HISTORICAL INFORMATION
House Gale was not always a noble house of Alderaan. Their humble beginnings start with Teven Gale, an Alderaanian refugee who worked closely with Princess Leia Organa in the aftermath of the Empire's fall. It was through his and Leia's work that the wreckage of the Death Star came into possession of Alderaan and the Ascension was born. For his service to his people, and as a way to rebuild the lost noble houses, Teven was given his own house. He and his family would oversee the construction of the Ascension and resettling of the new station-habitat. Even after the establishment of New Alderaan House Gale remained, providing safety and leadership in the Alderaanian sector.
Once survivors of the old houses began to pop up, the scions of those old houses would begin to look down on the Gales as upstarts and usurpers. Their distance from New Alderaan also created a deeper wedge between Gale and the Old Houses. Despite the animosity, House Gale remained steadfast. When the project to terraform new worlds in the Triumvirate came to fruition, House Gale and the Ascension jumped at the chance to re-seed their homeworld with near extinct specimens of plants and animals that had been brought to the station.
In modern times, House Gale remains a piriyah in House politics. They still called the space station home despite Alderaan being reborn. They held some small holdings on the world, but most of the Ascension was theirs. Their protective nature has also led many of them to join the Alderaanian Knights and the Alderaanian Defense Forces.

- Description: House Gale was a "New House" of Alderaan which could trace its lineage back to Teven Gale, one of the commoners who had established a New Alderaanian Council after The Disaster. Despite its title as a Greater House, it was rather small compared to the Old Greater Houses. Most New Greater Houses were small simply due to the fact that they were required to share the space of a massive space station along with their vassals and branch families etc. rather than an entire planet. Despite that, House Gale remained influential in Alderaanian politics because of their connection to The Ascension. As Stewards of the Ascension, it was House Gale's duty to maintain and defend the station. They held a sizeable fleet and maintained a strong connection to the Alderaanian Royal Fleet with many of the Gale line entering service and taking pivotal roles in the fleet. Though they began their careers as traders and negotiators, House Gale has evolved into a militaristic house, a far cry from many of the other Greater Houses, especially the Old Houses. They are dedicated to never seeing Alderaan destroyed again.
- Headquarters: The Ascension
- Domain: They hold minor claims of land on the surface of Alderaan but most of House Gale's holdings are on the Ascension itself. They also have a strong connection with the Spilursian people and have timeshares on the world as well as across the Galaxy.
- Notable Assets:
- Hierarchy: The Patriarch or Matriarch is the head of the House and they are chosen by the previous head. Usually hereditary and given to the first born child regardless of sex. From there the family is diluted into several dozen branch families with varying degrees of influence depending on how closely related to the main branch they were. Below them were adopted families, families with no blood relation to the main branch, and then vassals - families that swore fealty to House Gale in order to gain their support or protection.
- Membership:
- Several hundred individuals dispersed through main and branch families
- Less than a dozen adopted families
- Several dozen vassal families
- Tens of thousands of Alderaanians and immigrants that work for the above groups
- Climate: The House over the centuries has become very "Noble"-like. They are proper and follow the etiquette of the other Greater Houses. However, they also understand loss and what it takes to build up from the bottom. Hard work is in their blood, compassion is in their blood. They refounded Chianar, a refugee settlement and have been at the forefront of immigration politics speaking on behalf of disenfranchised or struggling immigrants to the Alderaan system. They are also one of Alderaan's few militaristic houses and believe that a blanket policy of pacifism is foolish. They are seen as bleeding hearts when it comes to social issues but cold when it came to the defense of their world which some Houses find as contradictory.
- Reputation: Their name will forever be in the Alderaanian histories as one of the Greater Houses to help get Alderaan back on her feet. That is sure. However, through a more contemporary lens they are seen as troublesome upstarts who are too attached to a violent past. Their reputation was tarnished several decades ago when the Patriarch's daughter eloped with a rogue Jedi Knight only for the pair to return with a child born out of wedlock. Though the Jedi was forced to leave the Jedi Order and marry into the family, he has been a stain on their reputation ever since.
- Curios: [ Do the members of your group have any special item, marking or trinket that designates their membership? Something that only those part of this group would have access to or possession of? Examples are tattoos, amulets, rings, books of faith, etc. ]
- Rules: Defend Alderaan and its People.
- Goals: The prosperity of Alderaan and House Gale.
