House of Wolves [Faction Founding: The Shrouded, open to anyone]

Library

Miles reported to the hangar with the rest of the able bodied Dominion remnants. The newly formed Fleet Marines were loaded up in the shuttles to be used in retaking the Library from the local government. Miles had a couple other tricks up his sleeve, he'd requisitioned for a contingent of PAC Ops officers to be dropped off prior to reaching the Library. From there, they'd make their way into the building by any means necessary. Covertly of course.

Escorting the first wave would be a Reaper Squadron, they'd be tasked with the first strike, getting the local militia off their balance so the Marines could land less encumbered.

<<All units, this is Lieutenant Varden. We are here to take back the Library, secure the knowledge within and bug out. We must take and hold the building for as long as it takes to exfil everything. Reaper is running overhead while us grunts get to play soldier. Hooah!>>

A resounding 'hooah' funneled back through the comms in agreement from the men.

As the Shroud forces converged on the Library, the shuttles swung low to drop off the PAC Operatives. Continuing their line, the Militia opened fir with repeaters and some light flak. The road in would be bumpy....

Opposing Forces: Senatorial Guard (Battalion Strength)

Things would not be easy for the newly-formed Shrouded on Lorrd. Unlike the majority of the city below, the library was not held by looters or ragtag bandits, but by the senatorial guard, a well-equipped, professional military force. And they had more than a few aces up their sleeves. One of these was an old AT-AT walker, which had been salvaged from a nearby museum, hastily repaired and put back into service. It now guarded the entrance to the library, its position allowing it to unleash its heavy armament on anything which approached from the avenue that led up to the famous building.

Additionally, the senatorial guards had multiple anti-air emplacements, including two heavy blaster turrets located situated on top of towers which were part of the city's defense grid against invaders. The other six emplacements consisted of mobile flak cannons mounted onto repulsorlift trucks. They were less powerful, but had a high turning rate and higher rate of fire than any static emplacements would.

On the ground, the senatorial guards had several gun emplacements and an armored personnel carrier to add to the AT-AT's firepower and a full battalion of infantry armed with rocket launchers, concussion grenades and blasters, which were deplyed around the compound, many of them in positions which would allow them to ambush any attackers. A trio of armored speeders completed the compound's defenses and could tackle both air and ground targets.

The first to open fire, were the two air defense towers, with their heavy blaster cannons. These had the longest range of the city's defenses, however they were inaccurate against nimble fighters and more suited to take out landing craft and blastboats. However, anything they would hit, would be obliterated. Soon after, the flak guns opened fire and were then joined by shoulder-mounted rocket launchers and blaster rifle shots from infantry units on various rooftops. The anti-air defenses would not be enough to stop the Shrouded troops from landing, but once the units under [member="Miles Varden"]'s command would land, they would have to face the withering firepower from the AT-AT, as well as the crossfire from the three armored speeders, the armored personnel carrier and the infantry with their weapons. The Shrouded would have one advantage, though. The PAC Ops units had managed to infiltrate the outer layer of the defenses without being detected.

    Opposing Forces: Criminal Gangs

The Gamorrean squealed sounds of pain in his piggish voice as the mercenary woman twisted his arm. "Stupid human girl, let go or I'll kill ya!" yelled the mercenary, a foul odor spreading from his mouth as he spoke. As the second human approached, the piggish creature squealed again. "Blast 'er and I'mma' let ya pass free!" offered the creature, in a tone that made it obvious for any but the most stupid individual that he was lying.

At that exact time, a Duros with an escort of Trandoshan and Gamorrean guards, approached the two mercenary leaders. He was obviously the boss of the criminals. "What's going on, here! You idiots, I told you, no one gets free--" yelled the Duros at the Gamorrean, before noticing the two mercenaries and the mixture of landing craft and small transports descending on the city behind them: the rest of the Shrouded mercenary force.

