How to Help a Dragon Lady

Location: Mid Rim - Monastery
Amongst the continued construction of Sanctuary, Elijah found himself in an interesting situation. Or well, to Elijah it was more of annoying situation. Somehow, since [member="Cinder Rose"] and her people's arrival, he had apparently been designated the 'helper'. Show one bit of sympathy and suddenly you're the go to guy on Monastery when the dragon lady who can't speak basic needs something.

He just muttered to himself, taking a hearty swig from his flask.

"You know, you really ought to stop your drinking habit."

Elijah let out an audible groan, sending a glare to the woman walking alongside him.

He knew little about her, didn't know her story; her reasons for being part of the OSL. All he knew was what he could see. A mirialan, pale green complexion, rather young; he'd estimated her to be in her mid-late twenties, and her eyes were the most striking feature. Which he reckoned was the origin of her namesake. Hazel

"Trust me Doc, this habit is much more preferable than how I was several months back."

"I'm just saying Eli, you're constantly drinking isn't going to do any good to your health."

"A lot more is probably going to kill me first before alcohol will get the chance to. And don't call me Eli."

"What why not? Samuel does."

"Yeah because he's Sam. He gets to."

"Aaaanyway, how much longer until we reach the patient?"

"We're getting close, don't worry."

Even without a common language to speak, it was fairly clear Cinder wasn't going to be going any distance away from her children or people. So it meant hauling both a Doctor and some of her equipment over to their new abode. Thankfully Hazel had no quarrel with it.

Especially because it was Elijah who was hauling said equipment.

She could not remember what brought her to this place...this galaxy so cruel and unforgiving. She would never forget the emptiness. Two golden eyes dull and lacking the light that once shined so brightly within them... as empty as the room she sat in. The apple failed to fall far from the tree. Like her mother and father, the dragoness deserted her children, leaving behind a, now, deceased child...her child. Her babies were treated like toys in someone elses childish game...all knocked over in the wake of conquest gone sour. No saccharine goodbye accompanied the Cobra’s absence, and no venomous reply rose in response to Cinders unheeded cries. No one helped her when she needed it the most...and because of the incompetence of those around her she was now a Re'vak...disgraced mother. The worst thing to be to her kind...a bad omen.

While most would feel shame and anguish...Cinder felt only fury.

Red, she saw red; not the red of the high dragon, but a shade inspired by vehement rage. It crawled from the corners and swam incessantly in her pupils. It chased her; it was closing in on her. She could feel the rage swelling in her chest as she stood beside the coffins of her offspring. Delicate fingers tracing over their intricate designs as she wondered how cold they were...their eyes had once burned with the heat of a thousand suns and now...their eyes were could and lifeless. Their flames were gone...snuffed out like smoldering embers.

There was no worse disgrace...they had been defiled. They had been shamed...and it hurt her so much that she didn't even know how to express it. Her tail whipped behind her as her golden eyes slowly lowered...looking over her shoulder at the amber egg which remained nestled in the pit of a fire which kept the room warm.

Within that egg was her last chance at motherhood...her last chance at redemption.

And god help the poor souls that dare get in the way of that.

Once the pair had reached the designated room, Hazel frowned at the lack of other people around.

"Uh, shouldn't there be some guards around? You know, just in case?"

Elijah chuckled, a mix of humor and apprehension.

"There's no need. She's basically a mother hen right now, anyone dumb enough to just go barging in is liable to just get roasted."

"And um, we're suppose to go in there? What's going to protect us?"

"Luck?"

The look Hazel gave him did not relay any confidence such a thing would be any use. Elijah just shrugged and knocked on the door.

"What, why are you knocking?"

Elijah went to speak, but realised he didn't really have a good answer to the question. It wasn't as if Cinder was just going to come up and open it. I guess I could try and speak through the door...

Nope, that sounded equally as dumb.

With a sigh, mutely praying he didn't get incinerated on the spot, he slowly opened the door. It was just enough so that he could poke his head through the gap, revealing his face to the woman. He had hoped he was a familiar enough face; having been there when she and her people had first arrived, that she wouldn't outright attack him with fire.

