STRENGTHS
  • Frosty death: the Hoth CryoBan thrower can be used to either fight fires or to cause intense colds
  • Low recoil
WEAKNESSES
  • Heavy and bulky
  • Indiscriminate: anyone caught within the pressurized CryoBan will be liable to suffer from hypothermia, or worse
  • Requires 10 seconds of cooldown between each burst
  • Virtually ineffective against armored vehicles
  • Spit in the wind: in unfavorable winds (usually with a strong headwind component relative to the line of fire), a Hoth being fired can be turned against their users
DESCRIPTION
The Hoth heavy CryoBan launcher is a large weapon that propels pressurized CryoBan out of an insulated tank which, unfortunately, is very bulky and carries a finite amount of CryoBan before it needs to be refilled. As a result of firing pressurized CryoBan, the entire assembly is insulated, especially the barrel. In addition, the CryoBan is fired in five-second bursts, and requires at least 10 seconds before it can be fired again. Because the CryoBan is then fired in a cone extending forward from the barrel, it is indiscriminate, rendering targets liable to endure frozen death and therefore vehicles or emplacements outfitted with Hoth CryoBans should be used at the foremost of a formation to limit the risk of collateral damage.

Also, it shares a weakness with flamethrowers: "spitting in the wind" could cause the weapon to be turned against their users if there's enough of a headwind relative to the barrel. One last thing: the Hoth is of limited effectiveness at best against armored vehicles, as it could cause mobility kills (causing drivetrain fluids to freeze) but no more than that.
