STRENGTHS
  • Can't Touch This: The Caria is an extremely fast craft, even amongst other high speed interceptor craft, capable of out-speeding the propulsion systems of virtually any accelerant based projectile, re-rockets and missiles. These ships were made to be rocket and missile hunters and counter interceptors, affording them the ability to chase down high speeding projectiles and ships in sub-light speeds and harass or eradicate them with extreme prejudice. These ships have a small profile and are capable of turning on a dime as well as accelerating to combat speed in a matter of heartbeats. They are not for the feint of heart, but are damned hard to mark with conventional weapons.
  • All Seeing Eye: The targeting system on the Caria is nothing short of Phenominal, its capable of simultaneously identifying hostile objects, locking onto multiple targets at once, analyzing speeds and trajectories and calculating as well as executing interception firing patterns with its rotating bubble turrets capable of engaging those high speed targets with wondrous efficiency.
  • Rotating Cannons: The primary cannons on the Caria are two, top mounted gun ports on small rotating bubbles deployable on the wings, capable of rotating 360 degrees on their X axis and 95 degrees on their Y axis giving them a fantastic range of fire. They're capable of shooting off foreign invaders mounting the ship and swiveling at incredible speeds thanks to their maglift rails. These guns are surgically accurate, able to intercept fast moving craft during maneuvers and even clusters of rockets or missiles with eerie accuracy. The Thoth system equipped at the rear of the ship to defend against oncoming missile attacks is capable of rotating 90 degrees to afford some 'bombardment' ability.
  • One Hit Wonder: The CROSS shield system integrated into the ship gives the Caria the ability to survive a single shot of strengths significantly beyond what a shot from weapons which should otherwise annihilate it outright. The CROSS shield is made to take a singular high impact from weapons such as mass drivers or turbo-lasers, allowing the Caria to survive... mostly.
  • Chaff Emitter: The Caria comes equipped with a signature Jamming signal its able to emit capable of drowning out the control systems of most guided missiles and other fighter crafts short wave communications and targeting computers causing targeting computers to lose control of them and the ships around them. However, these systems have a limited range of about 100m.
WEAKNESSES
  • Thin Skinned: The Caria has very little in the way of armour plating, almost all of its materials are used in its construction are to enable its ability to fly at incredibly high speeds, using the more flexable Titanium 6 and Titanium Ultrachrome alloys in order to compose the outer shell of the craft. Titanium 5 interior supports make the Caria lightweight, but incredibly vulnerable to kinetic impacts.
  • Harassing Strikes: The Weapons of the Caria are made to shoot down other lightly shielded fast moving craft, and are largely ineffective against anything larger than a small craft unless it has specific vulnerabilities they can exploit.
  • G Forces: This ship is incapable of performing at full speed in the atmosphere of a planet or within a gravity well. The friction causes the ship to shake, doing damage to its more sensitive systems. Not to mention that with its ability to fly at supersonic speeds, the pilot behind the wheel even with the Carias inertia dampeners would face severe health risks.
  • No Hyper-drive: The Caria does not come equipped with its own hyper-drive, and requires an external hyper-drive ring.
  • Short Range: This ship does not have components for long distance travel or operation. And could fly for little more than a day with its power and fuel reserves. Engaging in combat reduces these reserves significantly.
DESCRIPTION
"Welcome to speed."

The HA.9 Caria is one of few true counter interceptor craft in the Galaxy capable of defending slow moving craft against their high speed nemesis, guided missiles and other low armoured opponents. The Caria is a performance ship like few others in the galaxy, capable of zipping across battlefields at supersonic speeds without sacrificing its maneuverability, or the pilot in the process. Inertia dampeners and micro thrusters tactically placed around the ship along with a gyroscopic stabilizer give it the power to bank and turn at a moment's notice.

The weapons systems on the HA 9. are variable and effective. Typically equipped with the extremely high rate of fire harpy cannons for intercepting projectiles and fast moving ships with veritable rivers of firepower streaming from its wings, other more tactical options can be equipped such as the more explosive and damaging Buzzard or even the Raptor, for more surgical precision.

These weapons coupled with the advanced Maglift orbital mounted turret systems allow for swiveling speed that's near instant, all controlled via the holographic control system in the cockpit. All controlled with an advanced targeting array that would be the envy of any high performance ship. Capable of gaining target lock and mapping engagement patterns on up to a dozen hostile targets at a time, while sharing information with other nearby ships.

The Caria comes equipped with a host of other safety and utility systems to protect either of the two pilots, affording the possibility of a hyperspace ring, a repair droid, and even a jamming system to disable the coms of enemies engaged in dog-fighting or the receivers of guided weapons, rendering them inert. Its compatible with Maglaunch technology and with a hermetically sealed cockpit which is electable, with life support systems that can last up to 24 hours.

The Caria is truly, a rare beauty.