"Hello, it's Elijah. I brought a doctor to check you out." He knew the words would likely mean nothing to her, Elijah hoped that translator droid was still with her.

"Medically speaking!" Hazel chimed in from behind Elijah.

[member="Cinder Rose"]

Cinder stared into the open flames of the fireplace as she ventured closer...her golden gaze focused intently on the egg that rested within the fire as her long serpent-like tail slowly moved around to her front...sticking the spiked tip into the fire to rustle the burning wood and keep the egg nice and warm...

Warm...she remembered the warmth of her homeworld. So close to the sun which had cooked its surface. Burning stone and boiling waters...it was perfect...it was home. And with the memories of her home coming to her it became painfully apparent that her newborn would not be able to witness it as she had...as her firstborns had. No her newborn...when it hatched would hatch cold. It would not feel the warmth of the sun as she had and the very idea of her unborn child being exposed to such elements fueled the woman with sadness.

She had nowhere to mother her newborn...she could always just do it here but it would not do. Drava hatchlings tended to be rather...destructive and this place did not seem very fireproof...

A deep sigh escaped her coal lips as she inhaled the fumes from the fire...

And when a sudden knock sounded behind the woman Cinder slowly looked over her shoulder at the large wooden door across the room. Her golden eyes simply narrowed suspiciously before hearing a mans voice on the other side. The door then opened, revealing the mans face whom she still could not really recognize considering her species had horrible long range eyesight. She squinted at the little blur of a man and growled lowly before suddenly the translator droid hovered beside her.

"Vin tut, shchob dopomohty. Vin prynis do likarya." The little metal orb would utter to her, making Cinders eyes suddenly go wide before looking at the droid and nodding.

"Dobre. Vin mozhe pryyty v." She would reply calmly. The Droid looking back to Eli and floating over to the door.

"She is ready for you...please come in, make yourselves comfortable." The droid would tell them, floating back over to Cinders side. The red haired woman crossing her arms over her chest and watching the door as she waited for them to enter.

[member="Elijah Henson"]

Elijah waited, apprehension sinking in as he prepared to move his arse out of there. He let out a short sigh of relief when he saw Cinder's little translator droid suddenly appear by her side.

"What is it, what's going on?"

"It's just her translator, meaning this whole situation just became a lot easier."

"Oh, oh! Is that her language?" Hazel's enthusiasm rose to the surface as she just about caught some of conversation between the woman and her droid.

Elijah said nothing, he just waited on the room's threshold until the translator spoke in Basic again. With a curt nor he pushed the door open fully and walked in, Hazel followed; rather hurriedly in fact.

"Hi! I'm Hazel, I'm the doctor that'll be checking you o-be examining you." Hazel stuttered over her words trying to correct them. Her cheeks immediately glowed slightly red.

Elijah let out an amused snort, as he moved to one of the room's walls and gently deposisted the bag full of equipment against it.

"I-uh, it's a pleasure to meet you..."

"Cinder."

"Cinder." She finished, bowing her head slightly. As she waited for the droid to translate, Hazel finally began to take in certain features of Cinder's. Horns, tail...yep the rumors were true apparently. Though I wouldn't say she was a devil.

Hazel's thoughts drifted off as she began to take in Cinder's form in general. Almost immediately her already reddened cheeks shifted several shades redder. A stark contrast to her green skin.

Elijah, having just turned around saw this, mentally facepalmed. Oh christ, she's as bad as Samuel.

[member="Cinder Rose"]

Cinders bright golden optics remained focused on the pair as they entered the room and shut the door behind them. It took a while for the dragoness to be able to really make out their faces but as they got closer and closer she found herself able to make them out a bit easier. Primarily the green skinned woman whom seemed to be Eli's companion...she must of been the healer the droid spoke of. And as the two began to speak Cinder merely frowned as she could not understand anything they were saying...although the green woman gave a slight bow, making Cinder feel more comfortable as her body language appeared to be more submissive than the male beside her.

The droid floated beside Cinder and began to translate to her what was being said.

