly use other internationally focused sources to provide a captivating and well realized way to show people the worlds I am trying to explain to them. It also serves a secondary purpose of bringing attention to movies and other media that most people seeing this wouldn't otherwise be exposed to.
Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

  • Demonym: Huunin (pronounced who-neen)
  • Region: Outer Rim Territories
  • System Name: Huozheng
  • System Features: [ Here you may list suns, moons, other planets, important asteroid belts, spatial anomalies, or other features of the star system. You may also include orbital position, rotational period (length of day), and orbital period (days in a year) in this section. if you have submitted Astronomical Objects for this system, you may link them here, and if you would like to expand on the system in more detail, you may use that template to do it at your leisure. ]
  • Location: [ This can be a screenshot of the hex from the map with a marker, or you can say that it is located "in X planet's hex" and give a general description of positioning. If you intend to add this planet to the Chaos Map please review the rules thoroughly.]
  • Major Imports: [ What the planet frequently buys from other planets. Common materials and ores should just be listed (Ex. Durasteel ore), while anything special or rare should be linked. ]
  • Major Exports: [ What does the planet produce and bring to the galaxy, note that not all planets have to produce things. They can be barren or have riches yet to be discovered. Common materials and ores should just be listed (Ex. Durasteel ore), while anything special or rare should be linked. ]
  • Unexploited Resources: [ Does this planet have resources that are not yet utilized by the population? Common materials and ores should just be listed (Ex. Durasteel ore), while anything special or rare should be linked. ]
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: [ Standard is Earth-like. Use terms such as "Twice Standard" to describe other types of gravity. ]
  • Climate: [ Temperate is Earth-like. Make notes of anything substantially different yet similar to Temperate. Add Controlled for when most of the climate is controlled by technology. Use words such as Arid or Frozen to describe single biome worlds. ]
  • Primary Terrain: [ Significant types of terrain that can easily be found. Examples: Grassland, Mountains, Oceans, Tundras, Forests, Artificial, Synthetic, etc. Multiple can be used. ]

LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: [ What is the name of the planet’s capital? ]
  • Planetary Features: [ What are interesting artificial features of the planet? Ruins, interconnected cities, floating urban platforms. Stronger Nexus will be more closely scrutinized for balance and fairness during judging. Choose one: Weak (A weak influence on the area and the people on it. A fragile nexus that can potentially be altered by people or events, i.e. a lightside nexus could be corrupted by atrocity or a dark side nexus cleansed by the actions of a mass of Jedi.), Moderate (A moderate influence on the area and the people on it. Could be altered with a great enough event.), Strong (A strong influence on the area and the people on it.
