Hot Shots- Mandalore Clans (PM for Invite)

Gray took the m5 with his left hand to avoid another zap from the glitchy right one. As he held it up he said, " WESTAR m5 is a rifle with a long history. Back in the Clone Wars this was the gun used by the ARC troopers because of its reliability and modular design. It was a gun that really helped win the war for the Republic, or at least that is how it would have gone without a Sith manipulating the whole thing." He pointed to the center of the gun between the barrel and stock as he added, " As you can see the weight of the weapon is as close to your center of gravity as possible. Makes it easier to hold up so you can use it with one hand if you train at it a bit. But that's just the old design. The ones being made now I had updated and enhanced for a modern market. The barrel and stock both of this weapon are adjustable on the fly."

Gray began to shorten both the barrel and stock quickly by moving a few pieces with his right hand as he held it with his left still. He got them all the way in so the gun was as compact as possible. He then held it out to [member="Phislo Bress"] to take back. He said as he smirked to her, " The range of the weapon can be shortened to extended with the barrel length and the stock can be adjusted to fit your body size better. Means it is more comfortable to use and can be adapted to multiple situations. Longer for when you need more range, shorter for when you are in close range combat situations like urban environments. The firing mode can also be switched out at will, the scope it able to be swapped out for one that suits your needs, and both the under and upper portions of the barrel can fit attachments such as cables, laser leads, or grenade launchers. Another thing is the weapon can fire 200 shots before the power cell needs to be replaced. That is 4 times more than a majority of the assault rifles on the market. Now, why don't you get the stock adjusted to fit your grip better and you take another shot in any mode?" He just kept smiling to her as he just explained every feature of the weapon. He was a little proud of the gun. It was definitely the most versatile assault rifle on the market.

[member="Stardust Raxis"]

Phislo looked at the rifle as he quickly modified the length of the barrel and stock to compact it down into an easier to handle weapon. From the way [member="Gray Raxis"] spoke of the rifle at length one could tell he was proud of his craftwork. She thought for a moment on the versatility of the weapon and how each type could be changed to suit her needs. "This is way more complex than the Hunter X's my father gave me back home for hunting." She remarked as she took the rifle back and went about the task of adjusting the stock to a comfortable position for her arms to reach.

At about a third of the stock she felt the rifle more naturally fall into its place in her hands. She took a standing approach opposed to prone and activated the targets on the range. "What would you say the maximum range on this would be?" she asked as she flipped on the three round burst.

[member="Stardust Raxis"]

She crossed her arms as she looked to her husband and gave a grin"you thought of everything bringing this weapon back didn't you? Hahaha sometimes I'm surprised at your work myself

With that she turned to [member="Phislo Bress"] and watched her as she adjusted it and then looked to gray" hmm another question for you to answer love hahahah
[member="Gray Raxis"]

Gray just watched as [member="Phislo Bress"] adjusted the weapon and seemed to be getting more comfortable with it. He was glad to see someone using it for the first time and learning how to use their own weapon. It was different than the other times he had trained people how to use their weapons. She wasn't having to rush the lesson to join in on a fight for freedom from a tyrant that was oppressing her family and friends. No, she was able to take her time and really dig into it. It was a pleasant change of pace.

Gray listened to her question about the range and had to think on it for a moment. He said as he remembered the distances it offered at different lengths, " At the barrel's shortest length, 200 meters. At its longest length then 350 meters. The barrel length determines distance of shots as well as their accuracy. That is a basic of guns though, so its a bit of a good teaching agent in that way. When it is short it is better to use auto since you can get a wider spread when you move the end of the barrel. When it is longer the semi-auto and three shot bursts would be better. The three shot burst has more kick to it and you need to get use to it, but at its longest barrel length the shots should have closer clustering on where they hit." He knew she hadn't asked on that, but he felt it would be good info for her as she played with it. It would give her ideas at the very least and he found getting people curious with their shots helped them figure out their weapon and made them better shots because of it.

[member="Stardust Raxis"]

Phislo nodded taking his words and committing to his words. She flips on the selector to full auto and sighted down the targets. Leaning into the rifle and and slowly squeezing the trigger. The unfortunate target criminals wouldn't know what hit them. The rifle spit out a rapid succession of bolts that she swept across the targets and they all flickered in and out with the impacts. After three quick sweeps she flipped over to the three shot and sighted down the target again. Twice she fired on a set of three separate targets and had felt a much stronger sense of control despite the kickback. With her newfound better grip and smaller size she could exert much more control over the rifle then before allowing the rifle a bit more stability.