"Yiyi zvutʹ Kheyzel ... vona hovorytʹ pryvit." The droid told the reptillian woman, making her gasp and nod calmly as she looked back at the green skinned woman and smiled.

"Pryvit! Tse pryyemno zustritysya z vamy i ... yoho." She replied, extending her hand and allowing it to caress the doctors cheek as she attempted to get a good feel for her facial structure...slowly the red haired maiden leaned in close, his long prehensile tongue extending from her lips as if lingered and dance mere inches away from the womans lips.

"Cinder says it is nice to meet you as well...also, do not mind the tongue...she is using it to figure out your chemical makeup. Her species has horrible eyesight and their tongues allow them to pick up scents...like a snake of sorts." The droid explained calmly. Once Cinder felt comfortable knowing what she needed her tongue slid back into her mouth as she pulled herself away, her eyes wandering up to the hovering droid as she reached up and grabbed it by its antennas. Pulling it down into her arms and clutching it tightly as she held it almost like a mother would its child...with the egg being warmed, it felt immensely awkward not having it within her arms...thus holding the droid was the most comfortable she felt as it filled the void.

The red haired woman glanced over at Eli for a moment then back at Hazel, waiting for them to say or do something else.

[member="Elijah Henson"]

Hazel's eyes went wide as Cinder's hand reached out and rested against her cheek. Her mind began to run a mile a minute, and her body was frozen. That and she felt her cheeks heat up from how hard she was blushing. Or was Cinder generating that heat?

Either way Hazel's entire medical-hell her entire education in science suddenly went out the window, when she saw the woman's long tongue appear and get uncomfortably close. It wasn't until the droid finally spoke that she seemed to gradually come back to reality.

"Yes right...makes sense. She certainly seems to have several features common with reptilians. So yes...makes sense."

She seemed to still be in a daze until Elijah coughed roughly, finally snapping her out of it.

"You doing okay Doc?" He asked, an amused smirk on his face.

"Y-yes I'm perfectly fine!" Hazel's voice came out as a squeak near the end.

"Well, shall we get to the matter hand then? Examining Cinder here?" He motioned to her bag.

"Right yes! Elijah if you could, uh unpack while I explain things?" Elijah just nodded and did as instructed. There wasn't a whole lot Hazel needed, the majority of the what was in the bag was just additional stuff she thought she might need. With him busy with that, Hazel turned her attention back to her patient.

"Anyway, Cinder. What I'm going to do be doing is a general scan of your body to check your health, see if there's any issues."

[member="Cinder Rose"]

The red haired woman noticed the seemingly awkward air around the girl as she simply stared at Cinder with an awestruck expression. Cinder glanced over at Eli when he called the woman and snapped her out of whatever trance she appeared to be in. Unable tor really understand just what they were saying she merely stood there quietly as they talked. And when Hazel turned her attention back to Cinder and begun to explain things her golden eyes wandered downward to the droid in her arms.

"Vona skazala, shcho vona vyvchytʹ svoye tilo...y pereviryty dlya zakhvoryuvannya." The droid explained, making Cinder look back up at the blonde woman and nod. Letting go of the droid and moving her hands up to her shoulders, sliding off the fabric of the cloak slowly.

"Nu, meni potribno rozdyahnutysya?" She asked curiously, looking at both Eli and Hazel before going any further. The droid quickly making translation.

"O-oh uh. She asked if she needs to disrobe?" The translator asked, looking back to Cinder who seemed to be waiting for directions on what exactly needed to be done.

Having unpacked what Hazel needed, Elijah had returned to his position leaning against the wall. He watched silently, finally realising that Cinder was holding the droid. Wait, where's her egg?

A quick look around the room later and he saw the egg was resting within the fireplace. He said nothing, just remained quiet watching everything unfold before him. Elijah looked over at the Doctor just in time to catch her expression. Well if there's anything to take away from this, it's been amusing.

Hazel on the other hand looked like a deer caught in the headlights, her eyes were wide as she watched Cinder remove her cloak. The droid's words registered in her ears; both conscious and subconsciously. Though both were in opposition to one another.

