Hunt the Truth: Temple of Light (The Awoken & Allies/PM to Join)

UNKNOWN SPACE - UNKNOWN PLANET - LOST CITY OF EL DORADO

Ever the nobleman, The Queen strode the the thick ruins of the unknown with an easy grace. Confident, yet unassuming. Strong but not bold. Her face was blank, a common sight to behold, and one might guess that this was Winter without the mask, no pawns to lure, no soldiers to dominate, no monarchs to hide from behind a false face.

Just blank. Empty. And that was how he felt - or rather did not feel - for much of the time. Her moments with her offspring might have appeared touching to a casual observer, or an eager audience expecting of course that since Winter cares for her spawn, she cares for everyone. But while said audience might begin to see the Baroness, creepy smile notwithstanding, as a good 'ole softy, a mother, or even just a woman with normal emotions, and this is simply not the case.

The truth was, Winters' moments of intimacy were just that, moments. The rest of the time was filled with the typical day to day emptiness. Emotions were a hazard that was better gone, and so she did what she could to rid herself of such trinkets as empathy or morality during the times when all she once held dear was snatched away. Read: almost always. Winter might be sociable, might even be friendly. She took a concerned interest in her troops, a meticulous mental phonebook of her acquaintances. She always treated the other nobles with extreme dignity and good humor, peasants with mercy, and treated the puppies with what could almost be described as...a strange motherly affection. All these things made her a generally pleasant fellow. Though she was seen as cold, ruthless, and foreboding...she herself could smile...depending on the circumstances.

But despite these niceties, everyone, including said audience, would be wise to remember that Winter isn't a good person.

A lack of cruelty doesn't disqualify you from being a monster. Her evil was not done frequently, nor was it done carelessly. It was not a passionate evil, it was not a sadistic evil. Winter only did bad things when it was logical and beneficial to do them. The days of mutilating others for no reason was long past her, but mutilating others with reason? Audience, you can figure it out.

Today didn't look like it was going to be a day that required firsthand evil, however. Today she was allowing her soldiers a rare day of rest and so she figured that she would do something that needed to be done a while ago...

The Houses of The Awoken needed introduction. And with that being said, she had recently done some digging...cross referencing old documents of ancient ruins and temples from all along the galaxy...and in her searching...she had found one.

Far in the outer rim...deep unknown space. On a planet as mysterious as The Void itself...she had yet to come into a sentient the entire time she had explored the surface...but one could not shake the feeling of unease everytime she walked the land...

Now...spending nearly a month exploring. She and her seekers had found the ancient city of El Dorado...city of gold...city of light.

And as the Ice Queen stood before the mighty gates of the vacant city...her bright blue eyes remained steady. Her family history made frequent mention of this place...it was...close to the Sovereign Family History...and with The Awoken wandering somewhere behind her after she had ventured ahead. On this day, The House of Truth would have their spotlight.

Oh what secrets lied beneath it's marble stone and withering structures....the truth...would be revealed.

House of Truth
"May the truth guide you through deception."

There are whispers of an ancient clan of those seek that which has been forgotten. Those who have been lost...There are those who are burdened to be the keepers of legends and myth. This tribe functions as the historians of the galaxy. Before the jedi, before the sith. And some whisper before the force itself. They safeguard the bloody history of this universe, stories that have become myth and heroes that have been forgotten. They also protect the future. They know of legends and prophecies, passing them from generation to generation. Until they themselves, became forgotten.

The Seekers legacy reaches far back since before recorded history. Their dealing in secrets, information and stories has been carried on by tales written in symbols within temples on distant planets. The temples locked away with doors which bear their symbol and are scattered all throughout the land, waiting to help those who may seek them. Their artifacts are present in modern day and usually involve seeing in the shadows or finding hidden things. Lastly, their symbol – a red eye topped with three triangles (a reference to the All Seeing Eye) over a large blood-red tear – can be found in several temples across the galaxy.

