Honor and Hope

"Relax Gala, we are almost there." Kahne whispered taking a small glance at his droid from inside the cockpit of a standard x-wing he had borrowed from some Alliance in exile personnel. Things had been rough and yet easy going these past few months. Kahne had been busy training his padawan and wife Alexandra. All the while trying to be the best father to his children it was all tough. However among all the chaos he stopped for a moment as he felt a disturbance in the force. Something had gone wrong, which many things had gone wrong in the galaxy as of late.

It had been to long since he had been in contact with [member="Coren Starchaser"] he knew he was busy leading his cause at the moments. And while his own personal duty's and pulled him away from his leader, he had sought to return once things had quieted down for the most part and see what was happening. A hologram message with the best way, however Kahne always like to do things in person. And well, he couldn't help but say that he missed the company of Starchaser.

"There." Kahne said as they shot out of hyperspace and the Spear Of the Alliance Vessel was before them. "Alliance personnel, this is Jedi Master Kahne Porte requesting permission to land. Access codes have been sent." The Jedi Master took a deep breath as he awaited for response, all the while listening to Gala's beeps and hums about the vessel.

It’d been a while since Coren had stepped himself away from the war front. Since the fall of the Alliance, he had been going pretty hard, between taking the fight to the enemy and diving in to do his best assisting the Jedi Orders across the galaxy. He was pretty sure he was a card carrying liaison, if not member, to the major Jedi groups and other freedom and democracy supporting factions in the galaxy. He was making his home in the Outer Rim when he wasn’t bouncing place to place.

Walking along with Porter, his trusted astromech, Starchaser nodded as he looked over recent war reports. Mon Cal was still a hot zone, but there were murmurs of people heading towards Ossus. Now, that was an idea. But Porter had interrupted the General’s war train of thought. “Porte?” He asked. “You sure it wasn’t just someone looking for you?”

OH, Jedi Master, well, the droid knew Coren’s guest list. A smile came across his face. This visit was something the Corellian was needing. “Have him meet us over in the rec room.” He ordered, turning on his heel to head back the way they came. The droid was giving the ship permission to let the Jedi’s X-Wing land. Standard, but given the current state of Coren adding [member="Romi Jade"] to a watch list? Yeah, he was being careful.

Verification had been received and Kahne showed a small smile as he directed his wing towards the dock and it wasn't long that he finally touched down. Gala was being lowered just as Kahne himself climbed out of the x-wing with a small travel bag slung around his shoulder. Kahne was greeted by some personnel that advised him to meet [member="Coren Starchaser"] in the rec room. He offered to lead the way, at which Kahne accepted as he turned back to Gala. "Stay with the ship Gala, I"ll come collect you after a while."

The Jedi Master followed the Alliance personnel which led him out of the hangar and into one of the hallways which in turn he would find Starchaser in the rec room. The vessel was truly something nice, the last time he was on a vessel of such or similar caliber was when he was with the Deneba enclave.

Coren came into view and he showed a small smile. "Coren Starchaser, busy as usual I see." Kahne said with a small chuckle. "It's good to see you old friend." While Kahne sensed something amiss here, nothing at risk but perhaps it had something to do with the disturbance he felt just a week or so ago. Kahne closed the distance between them and while extending his hand to shake Coren's also reached in for a brotherly hug. With how the Jedi seemed scattered to the wind now, it was good that those that remained knew who was left and they were here.

The Jedi General was making his way to the rec-room that was indicated, it was going to be good to run into his old friend and have a drink. Maybe relax from the war effort. He was making his way with a relaxed quickness of anyone on a Friday afternoon at 5PM. It was just what he needed, a break. Sure, he had down time with so many of the Jedi, but someone who wasn’t involved with the direct fight of his battlegroup? And maybe someone he could rope into the fight? Was always good.

“Welcome aboard, Kahne.” He grinned, as he closed the distance between the two men. A hand out to shake his friend’s. “Good to see you.” The hug was not unexpected, just Coren expected to go for it first. He was what was left of a fallen Order’s command structure, and keeping the Jedi who supported the Alliance in a group, and finding them safe places, and people who could use their efforts?

“How have you been? Keeping tabs on anything? Linking up with D’Qar?” He wanted to make sure his Jedi were busy, or at least safe. It was probably more effective to ask the other Jedi what he’d been up to, rather than if he was diving into Alliance Command and taking trips for them, doing things only Jedi would be ready for.

Or had he gone full monk?

"Not as much as I'd like too." The Jedi said in response to linking up with D'Qar. "As I'm sure you are aware that Alexandra Russo and I are now married and have twins. So I'm having to balance both worlds now, which seems to be most challenging." Kahne chuckled lightly as he set his bag down on the table.

In truth Kahne had been busy, but with his own personal matters. While he had always told himself that he would do his best to make sure that his Jedi duties didn't interfere with his personal life, that at times was put to the test. And while he had duties as a Jedi, he also had them as a husband and father. He was sure there would come a time at which he would have to return to the forefront once more.

"I brought a gift." Kahne said with a small smile. He reached into his bag and pulled out a bottle an aged bottle of Corellian whiskey, that had been kept in very good condition for as old as the bottle seemed to be, unopened. He handed it to [member="Coren Starchaser"]