The crime boss' red eyes flicked between the descending ships and the mercenaries on the ground several times, before the realization seemed to finally hit him. "Don't just stand there, you morons!" he yelled in a half-panicked voice. "Blast them! If you ever want to see your share of the loot, I want them all dead" ordered the Duros, running back towards the starport offices as the ragtag band of looters opened fire on the incoming landers with a mixture of shoulder-mounted rocket launchers and blaster rifles, the latter of which would be ineffective against the ships, but the undisciplined bandits did it anyway.

There were over a hundred looters occupying the starport, armed with a wide assortment of weapons, ranging from slugthrowers and blaster pistols and rifles, to rocket launchers and grenades. They were spread out over a wide area, in small groups and huddled for cover behind ships, crates, doorways, or anything which would offer them any shielding from the incoming forces.

One of the more organized groups, consisting of several Trandoshans, rushed up the ramp of a small freighter that was preparing for departure and killed the panicked civilians inside. Moments later, the freighter's laser turret swung around and opened fire on the incoming forces.

The Duros crime boss finally reached the harbormaster's office, as made evident by the fact that he was yelling over the starport's announcement speakers. "Alright, listen up, you laser-brained idiots! This is Zol Trun! Whoever doesn't kill an attacker today, does not get paid! Am I understood?" spoke the voice over the loudspeakers, provoking the already agitated bandits into a frenzy. The threat of not being paid, worked wonders amongst these criminals and they would not put in extra effort into killing their enemies.

"You know full well what I'm do............", she head the click from behind ad the blaster was pointed to her head, "I would lower that gun if I was you, because if you don't a broken arm is going to be on the menu for you". The servos in her legs and other implants were raring to go, if she wanted to said leg would be able to snap out and kick the man in the blink of an eye, but before anyone could act the sound of a very pissed boss came.

SHe noticed the bosses eye flicker between them and the ship, then back to her, scans indicted a very elevated heart rate, "Hello there". She quickly performed a chop to the current pig in her arm lock, before ducking and covering herself with the cape she always wore, the blaster fire being absorbed and bouncing off. "It's show time", throwing the cape in front of her Kiso made a fasts dash up the stairs, grabbing on the the thugs arm and moving it to the side in a hide arc, ramming her knee into his gut and using his body as cover and a stable platform to take aim at another thug. Her blaster fired off a single shot, the round hitting them between the eyes all in one fell motion.

On Transohian thinking he could over power the cyborg swag at her with the butt of their rifle, she ducked under the blow driving a quick elbow into their leg, making them unbalanced before doing a slight turn, standing up, placing her left hand on the back of his skull, and face slamming them into the ground. "Ohhh its been two long since I've had a good fight". The whole space port had devolved into a fire fight between the two forces, just the way she liked it.

Razel's eye turned red instantly as he scanned the environment. Drawing his blade, he would dash forwards - decapitating the Gammorean. He would leap from side to side, brutalizing or killing any opponent he neared. He took a charged blast to the back and grunted, throwing his sword to go directly through the throat of the attacker, "Everyone!" he ordered, "FULL LETHALITY!" Razel leaped at an open-mouthed merc and plunges his blade directly down their throat, killing them almost instantly. No more time for games.

Razel sprints over to grab his blade once again. Leaping at a wall and kicking off, mercenaries opened fire on him as he dodged between the enemies, "Your aim is even sloppier than mine!" Multiple screaming sounds can be heard as Razel stabs, decapitates and generally mutilates the mercenaries. Suddenly, he hears something, "Gedda safety off! He's a karkin' monster!" Razel turns, blade at the ready, to see a blast sent towards him... an ion blast...

Razel has only a split second to react. By now his blade is overcharged, red-hot. He throws it, cutting straight through two mercs like butter. But then he is hit. He plummets down to the ground, unable to hold his weight without cybernetics, "Dah ih!" Without his robotic voice making him understandable, a man with a metal jaw is very difficult to understand... he is unable to move, but content with the damage he did. It was up to the others now.