With the rise of The Awoken. The culture of The Seekers has been revived and have returned to their former glory. Dedicated to the truth of all things, The Seekers hunt valuable and powerful artifacts from all across the galaxy as a way to complete the 'Great Archive'. Which is a collection objects such as crystals, talismans, artifacts, and ect from ancient times. This great Archive serves as a tribute to Truth, which is what they believe to be the one true god. Seekers believe that to see the future, one must look to the past. For the past holds all truth.

Seekers come in all shapes and sizes, but always hold firm to their dedication in seeking the truth. Traveling in small groups the House of Truth often find themselves exploring the unmarked corners of the galaxy in search of these powerful artifacts. Temples, Crypts, and barren wastelands are the norm for them. They also dabble in information and secrets, they go where no one else dares to go. To the House of Truth. Knowledge, is indeed power.

The young spawn of Winter stood, a short distance behind her only parent with that elegant, graceful yet so aggravatingly...empty being of hers. The Princess Sovereign was indeed a sight to behold, so full of potential and promises yet apparently so past them, so non-present that sometimes she just felt like a mirage of a long lost memory who lurked the universe in hopes of finding those who remembered. But then one met her eyes, that intense gaze that seemed to collect the nothingness, the Void inside the self of the Princess and transform it into something both pure and corrupted, both active and passive. She was an observer, an eye who wanted and most time succeeded to see all that lay around it. And right now, she had a whole new city to explore.

Many wondered how come that such a young being as herself could feel so...ancient and mature, so withered. Yet this was only the result of them failing to see the vitality inside the white haired teenager, the great energy she carried and that, for some reason that was deeply ingrained into her personality, she simply covered with a veil of roughness and lack of expressions to be let out when the situation called for it. And the answer to this is, she was measured and reserved. Unconsciously, Iceis did nothing, absolutely nothing if there was not a reason behind it. Her intelligent mind chose to keep itself busy with thoughts and plans than with gestures and comments. She chose to act rather tan to speak.

Her face held as much expression as her mother's did, none at all. That feeling of frozen and dark intensity had also been inherited from the Queen she called Mother and, as though she was a developing shadow, she followed her the steps of [member="Queen Sovereign"] soundlessly. She knew that the secrets and history of the golden city were deeply intertwined with those of her royal family yet she was still to learn how so and why this place was so frequently mentioned in the family's records. The Voidseer felt a very small flicker of emotion inside her, curiosity. It soon subsided back into the familiar coldness of nothingness as her she logically assumed that her doubts would be answered soon enough.

"Do we have any knowledge of how this city was related to our ancestors, Mother?" Her voice flowed, harmonious and enticing yet mysterious and calm as she addressed a question to her Mother.

LOCATION: EL DORADO, ???
EQUIPMENT: IN BIO
CURRENT EMOTION: STOIC

Ghorua stood at attention behind the Sovereign family, quietly marveling in the beauty of the city. He didn't often get to see beautiful places. The city gleamed, enticing the enormous Herglic to take what he wanted from it's depths. But he was on the job, and being on the job meant you did as you were told.

Ghorua was tasked with protecting the royal family in this endeavor, although he doubted they would need it. From what the 10'5'' Bounty Hunter had heard, the Sovereigns could handle themselves. But, a little muscle never hurt anyone. Perhaps they would need something heavy lifted. He let his two charges converse, doing overwatch on the scene, watching for danger.

Ghorua wore his Koodan-Class armor proudly, the durasteel plates dented and scratched from his various close-encounters. He put his Rotary Blaster cannon over his shoulder, the multi-barreled weapon awaiting the chance to roar into action. His vibroknife was tucked into his boot neatly, ready at a moment's notice to strike. Beside the Herglic, his pet Massiff, Bones, lolled her tongue. Ghorua would think that a beast with an amazing nose and impressive physical abilities would be useful while exploring a ruin.

Leaning down, Ghorua patted his loyal pet's head with one meaty palm, and stood back up at attention. Nodding to his charges, Ghorua waited for them to descend into the city below.