Yes

"N-no no no! That's fine, no need to disrobe, I have a sc-scanner device that can work through clothing."

Not as though you have that much clothing on anyway...

Hazel didn't voice her thoughts, but her eyes did linger on Cinder before she seemed to suddenly realise, and quickly moved over to where Elijah had taken out her equipment. With her back to Cinder, Hazel bent down and began riffling through her stuff searching for the scanner.

If anything her condition left her in a state of restless anticipation. Whether it was due to the time of her motherhood drawing near or the simple fact that the carefree way she bound through the empty space of a room was no longer an available avenue to release her energy and stress was unknown to her. All that she could confirm was the simple fact that the state her body was in was no longer the appealing new 'thing' it had once been. Much like a present that had grown old and boring she found herself wishing the extra mass that weighed her down away or nonexistent.

Was she calling herself fat?

Probably...she had only laid her egg a few weeks ago and thus she may of tacked on a few spare pounds...though she'd doubt any of the creatures around her would notice. But to a Drava their bodies were designed for war...not being in the fittest condition was...nerve wracking. It was not in her nature to regret her actions, but perhaps she should have prepared herself a little more for the upcoming months of agitating pregnancy. She felt as swollen as a massive house and twice as large as the biggest creature she had ever taken down in her existence even though she looked rather healthy to the prying eyes of humans. Despite all this, however, she never allowed whatever negative emotion she felt at the freeloading life within her egg cramping her style. All who approached her with kindness were met with that trademark smile, the one that seemed unchanging and yet held variation depending on the type of mood she seemed to be in. The same smile she wore as the doctor before her seemed to panic her response to the question at hand...the red haired woman looked to the droid for translation.

"Vona kazhe, shcho nemaye." The droid uttered in what seemed like a whisper. Cinder simply nodded and re-adjusted the cloak back along her shoulders. Watching as he doctor went to her bags and began to fish into them for whatever device she needed in order to proceed.

Cinder averted her gaze over to Eli and spoke directly to him.

"Tak yak zhe vy?" She asked, the droid also looking to Eli and translating.

"She asked 'how are you?'." The droid asked him on the red haired womans behalf.

[member="Elijah Henson"]

"I'm fine." Elijah shrugged as he looked over at Cinder and her droid. A minute later Hazel had finally found the scanner she was looking for.

"Ah there it is, now Cinder." She began, turning around to face the woman in question. "If you could perhaps lay down, it would be much easier to scan you."

Hazel began to look around the room for a bed, table or something. At one point her gaze wandered over the corner of the room; where the two coffins were. She squinted slightly, then reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a pair of glasses. Though even slipping those on still made it difficult, so she stepped towards them a bit. It was all it took for it to suddenly begin to click in her head.

Her eyes darted over to Elijah, who just gave a simple curt nod in response, confirming her thoughts. Hazel's previous mood suddenly shifted, a sad look on her face as she gazed at the coffins then over to Cinder. A sympathetic look in her eyes. Guilt had begun to well up too. Kark, and I had practically been ogling her not minutes ago...

She opened her mouth to speak, but found it incredibly dry. She gulped slightly, trying to find some words; any to say. "Or standing will be fine, your choice."

All in all, Hazel felt like hitting herself over the head right now.

The droid beside her redirected itself to face Cinder after Eli replied, translating the brief response which made the woman narrow her eyes a bit before glancing back at the green skinned woman. Deciding to just leave it at that since it became apparent the man was not very interested in having a conversation...probably for the best though, it seemed the doctor had her hands full already without a distracted patient. And when the woman asked her to lie down Cinder looked back to the droid for translation. Not really noticing the womans gaze being drawn towards the coffins in the far corner of the room.

"Vona kazhe, shcho tse bulo b prostishe, yakby vy lezhaly." The droid explained. Cinder looked over at the couch near the fireplace and figured that would be the only place she could lie down. But before she could even move the green eyed woman took a step towards the dark side of the room which had triggered a territorial instinct within the dragonesses mind...his tail had poised itself up above her head with the barbed tip aimed downward at the doctor as her golden eyes flared with color...