Kiso turned her head towards [member="Razel Kolt"] as he gave the order for lethality, though in this situation it was a no brainier, she watched as his cybernetics enhancements made mince meat out of the thugs, in some cases literately "Glad I don't have to fight him". She turned her attention back to the fight at hand, bringing her blaster to bear again, shooting one of the rocket launcher armed thief, their body falling to the ground, shooting the missile at the wall, taking out some of his friends as well as creating a rather large hole.

The battle was going fairly heavily in their favor due to the lack of training on the gang member parts as well as proper arms an armor, it would not be too long until the space port fell to them, especially with Kolt on their side, wait were was he. Looking around Kiso noted that the virbo wielding cyborg had suddenly vanished, until her scanner picked him up lying on the floor, his energy fluctuating, 'he must have been hit with an ion blast, id better be cafule'.

Kiso ran over to were Kolt was lying, the gang members starting to fall back to the inner parts of the space port, giving her room to maneuver without need to watch out for hostiles. "You alright, actually never mind I can see your mouth is not functioning properly", she rapped his arm around her shoulder, lifting him up, "Kark your heavy", slowly she made her way down to one of the drop ship, moving in between soldiers and mercenary's, placing him down in an upright condition. "Lets see how to get you back up and running, hmmmm".

Her bionics scanned his unit, identifying the energy cells her used and were to place them, carefully but quickly she removed the short circuited one and replaced them with fresh units, "I'm not sure how your cybernetics work, but I hope that was right".

    Opposing Forces: Criminal Gangs

The battle at the starport was going poorly for the criminal gangs. They were falling apart under the attack of the organized mercenaries, some of which had begun to deploy heavier weapons. An armored personnel carrier rolled into the entrance, unleashing fire from its blaster turret against the assortment of thugs, the bolts biting chunks of the wall behind which they took cover, shredding them with ease.

The Duros gang leader addressed his people again, via the starport's announcement speakers. "You morons seem to be needing some extra motivation! Take out that APC and kill the other mercenaries, or I will blast you, myself! I want their corpses out of my spaceport, yesterday!"

The gang leader's threats seem to galvanize the other looters, somewhat. The Trandoshans who had earlier seized the freighter, turned its turrets to bear on the APC and a group of encroaching mercenaries. The APC's gunner reacted too slowly to the threat and as a result, the vehicle exploded, wreaking havoc at the entrance. The captured freighter then turned its turret against Kiso and her group, laying down heavy covering fire while a mixed group of Gamorreans, Trandoshans and Duros gathered to storm their position, some of them already lobbing concussion grenades at the enemy positions.

"That's it!" spoke the annoying voice over the speaker, again. "Now kill'em all!"

The situation quickly escalated as the leader of the gang appeared in the area. Almost immediately, the area was overrun by the thugs. Taking cover, Kyle saw another cyborg enter the playing field. The man rushed around so fast, Kyle had a hard time tracking him, but he was soon knocked down by an ion blast. The shrouded officer carried him to safety as yet more warriors from each side flooded the battle field. An APC rolled in but was instantly vaporized by the enemy freighters cannons. It was now or never. Kyle could either help the republic and stand for what is right, or he could run away from all the death around him like a coward. He took a deep breath and spoke into the intercom. "Rinzler-Zetta, send a light cruiser into the spaceport. Bombard the local thugs, cover the mercenaries. The time has come to pick a side."

Shrapnel went flying as the APC exploded, Kiso covering herself and Kolt with her cape as the fire ball and other parts came towards them, "Ohhh they are soo dead, think you can take out that freighter?". Drawing her vibro saber Kiso launched back towards the front, leading the charge like a ye old officer, "Don't show any mercy to this scum, kill them all".

She raced up the stares with surprising speed, the thugs quickly trying to shoot her only to have their arms cut off with one fell swoop of her blade. To the right was another, which went to slammed his own sword into her back, only for Kiso to move forward a bit, the blade skimming across her cape again.

Before her opponent could react her elbow went flying into his face, knocking him out for good, "Keep pushing, we've almost got them, get their leader and the rest will be easy picking". Using her scanner she plotted the position of the gang leader, pointing in the direction of said individual and leading some mercenaries in the process.