"Maybe I haven't really been giving this due credit yet? I didn't realize how versatile this rifle could really be. I like it!", She excitedly said to [member="Gray Raxis"].

Phislo switched the safety on to the rifle and set it to the side for a while. Something has been bothering her a bit and now she felt the courage to ask about it. "If I may ask a personal question Alor Raxis?" She said as her eyes locked on to his dangling synthetic hand. "I heard about the trial and what happened on Kashyyyk. The newscast wouldn't shut up about it for a while. Did you... I mean," She said as she didn't want to come off as accusing. She sat down and leaned up against the wall next to the rifle. "What really happened?"

She looked uncomfortable asking what maybe still a sore subject for the man but her curiosity was strong. "Did your cousin really betray the Mand'alor?"

She looked to her as she smiled, yea she would make a wonderful worry and a good one from what could be seen...it was amamzing honestly, she seemed to be able to adjust to the rifle perfectly use the full auto function and three round burst

Every gun has its advantages some more then others though "she said as she patted her shoulder

Then she asked a question as she gave a frown a bit...wasn't her fault it was a honest question, she looked to her and gave a sigh " it is sad to say but...yea..he did..he had betrayed clan raxis, betrayed the clans, and ultimately the manda'lore "she said as she shook her head"she said as she looked at the target and clenched her fist...even if it was gray who'd been on trial it was obvious star now had a new found hate for jack raxis...a big one

[member="Phislo Bress"][member="Gray Raxis"]

Gray grinned contently at [member="Phislo Bress"] as she commented on the rifle after having spent a bit testing. She seemed to be picking up its use fairly well, but it was one thing to do well at the shooting range and another to do well out in the field. She would need a little training with combat scenarios to really improve, but that wasn't exactly a bad thing by any means. Everyone could use that kind of training now and again no matter their experience. He said to her, " Glad to hear. Satisfaction is what we aim for at WESTAR after all. And it never hurts to be attached to your weapons. Means you will take better care of them."

Then she asked a serious question out of nowhere. He was caught a little off guard by it, but it was an honest inquiry that deserved an honest answer. He just looked at her with a smile tinted in sorrow, " Jack is no longer family. The moment he betrayed all of us on the shores of Kashyyk, he became dar'manda. He is no longer a Mandalorian. No longer a member of the clan. No longer family....." He paused a moment after having trailed off. He just needed a sec with how fresh everything still was, but eventually went on to say, " But yes. He ambushed Ra and our troops. It seems he was captured but ended up escaping. I went to Ra to find out for myself if it was true, then offered myself up for trial in Jack's place. My clan was innocent of what he had done, but the clans were out for blood. I gave my clan back their innocence and the clans their blood when Ra took my hand. But better my hand than the life of my loved ones." He just kept smiling at her in that sad way as he held up his right hand between them.

[member="Stardust Raxis"]

Gray certainly was a man in a precarious position. His family was dar'manda and a traitor to the Mand'alor yet he offered himself to the fire in place of his family to protect his clan from the backlash. He paid a heavy price for something that really wasn't his fault or so it seemed to her. Then again she only had what she could get out of the news reports about the crusade and the trial. She wasn't there herself and could be missing a crucial part of the puzzle that changes everything. Whether that change was better or worse she didn't know. She didn't envy the man but nor did she pity him. It would take a lot of dedication to be the head of the clan and she respected him for his sacrifice to protect them.

"That... Was very honorable of you, Alor, and I only wish I could live up to an example like that."

Call her a bit starstruck but hearing that [member="Gray Raxis"] surrendered his flesh so that his clan is protected moved her. Maybe it made him more Mandalore than any other at the trial when it came down to it.

She gentky took his right hand into her left one slowly as she looked at him with a smile, a calm one as she lowered his hand gently and nodded

Gray is a very honorable and brave man, funny to this kind when we met he was simply a spacer hahaha"she said as she let go of his hand and patted his back gently with a smile"

And don't worry vod becoming a example takes time but someday someone will look to you and say I wanna be like her"she said a she put a hand on her shoulder"until that day you strive for it

[member="Phislo Bress"] [member="Gray Raxis"]

Gray just smiled to the red head as she looked all star struck. That was a first. He tended to get sighs or groans from people, but that might have had more to do with his terrible puns than anything else. He just chuckled a bit before he said, " Don't worry Firefly, it isn't very hard to live up to my example. Just smile a lot, tell terrible puns, and get your right hand ripped off. Do all of that and you are golden..... Course I think you look better in red." He gave her an impish little smirk and winked to her. He was having fun here. He was waiting for the elbow from his wife as well, because women always seemed to love elbowing him. Now if only he could figure a way to make credits off of it, he would be the wealthiest man to ever exist.

