OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To sub the private residence of the Hoole family for use in RPs.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Mammon Hoole | "Spirit of Adoption"
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: House of Hoole; Hoole Family Residence; Gav'rin Hoole (in Shi'idese)
  • Classification: Homestead
  • Location: Outskirts of Goshen, Lao-mon
  • Affiliation: The Hoole Family
  • Accessibility: A two hour speeder drive from the Goshen spaceport, the house is located in a mountainous area of the dense jungles of the planet, close to the ocean. It is "out of the way" without being totally in the midst of the wilderness. Getting there would be fairly easy, although it is advised travelers don't stray from available roads and pathways in an attempt to shortcut, as this can increase the likelihood of being attacked by one of the planet's large native predators.
  • Description: Consisting of three floors, the house's architecture is designed to look like it is part of the natural landscape. The section of the building that projects out from the mountain touches the ground with only two support pillars to avoid disturbing the forest floor as much as possible. The three decks on each floor are also shaped in such a way to respect the existing plantlife and structure of the area.

SECURITY
Medium

It has an alarm system and kinetic shields that can be activated over the windows/doors, but that's about it. The shields and alarm system are primarily meant to keep wild animals out.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
After Tash and Zak Arranda went off to college, a very tired Mammon Hoole retired to Lao-mon in order to compile his notes into what would become The Essential Guide to Alien Species. The publication of his research made him very famous and wealthy, enough that he could live comfortably wherever he chose. Having had more than enough adventure for ten lifetimes, he decided to settle down once and for all and commissioned the building of this house for himself and his family. Given his learned respect for nature (a rather dark lesson gained from his role in the destruction of Kiva), Mammon specifically requested that the house be built in such a way that it would not disturb the landscape and native wildlife. The unusual inverted structure of the house was the result the architects came up with.

Eight hundred years later, two of Mammon's descendants, his grandson Tammuz Hoole and his wife Lilith, continue to live there. The couple's eight children all grew up in this home, as did Tammuz himself and his father before him. The place holds many fond memories for those who have stayed there.