But after mere moments Cinder was able to catch a glimpse of the girls expression which consisted of...sadness...sympathy. Cinders own expression softened when she realized the doctor did not have ill will and slowly her tail lowered itself back to the floor. Lowering her eyes a bit and heading back over to the couch she crawled onto it and laid herself down on her back. Resting her hands on her belly and taking a deep breath, looking over into the fire where her egg rested and shifting her tail to dive into the flames...rustling the wood around and nudging the egg a bit to flip it over onto the other side.

[member="Elijah Henson"]

The moment Elijah saw Cinder's tail shift; poised to strike, he was immediately ready to act if she actually went for the blow. It didn't really register that he might very well not be quick enough, especially given the fact Hazel seemed oblivious to the fact.

Rather by the time Hazel had fully turned her attention back to Cinder, she had already lowered the tail and made her way towards the couch. With a bit more hesistance in her stride, Hazel walked over to Cinder.

"So, um. I'm just going to move this scanner up and down your body. It'll be taking several readings, and pick up any abnormalities or issues if there are any."

She began busying herself with the scanner. Reacing into her coat pocket, she pulled out her datapad and began fiddlnig with the two devices, pairing them together.

As she did this, Hazel occassionally glanced over to what Cinder was doing, finally noticing the egg resting in the fire. Oh right yes, she does have an egg-a newborn. I should probably try and scan it too...

Though she wasn't entirely sure the dragon lady laying before her would even let her close.

"So, are you comfortable? Ready for me to start?"

[member="Cinder Rose"]

The Dragoness remained still as she laid calmly on the couch. Her golden eyes wandering over the fire beside her for a long moment before withdrawing her tail, allowing the doctor to move back and forth without having to hop over and around the appendage. Her mind wandering over just how this whole meeting would end. She initially did not mind being visited by a doctor but the more they proceeded the more she began to wonder if there was perhaps something wrong with her?

The thought bugged her. And as the blonde woman lingered beside her and explained what she was going to do the droid translated quickly. Cinder examined the scanner in her hand for a moment and slowly nodded her head, expressing that she was ready to proceed with the check-up. Her golden gaze flicking over to Eli and then back to the doctor as her expression began to grow nervous.

She did not completely trust them yet...not humans, not anyone who was not a Drava. But in the end she did not have much of a choice and in the end there was nowhere else she could turn to. The woman clutched her wrist and simply watched the doctor quietly, watching for any potential signs of aggression.

[member="Elijah Henson"]

Now that she was much more up close to Cinder, Hazel's thoughts from earlier were attempting to resurface. Her cheeks went red slightly, but she quickly shook it off and straightened herself up a bit. She offered Cinder a reassuring smile, before her expression then shifted into serious doctor mone.

She raised the scanner up with one hand, hovering it over Cinder's head. Hazel glanced to her other hand; where the datapad was, and waited until it let out a small chime confirming it had picked up Cinder on its scanner.

With steady hands, Hazel slowly and gradually brought the scanner down across Cinder's body, stopping at her feet then moving back up to her head. She repeated this a few times, all the while speaking to herself, and so the droid could hear her clearly.

"No broken bones, or internal injuries. Weight seems in line with the expected parameters of someone just post-pregnancy. Hmm, body seems to be preparing for motherhood...and that seems like its perfectly on track."

Hazel stepped away from Cinder, indicating she had finished her scanning. But as she began reading in more detail on her datapad, she frowned.

"Well that's interesting..."

"What is it Doc?" Asked Elijah, finally chiming in after being quiet so long.

"Uh, well the scans picked up that Cinder's skin is well, very resistant to fire."

"I think that's kinda a given, Hazel."

"No, no. I mean I think it might go beyond that?"

"How so?"

"Well aside from fire, it might be have some resistance against energy."

"As in what? Blasters?"

"That, maybe even lightsabers perhaps?"

"What, seriously?"

"I mean its all theory really, there's no easy way of knowing."

"Unless it was tested."