Gray gave her enough time to process and react to what he said, however long that would be, then looked to the shooting range. He said, " Alright, how about we get back to teaching you how to shoot? Try using the rifle with the barrel length extended out and aiming for a target as far down range as you can hit. Sound good to you Firefly?" The little pet name for the young woman was growing on him, no matter how she enjoyed it. He sort of liked using them when he thought them up, and might be why his designers at WESTAR enjoyed nicknaming the attachments they created. He still enjoyed telling customers about "Mr. Bubble" and them not realizing at first it wasn't a person or droid.

[member="Phislo Bress"] [member="Stardust Raxis"]

"Firefly is it?", She blushed a bit at that. The more she thought about it the more it brought up memories of her father and how he would . She would have to call him when she got back to her home. "I guess that will do."

She shifted the rifle back into its for with the barrel extended to its maximum length. As she did so she decided to get a little repetition into the drill and pushed and pulled at the various rifle components to commit each one to memory. She found some difficulty trying to replicate the steps Gray showed her at first but finding the right combination she undid the process and redid it a bit faster. Just so she could get a better understanding on what needed to go where for the process when she wanted to try it again.

Satisfied now with the state of the rifle barrel now at its maximum range and adjusting the stock a bit longer to balance the weight of the rifle to a comfortable level, she shifted her sights to a glowing blue hologram of a Bothan generic terrorist looking figure down range. She flipped on to the single shot setting.

Focus. She felt it again. This was her element. Hunting with her father, or in this case an Alor, behind her. Instructing her. She could deal with that. The world melted away and all that existed was her, the rifle, breathing, and the target in her sights.

Slow trigger.

BEW the rifle sounded off.

Did she get it?

[member="Gray Raxis"]

She smiked as she lightly elbowed him she was used to him flirtimg, she knew where his love was and that was with her, besides she al.osteoporosis looked like a firefly almost, she radiated a nice glow, a positive attitude

You know gray firefly is a perfect nickname for he "she said noting her blush as she chuckled and patted her shoulder leaning in"don't mind him he's always like that"

She then watched her repeat adjusting the gun before getting into position she watched a she xould see her getting into that mind set then

Bew-crackle fiz
The target around the chest area lot up before reforming
[member="Gray Raxis"]
[member="Phislo Bress"]

Gray chuckled as he watched [member="Phislo Bress"] blush at his comment and then watched her as she began to work on adjusting the rifle. She seemed to be taking it a step further and getting to know more about her weapon. That was a very good thing that could potentially save her life one day. She was having a bit of trouble at first, but she quickly got more use to it. She eventually seemed to be satisfied and got herself set up to shoot. Her position and breathing was excellent as she took her shot, which hit the center of the target. He smiled as he watched that happen. She had some real talent for sharpshooting it seemed.

Gray said after her shot, " Good job. Direct hit cleanly in the torso. You aimed for the right place and hit it. I'm impressed Firefly. You have talent for sharpshooting." He had walked over and patted her on the left shoulder as he spoke. It was a friendly pat meant to be to convey a "well done" feeling to her. He then stepped back so she could do what she needed to do next. Be it take another shot or adjust her weapon, she would have room for it. He turned back to look at his wife. She wasn't the jealous type, but this was an attractive young woman he was patting right now. He just smiled to [member="Stardust Raxis"] to let her know he wasn't doing anything weird and remembered she was there. Last thing he wanted was to sleep on the floor after this.

Phislo watched almost in slow motion as the shot impacted the glowing blue torso of her target and the data from the shot fed back to her. She felt a rush of relief looking on as the figured reformed itself. The encouragement and support from Stardust and Ray had a profound impact on her and calmed her mind more than she realized. She might even begin to call them true vod.

Phislo took the compliment and relaxed her stance for a moment to look over her shoulder at Gray. "Thank you Alor. I think I'm really starting to get a feel for this rifle. It's not like the hunting rifles back home but I guess that's not really a bad thing!", she says with a bit of a laugh at the thought. She retook her position at the firing line and sighted the rifle again on the targets. Slow squeeze, breathing, sights, fire.

The rifle sounded a few more times and she spaced the timing out less each time. The barrel was glowing hot by the end and she allowed it to cool off on the side for a while. It was then she got the idea for a contest. "So, all this has been mainly focused on the rifle. I wonder though..." She said as she put her hand to her side holster. "Either of you two want a challenge with a blaster?" she said as she drew the WESTAR 34 out and pointed it resting upward to the sky.