Unknown to the group [member="tsarwars"] had called in a bombing run on the space port, a silly idea considering the face they needed it to get people off world, and the civilians and friendly's currently in the building.

Razel spent a moment to recover. He nodded at Kiso in thanks when he saw what came next. Instantly, he flung back into action, leaping forward and grabbing his blade as he continues his previous attack. While randomly striking he would scan the battlefield - searching for a more tactical method of attack. After a short while he saw Kiso's idea and decided the best plan here would be to assist. And so that he did.

Razel leaped at another enemy and slashed at them as he glanced back to Kiso. Sure enough, she was moving through. Razel leaped over and took out a thug trying to figure out how to load his missile launcher, "Get to the leader, I'll cover you on this end!" He looked behind to a man with a vibrosword. Razel took the moment as an opportunity, kicking backwards and launching the thug a fair distance. Before it went too far, Razel grabbed the other vibrosword, switching to a dual wielding style, "Let's go."

He continuously dashed between opponents, trying to keep as many as possible away from Kiso and the group. The idea of going for the leader was solid. Take out the one giving the orders and the rest have no direction. Like a karked up game of follow the leader. Razel shook his head, regaining his focus. "Alright," he spoke, "Let's push!"

    Opposing Forces: Criminal Gangs

The struggle to secure the Starport was brutal for both sides. The assortment of criminals which had taken over this point of strategic value, was dieing in droves, but giving almost as good as it got. The multitude of thugs and gangsters fought like cornered rats, mainly because they were, but also because their leader had promised rewards for victory and threatened death in case of failure.

It took Zol Trun a moment to realize that an armed party had located him and was mounting an assault on his position, but he reacted swiftly, by yelling into the Starport's loudspeaker system again. "You laserbrained morons! Can't you see I'm being attacked here? Get to my location, immediately and kill these intruders!"

The Duros gang boss was in the Starport's command center, armed with a blaster pistol and surrounded by four Gamorrean bodyguards who wielded blaster rifles and crude, but deadly axes. Realizing that there is no other way out, the criminals barricaded the door and awaited the enemy assault, hoping that the gangsters outside would manage to kill the attackers before they got to the command room.

Kiso took cover behind a wall as a machine gun emplacement opened fire on her and the accompanying, mercenaries, the Thugs fighting with tooth and nail as the pushed deeper into the space port. "Kark, man down", she covered the mercenary with her cloak and dragged him back around the corner, "Get him to the back, now... no more miss nice girl any more". Looking around she spotted a still functioning rocket launcher that the thugs were using, her favorite weapon, "I need one of you to throw a grenade at the emplacement, don't worry if you miss, I just need them distracted for a moment".

One of the mercenaries nodded and leapt out of cover, throwing the detonator short before diving out of the line of fire, the resulting explosion shook dust and other pieces of rubble from the ceiling, creating a short but concealable enough screen for Kiso. Taking the chance she rolled into the hall way her scanner taking perfect aim at the machine gun emplacement, "Say good night". The missile launched towards the emplacement, demolishing the defenders and barricade, now it was just the door to the bosses room.

"Where almost there just a bit more to go, Kolt, how are things going up your end"

[member="Razel Kolt"] l [member="tsarwars"] l [member="STRATCOM"]

Razel threw the blade he got from his opponent. It destroyed one of the thug's weapons, slicing it in half. Razel left them disarmed, running around and trying to get weapons off of others, "I'm living. But now seems a decent time to join you." He dashed towards them, cutting down foes in his way. They were close now, just one last good push was needed. Razel took a position near the front of the squad.

"Kiso, lead the way. If we keep as a group and keep our strategy down, they can't do much."
Razel would continue keeping the thugs from coming, now hurling rubble with his free hand, but staying where he was in the group. They were going to get this man, and therefore get everyone an exit from the planet. If they just kept pushing forward and kept their strategy... the enemy wouldn't stand a chance. Atleast, that's what Razel figured.