"Yes unless-wait oh no, we are not testing that on her!" Hazel's voice suddenly became defensive as she twirled around to face Elijah, pointing an accusing finger at him.

"Oh, since when did you get so defensive of Cinder here?" He asked with knowing smirk.

"Th-that is not what I mean. This is a Doctor-Patient thing."

"Uh huh." Elijah wasn't convinced.

"Anyway." Hazel's voice snapped quickly as she turned back around to Cinder, and as she looked at the little droid realising that it had probably just translated that whole conversation.

She let out a slightly nervious chuckle as she collected herself, then stepped up to Cinder again.

"I uh, would like to scan your egg if it were possible? There was something else that the scans picked up, but I wanted to first check your child before hand? Only if its okay with you of course."

Hazel gradually began to ramble a bit as the end of her sentence.

[member="Cinder Rose"]

The womans heart was tranquil, softened by its own volition, the deep breathes that swept across her bosom. Each day seemed much like the last, the endless thoughts and memories that poked at her mind like thorns, Such was the ruins of the old ways, tattered and bitter, soothed upon the edges with time. There was a silence, a desolation in her heart, a behemoth creature that hung dormant upon her insides... Here, there was no swash of brilliant hues, no warmth sung by scolding sands. Only the hissing earth, the sting of bladed strings upon her heels in passing.

The dragoness had always been an ominous beauty. From the stern of the great swells of earth, she was the glistening gold wave shimmering across the horizon, buffering winds bringing life to the deep. Slick stone, painted bare by the winds unimpeded. A giant, it fast its dominion into shadow, a ragged heave, spires ebony and red in the light. She was an object of obsession, the fire that burned brighter than any before her.

Gods...what had she become now? She was such a creature of wrath and fury and yet here she was...in desperate need of help from those who could not trust. The situation still irked her and she could not shake the feeling of shame that swelled in her chest. And as the doctor waved the device up and down the womans body Cinder simply closed her eyes and took a deep breath...listening to the two of them banter back and forth in that language she could still not decipher. It was such an odd language...she wondered why almost everyone she came into contact with spoke it, even the ones that were clearly alien from one another. Had she simply missed the memo?

Only time could tell she supposed. And as the droid hovering above her glanced back and forth at the two humans lingering above her it intelligently decided to not translate any of the conversation that had taken place. At least not until the doctor directly spoke to the red haired woman. The droid quickly translated for the doctor.

"Yiy potribno, shchob pereviryty yaytse, shchob perekonatysya, shcho vin zdorovyy." It would utter, making Cinders golden eyes flare dangerously as she glared at both Eli and the blonde doctor as she narrowed her gaze suspiciously.

Ever so slowly she lifted her back from the couch and kept her gaze focused on the two of them as she stood her full height over the woman...walking over to the fireplace as she spoke directly to the droid. Venom in her tone as her tail swayed almost hypnotically with its spiked tip pointed towards the two of them. "Skazhitʹ yim, shcho...yakshcho vony zavdayutʹ shkody moyiy dytyni...YA peretvoryty yikh na popil."

The droid remained silent for a long moment, looking at the doctor for a long while before translating what Cinder had said.

"She says that um...if you hurt her baby...she will turn you into ashes." The droid muttered nervously, hovering away from the dragoness a bit as she bent herself over to reach into the flames of the pit...her fingers wrapping around the large shiny egg as she pulled it from the fire. It's temperature not bothering the woman as she held it in both her hands carefully. The egg itself was an obsidian color with tints of gold and orange, slowly bringing the egg closer to her chest as she ran her fingers over its surface and uttered sweet nothings to the shell. A purr erupted in her chest as she leaned forward and pressed her lips onto its surface. Glancing back at the doctor as she cradled the egg in the nook of her arm, exposing it to let the doctor scan her child.

Even with the significant language barrier between them, neither Elijah or Hazel needed the droid to speak before they knew full well what the intent was behind Cinder's words.

After all, actions tended to speak much louder and clearer than words.

