How To Win Friends And Influence Monsters

Spira

A silent tear streamed down Keziah's face as she watched the waves crash onto the shore. The young woman had lost everything in the blink of and eye. She couldn't even begin to understand what had gone wrong. Kezzy had given him her all, everything only to be tossed to the side like a rag doll. Now she only felt pain, confusion, anger and stupid. How could she have let this happen to her? She focused on helping others and look what it got her? Used and abused.

Keziah thought about retuning to the Jedi order but honestly what was the point? They didn't understand her pain. They would tell her to meditate it off or something. It would probably help with the healing process so that was a possibility. She needed purpose too so maybe they could help with that.

Brushing the tears from her cheek Kezzy picked up a nearby stone and tossed it angrily in the water. Crying was definitely not helping her situation but at the moment she wasn't sure what else to do. She had to do something but at this rate she was getting nowhere.

Before everything went south Keziah had been a healer both with and without the Force. She even dabbled with making her own healing potions and medications for the soldiers she was with. They didn't want her help anymore so here she was lost and alone.

Taeli, better known as Darth Arcanix among the Sith, had been enjoying herself the last few days. She had needed to get away from her duties for a bit, from the headache politics had recently been giving her, so she had packed her bags and gone on a little mini-vacation to the resort world of Spira. Walking along the edge of the beach, wearing just a nice sundress, she certainly didn't look like a Sith Lady, and she was keeping her presence concealed to avoid any Jedi who might be around.

Hearing crying, she saw a young girl in her late teens throwing stones into the ocean and not looking all that happy.

"Excuse me, are you okay?" she asked, coming up to her, and noticing something rather odd. She might have her presence suppressed, but she could still feel this girl's Force presence and could feel a maelstrom of emotions under a rather powerful Force user if trained up. Oh dear, how interesting.

Wiping more tears from her eyes she looked up to see that she wasn't alone. It was clear that the tear stained, red faced girl wasn't alright but Kezzy tried to put on a smile as if to tell the woman otherwise. She had been told time and time again that showing her emotions was a bad thing. It only lead down a slippery slope or something like that. Besides nobody really cared what she thought. Keziah was just there kind of like an emotionless blob.

"I'll be alright. I'm just out here thinking about what my next move should be." The young girl stated with a nod of the head almost as if it was she that she was trying to convince and the the passerby. "The ocean is lovely. I enjoy watching and leaning to the sounds it is kind of calming."

The change of subject off of her would hopefully work. Even though she needed help Keziah wouldn't go as far as annoy something with her woes. This woman hadn't come to her pity party after all. She was probably on vacation.

"It is rather calming, I agree," Taeli said, turning to look out at the ocean for a moment. "I needed this little vacation after the last few days I've been having. Politics can be so stressful sometimes. You know, you shouldn't bottle up your emotions inside and hide them. That can leave lasting psychological scars if you do, funny considering that's what a lot of Jedi do. Maybe that's why they always seem a bit high-strung."

Standing silently for a moment, Taeli reflected on everything she had done in the last few days and sighed internally. Yes, definitely best not to bottle up and actually feel the emotions events caused.

Shrugging, Taeli turned back to the girl and asked, "So, can I ask what seems to be troubling you? I suspect perhaps boy troubles, or maybe your friends didn't turn out to be actually your friends?"

"It's what we were taught to do. Showing emotions was a sign of weakness but I never considered myself a Jedi. I was a solider like him and his men." It was silly but Keziah was having trouble saying his name out loud which was for the best. That was her past and all that happened was best left there. It had been a rough time for all of them and she couldn't drag names through the mud.

Sighing she picked up another stone and threw it in the water. "Guy trouble. I gave him my heart, everything only to be thrown away. I don't have anything anymore." A tear streamed down her cheek as she laughed slightly. "Stupid I know." She sighed again wiping that tear away. "I much rather be wrapped up in politics and than this. Anything! We should get out of here and have fun. Mopping around is not doing anything for me. Keziah nodded pretty sure of herself.

"Well I do have a little spending money," Taeli said, smiling a little at the understatement. "And my deepest condolences for whatever this man did that crushed your heart. Men . . . sometimes they don't even realize what they hold until they don't see a use for us beyond, well . . . you know. I guess in a way, this sort of pain makes us stronger in the end. Teaches us lessons we didn't realize we needed taught."

"I don't think I caught your name by the way, my new friend," Taeli said, picking up a stone and skipping it along the water's surface.