[member="Stardust Raxis"] [member="Gray Raxis"]

She watched with a proud snile on her face as she caught grays look and nodded as she smiled, she wasn't the jealous type at all, she knew that was his way of teasing star....even if it annoyed her some she didn't mind at all , she came up and smiled as she patted her back"

She watched deer fire several more shots watching them hit in multiple places, sure a target that was not moving and shoot was easy, she'd have to see later if she was up for shoot her with stun rounds....sounded crazy yes but you trained for the real thing

Then she gave a idea out, she smiled as she pulled her westar 35 out and gave a gentle twirl of it"a challenge eh? Well I'm surely up for it hahah
[member="Phislo Bress"][member="Gray Raxis"]

Gray just smiled to himself as the young mandalorian relaxed after his compliment to her. She seemed to be getting less nervous around them, which was a good sign especially if they ever shared the battle field later. She followed up with thanking him and a little small chat. He grinned and said in response, " You're welcome vod. It is a good thing if you plan on touching foot to ground in combat. A hunting rifle is not a bad weapon, but it was designed for ambushing prey that are more likely to run than fight. That tactic can work in combat, but you kind of need some follow through in case it doesn't work." He then watched her continue to take some more shots with the rifle, getting even more comfortable with it after each shot.

Gray just looked at [member="Phislo Bress"] as she made the suggestion for a shooting contest with blasters. He wasn't opposed to the idea, and [member="Stardust Raxis"] seemed to be excited by the proposition, but he had some reservations. He said to the both of them after a moment, " I don't mind, but would that really be fair? I am not sure how familiar you are with a pistol and Star is more of a brawler than a marksman." He grinned apologetically to Star as he added, " No offense Beautiful, but you know its true. But if you both are fine with giving it a go then I'd be happy to do it." He just waited for their answers. He wasn't feeling cocky or over confident, he just knew how well he shot due to extensive experience and it might not be completely fair. Last thing he wanted to do was to wreck Phislo's confidence after she just got comfortable.

"Yeah, what's a good challenge between vod huh?"

She shifted the firing range's mode to select a game. The display selected blaster pistol and highlighted targets in the mid-range of the field and closer. Then popped up several games.

Bullseye. Quick Draw. Moving Targets. Pop-up Targets. Points. Battle simulator.

"Well? Take your pick since I challenged you." she offered to them both.

[member="Gray Raxis"] [member="Stardust Raxis"]

She looked to gray and rolled her eyes as she smiked and gave him a pat on the back" that's my preferred method of combat dear doesn't mean I don't practice shooting and suxh"she said and looked to [member="Phislo Bress"] and spoke" moving targets sound fun actually what do you say gray
[member="Phislo Bress"] [member="Gray Raxis"]

Gray listened to the replies of both [member="Phislo Bress"] and his wife [member="Stardust Raxis"] to what he had to say earlier. He grinned about that a bit seeing they were willing to have some fun despite things. He just needed to think over what mode he would rather deal with right now. Star had suggested moving targets, which was not such a bad idea. He glanced over at Phislo for a bit as he contemplated things for a bit. She was here wanting help with improving herself and they had volunteered to give that to her. What would be the best thing for her here? What would be the best experience she could have right now with them all here? As he thought over this the answer came to him, bringing an impish grin to his lips.

Gray turned his attention fully to Phislo as he said, " Well Firefly, my vote goes for combat simulator. I would also like to offer up a handful of conditions no matter the mode we go with. Care to hear them? If not better plug up your ears right now because I am going to say them." He chuckled and paused a moment at his little joke. He was entertaining himself right now, and that was alright with him. He went on. " First, all shots are to be made unassisted by any technology. Second, you two can shoot however you want to with either hand or both but I will only be able to use my left hand. Third, the winner gets a little reward for winning. We can figure out what it is we individually want and say it. I though would like you Firefly." He grinned impishly at her as he winked. It was a terrible line as he flirted with her playfully. He had said it in that kind of way as well, but she could take it however she wanted to. Hopefully Star knew her husband was just being playful in a friendly way as well right now or who knows what she would do to him.

Phislo listened to Gray speak out his wager and upon getting to the last part eyed him a bit with a healthy mix of suspicion, amusement, and confusion.

I hope you mean "I want you in the clan", A'lor, or this is going to become a 'very' awkward shooting contest. Phislo thought to herself. Phislo considered his words carefully. "A little reward huh? That sounds interesting.", she said as she gave her pistol a little twirl in her hands. "Star? Can I call you Star? Is combat sim okay with you?" she said as she turned towards her.