When the droid had finally relayed Cinder's words, it was the final nail in the proverbial coffin for Elijah. He pushed himself off the wall and narrowed his eyes towards the dragon lady. In one swift movement, his hand was behind his back, grabbed his blaster and held it up towards Cinder. He'd be damned if he let anyone threaten someone; the circumstances be damned. But before he could do anything; even blink he felt a sudden sharp pain across his cheek, and his hand was suddenly empty.

"Don't you dare." Hazel's word reached him before he even consciously realised she had placed herself between him and Cinder. Her datapad and scanner forgotten; dropped onto the floor, opting rather to intercept and snatch the weapon from Elijah's hand.

"Doctor..." He growled out, teeth clenched, one hand trying to leviate the stinging on his cheek she had slapped.

"Don't doctor me. You will stand down." Hazel was practically growling at him, a stern look in her eyes. "She's a refugee, taken from her home. Her people in shambles, forced to be slaves. Sold, killed, and god knows what else." Every so often as she spoke; a word here and there, Hazel's tone became harsh until near the end where it simply didn't relent.

"Oh what? Did you really think I wouldn't read up on her notes, what the pilots had told us about her situation?"

Elijah falted slightly.

"And besides all that. She's a mother, protecting her young, after having lost two already."

Those words seemed to finally do it. Elijah narrowed his eyes at her, she knew full well what does words meant to him; what it reminded him of.

"Now go over there and zip it until I'm finished. I'll give you back your blaster once we're done here."

Elijah had the decency to look somewhat ashamed and guilt as he moved away, the the furthest point in the room from Cinder.

With that done, Hazel slipped said weapon into one of her inner coat pockets, then leant down to grab her discarded items. Gods, I hope I didn't drop them too hard.

A quick analysis of both scanner and datapad revealed no damage from the sudden drop.

Hazel sighed, rubbing her temple slightly before turning around to face Cinder.

"I'm sorry about that, truly." Hazel gave the woman an apologetic look, as she slowly and carefully walked up to her. She held up the scanner before the egg, but she looked up at Cinder, silently asking one last time for her permission.

Her nervous gaze continued to drift over the strangers, her instincts corrupting her mind as she began to take in every possible threat around her. Even noticing how large the man who pressed himself on the wall was, but not intimidated for he was no threat to her...just a potential threat to the delicate life that rested within the eggs shell. But she could not outgrow the fear of seeing yet another one of her young perish before her; and it was only now that she noticed…she was growing weaker. Her ferocity had changed. No longer as sharp as it used to be. Perhaps the loss of her sons had made her this way...And it was something else that made her nervous; it was the acceptance of others, or their performance in her eyes that she worried for. It was something that made her incredibly anxious, ever so slightly, since finding the Order.

Still, she tried to calm herself, readjusting her eyes to the doctor as she approached with the scanner. But one could not fail to notice the flutter of her nerves, a horrid anxiety that shook her foundation. She was watching the womans hands so closely that only out of the corner of her eye did she noticed the sharp movement of the man...and as her golden eyes shifted to the side to see what he was doing her slitted pupils dilated when he drew a weapon and pointed it at her...at her child.

Cinders eyes went wide pulling her egg away from the doctor and quickly turning her back to the man in attempts to shield her unborn from potential harm. Her arms clenched around the egg as the womans mind went spiraling...his tail whipping around wildly towards the man as her body began to grow hot. Her flesh almost glowing as suddenly her entire body bursted into flames, powerful enough to send a gust of heat out across the room. Her golden eyes peering at the man with ferocious disdain as she scowled at him through a furrowed brow. Heat seething from her form as the doctor snatched the weapon from his hands and slapped the man across the face. The display made Cinders expression soften ever so lightly as she glanced back at the doctor as she scolded the man. The red haired woman watched the doctor closely as she practically put the man into his place...confiscating his weapon and returning her attention back to the dragoness with nothing but a warm smile...

Everything within the womans mind was telling her to burn everything...burn it all away and retreat once again...but as Hazel extended her hand free of a weapon Cinder simply stared at her for a long while as her body remained ablaze...and slowly the fire that consumed her began to die down...her flesh returning to its normal color as she slowly turned herself around to face the woman. Her eyes flicking back to the man every couple of seconds as she slowly exposed her egg from her arms once again.