  • Planetary Capital, Lorrd
    Former Dominion Space

All that remained of the bandits which had taken over the spaceport, was their boss and a handful of guards, many of whom were now throwing down their weapons in surrender, begging and hoping that their lives would be spared. Enraged, the bandit leader shot several of his own guards and threatened to kill anyone who 'deserted', as he put it, but all that stood between the attacking force and him, was a thin door which would crumble at any assault. This was the end and there was no way out.

With the starport mostly secured, the main force of what had begun to call itself the Shrouded Republic, began to land, bringing several thousand troops down into the city, which began to march out of their transports in ordered columns, assembling for a military parade.

This was a show of force meant to reassure the civilian population and legitimize Kainan Wolfe as the nation's new leader in the eyes of the people. Of course, several agents had arrived quietly in the last few days and they had infiltrated the local bars, spreading rumors which were now beginning to pay off.

As the columns of soldiers and military vehicles began their march towards the Library compound, a crowd began to assemble, which steadily grew as the city flooded the streets to celebrate the arrival of the relief force. Marching to the Library in parade style, showed the people that there was a functioning government in place, a well as an actual military and this did wonders for their morale.

As the parade approached the Library compound, the crowd began to cheer and chant Kainan Wolfe's name, spurned on by agitators strategically hidden amongst the masses, causing the Senatorial Guards to cease fire and hesitate, not knowing how to respond. The remaining senators kept shouting via comms at them to open fire, but they were facing what looked like the legitimate head of state, which had the backing of the people. In the end, they laid down their arms and Wolfe's forces occupied the Library compound.

Wolfe himself led the military formation into the building, marching in like the conquering hero, his posture imposing and commanding obedience. He was confronted by Orren Jamus, the leader of the rebellious senators who would oppose his attempt at rebuilding the nation and would rather sell the remaining assets to the highest bidder, in exchange for personal gain and protection. "What is the meaning of this?" shouted the senator, clearly outraged. "I am a legitimate senator, I have the support of the Senate and I order you to surrender immediately! You have no legitimacy here!"

The warlord narrowed his eyes, unimpressed by the senator's display. Lifting an arm to wave towards the military formation and the cheering crowd which waited outside the compound, he spoke in a cold, harsh tone. "I have the support of the people, Senator. You, on the other hand, are nothing but a coward plotting acts of treason against this nation. Guards, arrest this man and his cronies. Have them thrown into the brig of one of our ships, to await trial by their peers, in accordance to the law," he ordered. The soldiers jumped to comply, leaving the senator speechless as he was handcuffed and dragged away.

Out in the city, the military had commenced its relief effort, distributing supplies and beginning to organize the evacuation of the planet. Looking to consolidate his position, Wolfe announced a snap election, which would take place immediately after the evacuation was complete and polls conducted by the reestablished press, predicted a sweeping victory for him. The survival of the Shrouded Republic was, for now, assured, as was Wolfe's position. It was now time to look to the future. And to the stars.

Th battle was won at the space port, all that was needed was the end of the boss of said rebels, who seemed very intent on getting himself kill, along with his subordinates. Kiso slowly approached the door, loading another round into the missile launcher, just a few guards on the other side of the door from her HUD, which soon vanished form view, accompanied by several blaster shots, 'shooting his own men, no surrender'.

She tilted her head towards the mercenaries behind her, "Advanced fire line men, keep your weapons trained on that door at all times". The other mercs followed her lead, kneeling in front and taking up positions to the side of her, readying their weapons for the un-ceremonial breaching. Kiso too aim at the door, the missile blowing air down the hall way as it shoot froward, careening at the defensive door, the tipped head pushing through the thin barrier before exploding, smoke and dust going every where, "Open fire"!

At her command the mercenaries pored fire into the hole left by the missile before slowly advancing, cheaking the corners and any hiding spots as they entered the room. All the while reports flooded in though her communication arrays, the had won the planet over, not they just had to get everyone off and into the fleet.