She trusted her...more than anyone else at this point. She had stuck up for her and her child without a second thought.

Cinder would not forget that.

Thoughout her scolding of Elijah, Hazel had apparently ignored Cinder's sudden combustion; to a point that she hadn't even registered the gust of heat that had blown across the room. It wasn't until she had turned back around, and had approached Cinder, that it finally sank in.

She stepped back a couple paces, a mix of fear and awe on her face. But she quickly gathered herself and stayed her ground. The emotion in her face slowly dissappeared as Cinder's fire dispersed.

Hazel said nothing, just gave the dragoness a grateful smile then stepped back towards her and began to process of scanning her egg. She made a specific effort that while she wasn't touching the egg, she was still being just as careful.

She was immediately mesmerized by the colors, Hazel's eyes flickered from the egg to Cinder on occasion, recognising the similiar color pattern. A few minutes later, Hazel pulled the scanner away and gave Cinder a nod, indicating everything was okay.

"It's very beautiful." She whispered quietly. With that she stepped back away from Cinder and returned to professional Doctor mode.

"Well Cinder, I can happily say that you have a very healthy child, I could find no complications. But-" She paused briefly to give the droid some time to translate. "When I was scanning you, it picked up something unusual; in your blood to be specific. I'm going to need to take some of it to test, which we can't do here but-"

Elijah chose that moment to interrupt.

"Well then that's good news Doc." Hazel turned her head towards him.

"How is that good news?"

"I was thinking you could be Cinder's permanant doctor for the duration of her stay on Monastery."

Hazel opened her mouth to speak, but was too shocked to formulate any words. She saw that glint in Elijah's eye and she growled lowly to herself.

"Fine, I'd be happy to do it."

"Fantastic, she can stay with you then."

And then he got her again, enough so that she spun around to face him.

"Wh-what do you mean?!"

"Well, at least until you can run the blood test. Just in case there's something wrong, as her Doctor you'll need to be nearest to her twenty-four seven."

Hazel glowered at Elijah knowing the man had trumped her. Straigtening her back up a bit, Hazel turned to Cinder.

"It seems Cinder, that you will be living with me; at my place here in Sanctuary. At least until I can be certain what is wrong with your blood. After that, well I guess you'll be free to leave and live amongst your people here, until a new planet is found."

Hazel bowed her head slightly at the end, sensing the slighest bit of upset in her final words. Why the karking hell am I sad about that?

Honey dipped optics would remain calm and steady as she watched the doctor wave the scanner over Cinders egg...the reptilian woman keeping herself still as her eyes flicked over to the male in the corner every couple of seconds to make sure he did not try yet another stunt like moments ago. Her mind stirring like a pot as she gazed over the thick multi-colored shell of her egg...she wondered to herself if the life stirring within was a boy or perhaps a girl...her mate had always wanted a girl...while she herself wanted sons. But now...Cinder found herself wanting both, but knowing her lover was gone made her feel incredibly anxious...she hoped it was a girl. So that even in death he could have his final wish...Cinder envied him though. She envied the fact he got to go to paradise with their ancestors without having to witness his firstborn children perish at the hands of beast.

He was lucky enough to die in battle as every Drava should...not chained and cowering as a blade slices through their throat or their hearts are pulled from their chest...the savagery in such in act made the woman sick even now. Luckily her thoughts were interrupted when the doctor began to speak to her again, the droid easily translating all that she said so that Cinder could properly understand. Taking her egg and holding it close to her chest as she hugged it tenderly the Dragoness stood her full height and glanced between the two bickering humans before her.

And when Hazel turned back to Cinder and spoke once again the Droid clarified. The news making her eyes go wide as her golden gaze instantly looked to the coffins on the other end of the room. "Ale meni shche potribno, shchob pokhovaty yikh." She mused quietly as her expression turned somber. The Droid looked to Hazel and translated.
"She...says 'what of her departed? She must bury them properly." It said almost coldly. Cinder could not leave her children without giving them a proper burial...
